[The video turns on and it's everyone's not-so-favorite Sith Lord. He looks better than he did upon arrival though he wears the usual expression of just barely contained fury he's known for. Sitting next to him is a creature that might be the stuff of human nightmares given how they're all teeth. They could have easily been mistaken for a monster in this place were it not for the fact they're remaining perfectly still, Maul's right hand resting along their back.

If you're all done fooling around with these devices like the children half of you are, perhaps we can turn our attention to more serious matters. Oh, and for those of you who had hoped I wouldn't find my way here, so sorry to disappoint.

[Though he sounds anything but.]

For one, I recall a lot of bleating about organizing a government and such during your charming little witch hunt of me. I assume for most you that was all talk but surely there has to be a few enterprising souls that were serious. If so, let us talk more. I am most curious given I have some experience with running an entire planet. [Venge, the Maalraas sitting by Maul, paws him gently.] Oh and has anyone else found themselves suddenly with an animal companion?

[Then, having blithely insulted a good three-fourths of the population, the video is turned off.]

[Will is grimacing a little and rubbing at his temples like he's getting the beginning of a headache.]

Yeahhhh, I...remember everything about you now.

[Maul seems completely unperturbed at seeing Will on the screen.]

Well, then you should know my desire to change is a sincere one.

[Of course, so is his desire for power, but that goes without saying.]

Well, yeah, but you, uh...you kinda have a way, of um. Saying stuff.

[You have no tact, Maul, that's what he means.]

[Fortunately, Maul isn't insulted. Will knows him well enough by now that he can take the boy's words into consideration.]

I was raised by spinewolves and never taught the niceties of conversation.

[It tends to take peeling back the layer of Maul slowly one by one to get down to the damaged person beneath that wasn't quite as bad as the monstrous psychopath on the surface.]

You weren't either. You were raised by Sith. [Very indignantly. You can't pull that one over on him.]

[Maul chuckles at Will's reaction. Good to know the kid is still on the ball.]

It's called a joke, my young friend. And it was about the same thing. If you think my master had anymore desire to teach me how to talk with people in a pleasant and charming matter than spinewolf would have, you are sorely mistaken.

Oh. I guess you're not wrong about that.

[Then, more firmly:] You said you were gonna try to change, though.

I am trying to change. Hence why I am involving the entire populace of Sleepers instead of merely try an aggressive takeover as I might have in the past.

[There is a certain level of terror in knowing that, on some level, this is Maul behaving.]

Oh. This is, um...democracy. For you. [Yeah, Will is coming to that realization and he isn't really sure how he feels about it.]

I don't believe in democracy.

[Look, he was raised by Darth Sidious, this is to be expected.]

But if people here are going to attempt any form of government, I wish to be a part of it. Not everyone here is a good, pure soul on the side of light. Those on the side of darkness should have someone representing them too.

I know that. [If there's anything Will knows, it's that Sith Lord + Democracy is not even remotely a thing.]

I think...that might actually be a good idea. [Listen, he's shocked too.]

[That Will actually agrees with Maul stops him up short. He pauses and blinks in surprise.]

[Will makes a face, wrinkling his nose in annoyance.] Yeah, I know, don't rub it in.

I just think...a lot of perspectives is a good idea, that's all.

[Maul gives an approving nod, managing to keep from gloating over what Will said.]

Good. This is the beginning of learning wisdom.

I saaaaiiiiid don't rub it in. [Even if Maul's not gloating, Will is still Majorly Annoyed.]

I am attempting restraint but you amuse me greatly.
