I am afraid I cannot speak from personal experience, but I do work with prosthetics, if you are interested. At the very least I could answer some questions on materials or teach you maintenance, I have been doing so for others.

Maul is right that it is an important skill to know, I think. You can never be sure what mechanics or engineers will be available in the Trench.
