[The video opens at the beach, with the boardwalk in the distance behind him. Nara'a looks... rough. His eyes are a little brighter red, his hair and fur out of place. His skin is slightly paler, too - though it's a little hard to tell with how pale he usually is.]

So... um. If you haven't noticed, people keep being drawn to the ocean and keep trying to throw themselves in.

I've been trying to stop people, but I've been out here for days and I need someone to help me. I need to go rest.

So if there's anyone who can come down and help without wanting to go back to the ocean, I'd appreciate it.

[He almost turns the omni off, but pauses.]

And if you're one of those thinking about trying to go back... it's not going to work. You'll just come back, and the pain isn't going to be any better for it.

[Now he shuts the omni off.]

[Having a campsite not far from the shore gives him the advantage of getting to the ocean quickly. As the video feed fades, he looks to Kage unsure of whether or not to help this stranger out. Not keen on trusting people he doesn't know, but compelled by his own sense of morality and the effects of this month to at the very least check it out.

Heading down the dreary shore line, green eyes see a world completely invisible to most. Corruption clouds swirl about thickly hanging in the air. It's stagnating and suffocating. Something is definitely up with this area. The only clear spot seems to be underneath the sacred guardian tree.

Spotting the white haired young man on the beach, Megumi approaches cautiously with two black canines at his sides. Leaving about eight feet between himself and the stranger, he would be able to see that Megumi is carrying a canister in his hand. ]

You need back up? [His tone neutral and cold as he assesses the situation.]

Hey, Go get some rest. I'll be there in a little to take over.

...And don't blame the people currently trying to do this. They- They aren't in their right minds at the moment.

But I know it's tiring work that you're doing here.

Oh, I don't blame them. It's not their fault. And even if it weren't something about this place doing it... it still wouldn't be their fault.

But I... yeah. Could use a good night of sleep.

[He looks up at the man, his lesser panda omen going over to sniff at the dogs. He's curious, but he leaves a few feet between them. He just wants to sniff.]

[The young man does have some signs of corruption, but they're light. He may not even know he has them.]

Yes, please. I... got lectured by a friend for trying to do this all myself...

Your friend is right, taking on a task like this alone is dangerous. [ And reckless and maybe even a bit stupid if he's being honest; however, given that he's supposedly out here risking his life to do a good thing- the last bit may not be worth mentioning. Especially if he's being earnest.

Eyes scan searching the man over. Outwardly he appears to be non-threatening and Kage, the larger of the two canines, seems at ease. Trusting his instincts he lowers his guard slightly. Taking a few steps forward- never once taking his eyes off the young man. Closing about half the distance before stopping and fluidly extending his hand with the container towards him.]

You look like you need a break, take some of this, it's anti-corruption sakura-cha.

[ If he decides to take some, the tea is warm with a spring time aroma, and has a light delicate taste that's floral and earthy while maintaining a bit of oceanic saltiness. It's well balanced- giving the consumer a warm soothing comfort feeling as it simultaneously purifies low levels of corruption. ]

I... I guess it is. But I can breathe underwater, so I didn't think of asking anyone else...

[His tail droops along with the miqo'te's ears. He really should have asked someone, but he didn't want to put this on anyone else. He sighs and takes some tea.]

[He blinks in surprise at the taste. Well-balanced, floral... delicate taste... oh, it makes him miss Kugane and its tea shops so much. He sighs, the redness of his eyes receding along with his fangs. They're still there, but smaller and less sharp.]

This is really good... did you make it yourself?

[ Oh well that's different and makes some sense. He thinks calling for backup was a smart move regardless. Noting the tail and fangs, but distracted and intrigued by the concept of him being able to breathe underwater. That's fascinating, he's never met someone with that ability.]

Is that something you were always able to do?

[Nodding his head in agreement.] I did, it's essential to bring with me while patrolling. [ An old recipe from when he was little- something he used to drink before bed. Sure at the time it wasn't made from the flowers of a sacred tree, but that didn't matter. The effects and taste still feel so familiar--just as he had remembered. Calming.

Looking out, watching as the ocean waves crash and tumble onto the black shore leaving traces of white foam bubbling in its wake. The smell of salt thick in the air. Yup, today the dark sea appears much more hostile then usual. Eyes focus back at the young man in front of him. ]

How long have you been out here?

Not when I was younger, but when I was traveling I ended up helping a group of people who had their kami bestow the blessing on me and the others I was traveling with. It's been very helpful in the time since.

[It certainly made traveling the Ruby Sea much easier... and came in handy a few times later, as well.]

[He finishes drinking the tea and hands the cup back to the other. It's calming, looking at the ocean... even if he knows what it can do to people who aren't prepared. He doesn't have much knowledge of this sea... but he knows what the sea can do in general. Not that he's spent his life with it like some he knows, but he's had enough time to get a healthy respect for the ocean.]

How long? Ah...

[He suddenly blushes a little bit, embarrassed at his own stubbornness.]

Days, now. Maybe four or five days? I... somewhat lost count.

That's useful- so you've been pulling people out who manage to get themselves in the water.

[ An audible exhale. Dark hair shakes back and forth in disapproval.]

The more rested you are the better suited you'll be to help others. [Take care of yourself, that's important!

A beat. Kage approaches him cautiously, snout lifted sniffing at the air. Her movements slow and steady but there's no signs of aggression.

Feeling like the man in front of him is truly no threat, eyes glance down the shoreline making sure no one is currently in need of assistance. ]

Shifts are a better way to patrol an area- you should rest, I can take it from here.

That's right.

[He huffs, but he knows the other is right. He looks down at the dog and offers a hand to sniff. That's what you do with dogs, right?]

I should have gotten more people from the start, but I felt it was my responsibility. I'm not totally sure why... but I felt like I had to do it.

[The large onyx wolf smells Nara'a's hand taking in the scent and committing it to memory. Finding him in the future will be that much easier.

But that compelled feeling to help do what's right, that resonates with him. Why had he come out here to help a total stranger anyway? It's something he does regularly enough as a hunter, but going to an unfamiliar person through the network was definitely not in his norm. ]

I see. [A pause. Not wanting to burden others ~~also very relatable~~.]

What's your name?

My name's Nara'a. What's yours?

[The wolf gets a gentle pat if he allows it before he pulls his hand away. Good doggie.]

I've only been here a little over a month. It's been... quite the interesting time so far. But I at least have a home that I can go to in order to rest...

Have you had any relief yet? If not I will be happy to come and assist.

I've had a few people respond, but more people are definitely welcome.

Of course. I will be there soon.

Have... many people tried to throw themselves into the sea?

I've seen at least three or four so far, and they didn't seem to know why they had the urge to do so.

Strange. Though I wonder if it has something to do with the month.

Have you felt an urge? I would hate for you to be alone out there trying to stop others and you've been fighting the urge yourself.

A small bit, but nothing I can't handle. Besides, it wouldn't even work - I can breathe underwater.

[Wait.]

You can breathe underwater?! [It nearly stops him in his tracks as he makes his way to the shore. He's impressed but also not the point!]

Yes. It was a blessing from the kami of the kojin for helping them. It's been very useful since then.

I imagine it is.

[He shakes his head.]

That isn't the point though. You're still feeling the effects. [And who is to say that he won't feel it as well once he reachest the shore?] Do you really think taking a break will help?

Well if I don't take a break, a certain friend of mine is going to be very angry with me. She did tell me I need rest, which is... probably true. I haven't slept much over the past... several days.

Lack of sleep can be dangerous. Your friend is right. You need rest. [And he sounds concerned by the lack of sleep.]

Maybe we can see if we can take shifts with the others who have volunteered to assist.

I know... I just didn't want to miss anyone if they came to the beach.

[Hm... his tail flicks a little as he thinks.]

I think that would probably be best, if we can get everyone together.

We can discuss that then once you've gotten proper rest.

[They can see who could help, but he worries that they'll just be dragging people out who might just throw themselves into the ocean.]

You joined Manabu's group out to the church, didn't you? [He thinks he recognizes him, but Trench was a surprisingly big place.]
