video; @anonymous | THIS IS MY FIGHT SONG (take back my paint song)
Wrench: green
Jinx: blue
Sharon: Orange
[ The feed turns on (yes, he still claims to be anonymous even on video) and already thereβs some noise in the background. Looked like it was Jinx and Sharon engaged in some kind of one-sided battle. Sharon is busy trying to snatch a paintbrush out of Jinx's hand, her cheeks puffed up in visible frustration, lips pursed. When it's clear she's not going to get it back, she steps back, picks up a small bucket of paint, dips her fingers in, and then flicks the color at the other girl before sticking her tongue out childishly. Whether Wrench was or was not aware that they were fighting or one of them was fighting and the other of them was confused about it was out for debate. Speaking of Wrench! Two LED eyes pop up from the bottom of the screen real close. ]
Helloooo trenchies!! [ in one big swooping motion that might have almost hit the both of them which he quietly apologizes for shortly after. He swings wildly between being dramatic and being serious enough to give someone whiplash if they werenβt used to it. A moment. Wrench takes a step back, okay a few more steps, aaaaaand a couple more. There we are. ]
Tis I, your friendlyβ er, your neighborhood, uh, Wrench. And I need your help! Or, uh, I guess Iβm just announcing some shit with these two cool cats. [ He shrugged and Sharon gave an awkward wave, pulling her attention away from Jinx. ]
Found this place in Willful Machine. Fixinβ it up to be a kinda work and live space for all you techy engineer and programmer types if youβre interested. [ Cause heβll use it anyway so whatevs] Come on by, share resources or work on some shit with other people. First, though. Gotta make it look fuckinβ cool.
[ Jinx rolls her eyes at this and without a word, she gathers up to her feet and storms off somewhere off screen β yanking a bucket with her to go as far away from the two of them as possible to paint. Wrench takes a moment to watch this but returns his attention to the camera. ]
[ Sharon takes a moment to step up next to Wrench, shooting Jinx a short look as she sulks away, visibly confused but trying not to draw too much attention to the tension ] There's plenty of shit here to decorate with if you want to come by and help. And I've also brought snacks, so... Free food!
Oh, yeaaaaaah! Free food. How noble! [The sarcasm in her tone is enormously thick, not even the toughest of knives can cut through. ] Itβs important to include everyone, right? Make sure no one starves out here.
[ And Sharon just sighs deeply (like a bitch (: ) hoo boy. never a dull moment here, right? ] Soooo yeah! Come by. Help us make shit cool.

Action!
Oh, hey! Uh. Yeah, come on in. [ His mask flashed a friendly ^__^ as he gave a grand welcoming gesture ] Everyone's welcome. Plenty of supplies. And food. Need to build some tables, too. Add to the workspace.
[ Right, that was what he was gonna do. He sorta spaced out there while The Things happened, sorry. ]

There'll be a brief look between the two of them before she looks over to Sharon and Jinx and... well. This is all very awkward here. But yes, anyways. Oh. ]
I like your mask, it's very clever. Is it magic? [ It doesn't look magic, but you never know. In this world there's more magic that not. ] I could help with that. I'm not very good at carpentry, but I can certainly hold things for you. I imagine it's far easier with an extra set of hands.

Oh, this? [ Wrench pointed inward to his face. ] Uh, no. No magic. Didn't know that actually existed until recently to be honest. [ He's chipper, though. Gesticulating with his words. ] It's all science, baybeee. BCI tech, it's kinda like a prosthetic. Functions like one in all technical aspects at least except I do actually have a face. [ He laughed, a bit awkwardly. ]
Every set of hands count, though. C'mon over [ he nodded toward a small scrap heap ] Let's drill some shit to other shit.

It's very clever. So it's like... a way of showing emotion without showing one's face? [ There's a little hum of amusement. She's certainly not going to judge why someone might hide their face, people have their reasons. But it's an interesting way of going about things.
Glancing over at the scrap heap, she nods and moves towards it. The raven on her shoulder quickly flaps over and starts to hop about the pile, trying to pick out suitable pieces. They want to help too! ]

So, magic huh? [ Lets pretend he forgets this conversation for some reason. maybe cause he was sort of preoccupied by Makima pulling some bullshit and making sure Jinx and Sharon was okay??? Timey-wimey nonsense, rp is. ] Never thought it was actually real, gotta say. Until I turned into a fucking squid or whatever. This place is pretty comfortable for you, then?
no subject
In some ways, yes. It feels a bit more like home than the Dream did, anyway. [ Deerington had its magic, of course. But it was an experience living amongst Muggles and technology. ] Although I could do without things like Corruption and Beasthood being constant worries. ... Much like everyone else, I suppose.
[ Although it's kind of... down to Sleepers being the cause of that, Luna believes. This world is... shaped by the choices of the Sleepers of Deerington. ]
I suppose I'm quite lucky to be used to a lot of it, even if there's new things to learn of how the world works. [ Not that she's terribly bothered by that. ]
lmfao me forgetting to put shit in html...
[ For as long as he'd been here, which really wasn't all that long actually, he hadn't picked up a lot on the history of this place or that place was a continuation of another one. Mostly, people helped him get a grip of his own world and remember himself and then he kinda just got distracted with stuff. ] Guess it's an adjustment for most people. Just a pain in the ass. [ Wrench laughed a little. ] Took me a long ass time to get to where I was and now I have to relearn basic principles of physics, apparently.
[ He paused. ] Sounds like you've been here a long time, though.
it happens!!
[ More than Luna could ever care to count. ]
I'd say you'd get used to it, but this place does have a habit of keeping us on our toes. You do get better at learning to keep yourself balanced, though. [ Optimism! But it's true, there is a learning curve even if it's a steep one.
There's a soft hum his comment. ] Including Deerington, it's been... a long time, yes. [ It's tricky to keep track of it, really. ] I'd just turned seventeen when I left my home world, and I turned twenty one a couple of months ago.
[ Mm. Quite a while, then. ]

[ He stopped after one more screw being drilled in. Lookin' good so far! Not perfect, not something you'd see out of the home hardware catalogue but whatever. Shit was more fun when it was imperfect. ] Four years, huh? Hell of a time.

[ A new one outside of their home worlds. They'll still have their homeworld lives, only they won't get to find out. Or they might. Who knows.
And yes! Look at them, they're doing a good job! Besides, it has more character. ]
Mm, yes. Sometimes it seems longer. Other times it's no time at all. I'd like to think I've grown a lot. The Dream was hard, this place is harder. But I do like to think of this as home, now. A chance at something new.
