[ The feed turns on to a harried Yuri holding one of those Doorway swords that folks were given last month. He doesn't look great, thin and gaunt like he hasn't been eating well, eyes sunken from inadequate sleep, hair limp, but he's staring at the Omni, chest heaving with heavy breaths. ]

Shit. Hey, a bunch of us are trapped in a house in Crenshaw. Blue's—

[ Yuri glances back behind himself, but the feed is too blurry to show what's happening exactly ]

Mind-control. Keith, Bolin, Flynn, Diluc [ he's running now, down what look like stairs from the motion. ] Kaeya, they're all stuck in here. Need someone on the outside to get them out. Dunno how long until—

[ He doesn't get to finish that thought. It's like someone flicked a switch: the light goes out of his eyes, his face going slack.  The sword and the Omni slip from his hands and clatter to the ground, and the feed cuts. ]

(ooc: Yuri may or may not answer replies, and if he does, it'll be ICly later, since he has to, y'know, un-mind-control himself again. Boy Prison log is here for any prospective rescuers.)

[Too late, though. Yuri's transmission is over already, and Alvin can't exactly reconnect if he's not there to pick up. He swears, but he doesn't know where to go. Until he does, there's nothing he can do.]

Where in Crenshaw, Yuri? Are you there?

[ Two days later, Alvin finally gets a response. Yuri still looks pretty rough up, but more tired than stressed now. ]

Hey, thanks, man. That woulda been good info to share, huh? Was in a hurry. We're all free, now.

[ And, well, Blue is dead. ]

[vibing]

[ This one, Yuri doesn't really know how to respond to. He saw the deer there at the house though. Thank you, deer buddy. Thanks.

Why does this deer have a username? A question for another day.

But just in case, he sends a short response back a day later: ]

What the hell. [He sounds more relieved than anything.] I thought you died. Are you okay?

Nah, not this time. I'm... fine. [ It's a pretty not-great "fine," but what are you gonna do when your surrogate dad you're emotionally bonded to dies? ] Gotta clean up the house. It was rough there for a minute.

No kidding. Even just on camera, that much was clear.

[Alvin pauses before asking:]

You want me to get you anything? For you and Flynn, or for the house?

[vibing]

Nah, we're... [ He starts, then stops with a little frown ] Our friend, Blue, he was the one who did this, but it was corruption, I'm pretty sure. If you can get your hands on any of those mushrooms, the ones that deal with corruption? Would be good to have on hand.

[ He feels pretty dumb to not have seen (or felt) what was happening to Blue sooner ]

[He has no idea what Yuri's talking about.]

[Well, he's a human again when this comes in, so hi there Yuri, have Lance's face coming up on camera. He hasn't yet been to the catacombs since he's been human for the first time in like 2 weeks for just a day. he's at the last day of the carnival with an eyepatch on one eye, blue and purple round sunglasses and a corndog in his mouth. He casually salutes and looks a little tipsy.]

No problem.

[ Is there much else to say? His lips flicker in the tiniest, tiredest smile ]

Gotta be careful around here.

Yeah, that's the sense I'm getting. ...So, I'll be around, okay?

[He has no idea what to say beyond this, either.]

I'll send my Omen with the mushrooms when I find 'em.

[Ardley's a sylphjay; even if he's made of smoke and psychic blood magic and not a real bird, he should be able to find them, right? Dammit, he should have thought of that before. He's an idiot.]

[ Yuri blinks when he gets this response. At least someone's having a good time.

After a moment, he puts two and two together. Lance was the deer. Cool, that's cool. ]

That a thing you can do? [ Turn into a deer ] Man, I wish I was where you are right now.

[vibing]

Thanks. Yeah, that... that'd be good.

[ Yuri offers him the tiniest smile that's gone a moment later.

Sure, his omen should be able to find Yuri. Omens are smart like that. Yuri isn't thinking about it, either, sure that they'll figure it out somehow.

He doesn't know what else to say, either, tired and drained from the last two weeks. So, with a little nod, he cuts the feed ]

Yeah, kind of a gift from Ramona after one of us died too many times in the nightmare. [He says it in a distracted way because he's trying to put mustard on this corn dog.] I'm on the boardwalk, just take a lamp over.

[vibing]

[ Well, that... is sure something. He blinks, then, well, he can leave the house now, why not? Instead of using a lamp, he just cuts off the feed and pops over there, appearing next to Lance in a puff of darkness and sparkles. Darkblood stuff, you know.

He looks around, brows raised ]

Damn, how long's this been here?
