Hang in there, everyone... This should just be only a couple weeks more right? The darkness at least. I've been on a planet for so long I forgot how to manage the darkness effects at first...
But take it from me and some other folks who worked or lived in space-
Try your best to keep a routine of "day" and "night" hours so your body has some sense of cadence
It should help you feel less messed up when theres no daylight to rely on
(To say nothing of the bugs which you should already know to be avoiding by now)
I'll try to think up any other good tips but the sleep cycles a big one
If you need help getting around too let me know
I don't mind lending a hand

Good point; a strictly regimented routine for day/night would be my first piece of advice too.

If you don't mind me adding:
1. Spending as much time as possible with other people is equally key. Do anything, but not alone.
2. Eat your vitamin supplements.

Sidebar, are we certain it's only going to be a few more weeks?

Right. Personally I'm not sure what to do with a lunar cycle when it's just hanging there for days on end, not cycling.

You were there, in "the dream"? Did this one ever happen, back then?

The end, then? Sorry, I don't know much about that particular era besides bits and pieces. If it's a hassle to recall, don't mind me.

Granted, I'd wager plenty of people around here might prefer fog and straightforward hostile creatures to what's going on now.

I don't disagree. They're not really comparable circumstances, but I can understand the psychological difference between wallowing in uncertainty about when the sun will come back and knowing definitively that a monster is dead.

Not for me, or anything, I'd be eaten in a heartbeat.

The tolls are different. That's all.

Twice. Why, is it supposed to be a rite of passage? Bleak.

That's a fair hit. Trust me, I'm not trying to do it again, or let it happen to anyone else. Broadly, the situation is lose-lose; if there was a convenient kind of suffering that didn't put at least one person through hell, it would be called something else.

So. I'm not pushing for more fog, fewer butterflies. Sorry.

Still: the buddy system helps in either circumstance.

Right. I'd say anyone with a friend they like enough to let them smack them upside the head when they get butterfly-dosed, make it official now.
Or avoid the bugs, but I haven't noticed any actual pattern for where they go.

I might have spent an afternoon (maybe?) doing a lot of hasty spinning around while squinting and trying to extrapolate from there. I don't recommend it for the obvious reasons, and also for anyone with dignity.

Those lights they leave behind could be tracked, though.

Something like that; I'm still wrapping my head around "light made of hope and you feel better when you touch it," but proof is proof. I have a few in a jar.

It's the medium that gets me; hope as a tangible resource.
It does, though. I'm saving what I have for another time; getting caught in a hope -> hopeless loop by hanging around those things seemed like a bad idea.

Is that an offer for me too?

[He is kind of Opinionated Online, he knows this can chafe.]

If so: I have more jars. We can split the overall take.

Right. Hold on.

[He'll fiddle with the omni to swap to video, revealing Nerd with Glasses. He squints, then holds up a hand. Howdy.]

I'm Palamedes. D'you have a favorite neighborhood, for light collecting?

I can also be a lamp buddy, if anybody needs a lil extra light therapy to ward off the SAD ☀️
