Any chance that Princess Alayne Fancy Satchel's around to hear this? It's Lady Sturdy Rucksack.
[She has no idea how long it's been. But ...why the fuck not. And who on the network needs context? Pfft.]

That's not even a colour.
lmao
Y'know, you're half right. Not a color, but it's also not my real name.

Vi! Where are you? I can't believe I didn't see you! Are you hungry? Do you need shoes? I found my boots in my satchel, the last time.
voice
[she didn't exactly expect this - it was more of a casual wish, a general 'why the fuck not', but her mouth drops open when she hears the reply - and a voice from a dream becomes less there and more here. !!!]
Alayne! Same place different ...time, I guess. Different bench, too. The map says Crenshaw. The little book had some more to say this time, so I... [is she sitting outside the orphanage? yes.] The whole thing went a lot quicker this time, like I remembered how to not be a squid, but somehow I didn't remember to ask for a bag with shoes.
[If Alayne is here, are any of the others she remembers? Is her sister here?]
Yeah. Yes. I am definitely hungry. And I'm definitely glad to hear your voice! Holy shit, Princess, how long was I ...out?

You weren't there when I woke up the last time. They called it March? They call it July, now.
[she says the names of the months a little skeptically, even still. that they are different from the moons is just confusing.]
I had to win back my satchel, at darts, [she did not actually throw any of the darts, and the prize games had ostensibly been varied, but all involved throwing things at a target–therefore, darts] at the Moss King's festival, but at least there was food. I noticed The Reckoning's people didn't seem very interested in it.
[at least vi missed sansa's cursed-lemon-induced rampage at the last month's festival, though sansa doesn't doubt that she would have found it very funny.]
Do you see a stone building with a black and white banner that has a sort of gold creature with wings on it? That's the Sanctuary, and you'll find food there. Very often shoes, too.
[she tosses the sandals in her satchel just in case, and proceeds back down the stairs.]
Tell them you know me, and they'll give you anything you want. I could meet you there very quickly. If you see a lantern with imps around it, you could ask them for the Sanctuary too. They'll take you. It's...magic. My friend Adaine calls it...teleportation, I think.
[she smiles to herself.]
I'm very glad to hear your voice, too.

July, huh? [So it's been a ...while.] They've got a lot of names for things here, don't they? Missed a whole festival with games and food and came back just in time for [huff] whatever this is. [bad vibes everywhere. no welcome wagon like before.]
I guess I can see you kicking ass at darts. You were really fast with that needle.
[There'd been the offer of a petticoat, too - she remembers that now - lightly snorting at the idea of it. Ridiculous, but absolutely kind and - it had been cold. She can't recall the last time anyone had made her ...anything. (Well, she could if she tried but that's a path that's not wanted now, and it's easy to give it the slip - as slippery as her mind is just now.) No imps that she sees outside the orphanage, but as much as she's done this before she's never been this far before - that she remembers - and that floating feeling? Yeah. That's a thing, too. It's like Alayne had described before. A little wobbly with the walking. So she'll walk it out.]
I...yeah. I see---
---okay. I see it. Meet you there in five minutes? Unless I suddenly end up back in the ocean until the next March or July or Moss Party. Sorry in advance if that's the deal.
[j/k j/k. mostly.]

"Princess Fancy Satchel"?
[ He's trying so hard not to sound amused. ]

I wonder what she'll choose to call you.

Ah... [ Crap. He's had enough of terrible nicknames to last a lifetime. This is what he gets for being cheeky. ]
Hopefully just "Allen."

Where the hell've you been anyway, Fisty?
[Cocoon? Probably a cocoon. Or maybe this mouthy asshole got herself killed and took for-fucking-ever to squid her way back.]
voice
Nope. But it would sure explain some things. Well, I was here for about ...I dunno ...some hours, and then I was uh, not. Just back in the water, I guess. And then back on the beach. Did I hit you in the face with ice?
[Is that how I know you?]
no subject
What????
It might not sound like confusion, since his gravely voice is just permanently pissed off sounding but uh.
He is. None of that makes sense, from where he stands. Context is important. ]
No, just with your fists. And your thick ass skull. [Still genuinely salty about the broken nose she gave him while he was trying to save her, don't even @ him. Not even gonna remind her about the foot to the groin that followed and dropped him like a sack of bricks. Fuck you eternally for that, Vi.] If you're not high, why're you rambling like you don't even know which fuckin' way is up?
[At least he's to the point. ]
voice
Maybe it's this thick skull of mine.
[She likes to the point. But is she choosing route-->smartass? ✔✔✔]

You know Miss Alayne? [ fancy... satchel??? ]
voice
[...before she slid back into the sea]
Only friend, actually. [Would she normally share this much? Probably not. But these are strange times, she's not fully herself, and this has really caught her off guard in the best possible way.] You a friend of hers?
no subject
Mn. [ A curious pause, smiling more. ] She's one of my best friends, actually. For quite a while now.
I'm not surprised if the two of you are close, she's a very reliable sort of person. [ Easy to be friends with. ]
My name is Allen Walker.

[faux formal, and also smiling]
Pleased to meet you Allen Walker. I'm Vi.

I'm a friend of hers. Hello. I'm guessing your name isn't actually Lady Sturdy Rucksack?
voice
It's good to know she had people here. Has people, I mean. I guess I expected her to be gone, too.
no subject
[There's a smile on her face to indicate she's clearly joking.]
I think I understand what you mean. I've only been here a few months, and in that time a fair few people have left.
no subject
[she knows it's a joke, but she can't not test it. it's two, and they're actually (shockingly) not her middle fingers.]
That's what I'm hearing. Does anyone know why so many? I'm not complaining, because damn, it's great being lucky for once, [kinda.] but...
...is it the usual for this place?

Well, she's so confused by it that she can't help but reply all the same. ]
Are we.. using codenames here now?
[ That's kind of what the ones this person is using sound like to her, anyway. ]
voice
no subject
[ Give her a moment to process this. Chizuru at least gets the concept of codenames, but inside jokes are a little more new.
She catches on to the meaning though, softly humming once she thinks she understands. ]
I guess it's.. kind of cute. I mean, having a special way to call someone that only you know.. It's a sign that you're close!
voice
I didn't expect it to stick either way, at the time. But it did, and it was just ...me that didn't stick. [huff
[vague? why, yes. she's not used to being this open with her feelings - it's a temporary byproduct of being not quite herself yet.]
