Lately I've been thinking a lot about the surrounding areas. The places beyond Trench. I'm thinking about doing some traveling and was curious to see if I could get some information while I make a plan.
So just a couple of quick questions.
How far have people traveled? And idea of miles would be particularly helpful. Are there any specific risks to be aware of? And what advice would you offer?
I think that should cover it.
Oh and thank you in advance!

Is the church the farthest that you know of?

And yes it is, though I'm still rather new here, so others might have a better idea.

I wonder if anyone has mapped the area.

But - they - don't they say it's um. It's. Dangerous? Really. Really dangerous?

[ Now they just need Naruto, and no one would stand a chance, right? ]

Just - just you two?

It's about thirty miles out, but without a group to fight off the constant attacks doing anything productive there will be extremely difficult.
The higher levels of blood corruption and pollution are a bigger problem, but I'm working on options for that.

Thankfully, I'm taking someone with me who has the ability to put up a protective cover. I do worry about the corruption levels for him, but I can protect him, so between the two of us, I feel safe enough.

The earthquake last month is a bad sign.

I wonder if there are any settlements at all out there. I mean, there must be others who inhabit this world, but whether we can get to them or not is another matter.

But lately... things are changing. Lately, he's been making more of an active effort to be helpful, because there are things he can offer. )
When someone I know turned into a Beast.... she ran out past the edges of the city. Out where the woods are. ( Trenchwood. He swallows, eyes wide and clearly nervous to be speaking up about this. Not to mention that it's hard in general to look back on that time. It still hurts deeply to think about. )
I don't know the exact miles, but... I followed her for as long as I could. At least a couple hours, until I got lost... It's pretty bad out there. Almost impossible to see where you're going, and... I could hear things, in the trees. I could tell I wasn't alone.
( Fortunately, he had a demon inside of him to take over and keep him safe at some point, but...! )
There's creatures out there in Trenchwood. ....Dangerous ones.

[ Sakura listens intently to the new pieces of advice. She hadn't yet heard about this. ]
Yeah, I expect you weren't alone out there. I hadn't heard about the low visibility. Was it dark or foggy?
Oh, and did you come across the creatures, or did you just hear them?
cw: nondescriptive mention of dead animals
Kind of both — dark, foggy in some places. Mostly it's... really thick. It took me a long while to just make my way in. You'd probably need really thick, protective clothes. I got cut a lot.
( Much of that time is still weirdly hazy, but Peter remembers getting pretty bloodied up. )
I didn't come across any myself, so I'm not sure exactly what might be.... out there. But the fact she wanted to run and hide out there makes me wonder... if other people who reach Beasthood could be lurking in Trenchwood, too.

[ She looks thoughtful for a moment. ]
You might be on to something. It would make some sense that the beasts out in the wild were once human or any number of other species. If that were the case, could you imagine if there were a way to bring them back from that brink?

The ravens here won't venture out much further than the people do; too many ravens haven't come back. They won't fly very high, either. The sky is filled with Pthumerians, and they're very often angrier than the ones at sea. And the gulls don't fly very far out that way, not much farther than the fishing boats.
[saukura has probably heard enough to understand how sakura's powers work by now, between their training and sasuke's. she smiles wearily.]
I could look around with Vhagar for you, but i should hate for her to have to spill beast blood.

Birds are highly intelligent, so I'm sure they know things that even we don't.
[ The last thing she would want is for Vhagar to get hurt. ]
That's very kind of you to offer, but I'll have Sasuke-kun with me, so we'll be okay.
Though there is something I could use your help with if you have time.

Oh! Of course. Many of my clients have been too busy for fittings, of late.

It's supposed to be extremely hazardous, however. the protections of Trench aren't there yet. But they managed to begin the process.
no subject
Maybe I could help with the protections in some way.
