[It's disgustingly hot and humid and even with most of her hair pulled up and twisted back away from her face, she's got curly tendrils hanging down and a light sheen on her forehead. Ugh. But at least she's back to finding things to keep herself busy.]

Catching up on the insane shit y'all love to get up to, but what little changes, a lot stays the same, doesn't it? Like how I still don't know who most of you asses are. Keeping track of the coming and goings ain't easy. Anyone keeping a list?

I've wondered the same about a list for a long time..., I sort of keep to myself, but it's so hard trying to keep track!

[She huffs a little in half-amusement.]

Too many show up and leave everything month to know everyone. It's like trying to know every student in a school of 2000. Who has time for that?

That seems like such an incomprehensible number, but I'm sure my high school probably had that many... Not in just one class, at least.

Boarding schools be like that. Turning themselves into mini-towns of their own. [She gives a bit of a shrug.]

My name's Saeri. Don't think I remember you from around before, either.

I think I'll count myself lucky I didn't have to live at school. [She looks just slightly disquieted by the notion, but it's slight.]

[And then she perks up and almost drops her device, squawking faintly as the feed shakes horribly.] Oh, my God. I'm sorry! It's nice to meet you, Saeri-- I'm Sumire!

[Saeri can't help but snort and shake her head just a bit. A little high-strung, this one, but she's cute.]

Nice to meet you, Sumire. No need to apologize. Not every day cute girls chat me up out of nowhere. Gonna say I like the turnaround.

[There’s a funny little squeak that might come from Sumire, but it sounds a bit like a dog’s chew toy being stepped on, so it’s hard to say. She turns a startled pink, but bows slightly anyway.]

Well, that’s very kind of you to say! I’m doing my best to put myself out there a little more than I have been.

[Oh dear. How is she not supposed to take advantage of someone who reacts like that? Nothing to perk the mood than flustering a pretty girl with no strings attached.]

Well, I appreciate you're putting in that effort, since it means we get to talk now. Maybe we can swap notes later after we get those lists going.

[She's still very young at heart, and provides much teasing fodder despite her best efforts. The feed shifts as she sets the device on her knees, and she brings her hands up to smack both of her cheeks lightly before picking it back up.]

Very pleased to make your acquaintance, and-- of course. I've been meaning to pick up a new notebook.

Oh, so we'd need to meet in person to share what we've found? I'm good with that.

[She gives a little wink.]

I could even offer you a free ink for the information.

[For a moment, "ink" confuses her, but then she remembers Saeri's mention of tattoos, and she frowns thoughtfully.]

I'm not so sure about tattoos-- I certainly don't mind if others have them, but I'm only sixteen, and my father is a pretty traditional Japanese man... Assuming it carried over if I ever got home, that is.

[She doesn't tease her about it. That counts for something, maybe.]

Oh, I see. Not the kind of line you want to cross yet. I can respect that. I could still give you a charm or a runestone. They come in handy.

[Something, surely.]

[She perks up at the mention of a charm, though.] Oh? I'm a big believer in good luck charms.

[Saeri laughs.]

So you're interested in my charms? I'll take it. I have some standard ones I make, but I like to personalize them more. Just need to get to know you better.

[MA'AM STOP SHE MAY ACTUALLY TURN INTO A TOMATO. There's a funny little squeak of sound and Sumire covers her face with both her hands.]

Well, that can certainly be arranged.

[Then she's doing things right.]

How lucky for me. I currently have a very open schedule, so whenever you have the time, we can call it a date.

Oh! Well. Gosh, okay! Um--

[She scribbles out the address where she generally works-- it's Cellar Door, which is telling, but she completely forgets to explain that she's a Nightwalker.] I'm usually here, if not at home, unless you'd prefer I come to see you sometime.

Oh, I'm more than okay with visiting you instead, if you want it that way.

[The location is interesting. She wonders just how much time she spends there.]

I hope I won't be too much of a distraction from your work.

[SWEATS...,]

[But she shakes her head gently.] I'm mostly a dancer, and it's something I enjoy, and... something that I can get other people to join in on, so. It's a bit of a step to the left of my usual, but I'm having fun so far.

A dancer? You're full of surprises. I like it.

[She loved watching the Spirit Dancers back home. The kind of skill, rhythm, and grace? Yeah, that wasn't Saeri's style. Especially the graceful part. She can dance but it's not the same as someone who really knows what they are doing.]

[Her hands cover her face again, leading her to balance her omni on her knees.]

Thank you. I'm-- more of a gymnast, but it works well enough to translate to dancing... I think, at least.

Gymnastics is just power-dancing. Once you know how to do it to a beat, what's the difference? I'm sure it keeps you on your toes and just as flexible.
