I do not know for certain, but from what I have gathered there are rituals that may help. Largely to do with blood, and often needed two people.

[Carmilla flutters in front of the door. under normal circumstances, she'd have screamed at seeing a stranger outside of her person's house, but Carmilla knows as well as all of the others that their mother is in pain, pain she can't possibly hope to alleviate on her own.

[viktor follows, the clack of his cane on the steps as he takes in the surroundings. normally he'd be more curious but given the circumstances he feels a level of urgency, unsure of how far this has gone. he's seen it get violent, but even without that the emotional toll is a dangerous matter, corruption and twisting thoughts.

[there's a reason why the house is called The Maze. generally speaking, only Tinya and her coterie of felines can find their way around the place easily. everywhere are stained glass windows and stained glass in the doors. Carmilla keeps looking back at Viktor to make sure he's still there, mewing as she flies along the route with her bat wings.

and Moonlight only speaks when there's something urgent, regarding him carefully. her tail has almost returned to its usual state, though it's still twitching with agitation. Good. That's terrible. A terrible number of ghosts to be tormented by. Mine aren't so many, but some are people I never wanted to see again.

When you're piloting a 250ft tall robot and battling kaiju, there's some collateral. I only recognize a couple of them, so I'm guessing the rest are people that got caught in the way.
