Sophia stays with Midoriya for the rest of the confrontation. She does not seek to guide him to a harmonious resolution, because she judges that there will not be one. What there may be is a peaceful one, and this is what she tries to support, offering quiet nudges in this way or that, and the steady, grounding presence of at least one soul in his corner who cannot be harmed and will do no harm to others.

You know the truth in your heart, she tells him, once, gently, Do not falter.

Omens carry the truths of their Sleepers in their own hearts. There's an echo of it in Paul's expression when Midoriya finally is close, his head lifting from how it hung as he marked out a line on the shore with his pacing. Sophia squirms out of Midoriya's pouch and bounds to him as Paul heads directly to him, worry and upset not enough to hide the glimmer of pride in his sightless eyes.

"There you are," he says, reaching out to grasps Midoriya by the front of his uniform and tug him close, aerial quirk or no aerial quirk, to knock their foreheads lightly together. "Are you all right?"
