[Kazuma is obviously in the Archives. The looming shelves, claustrophobic framing, and dim lighting is more than enough to give that away. There are open tomes around him, but he isn't reading any of them; instead, he's considering the camera with a quizzical look, chin in his hand as he leans on the table he's at.]

Before the patrons of this place decide to plague us with more of the same, I have a mundane question for all of you.

We have many places we can choose to make our homes here. I am currently in Crenshaw, previously in Willful Machine...I moved with someone I know well. The point being, there are reasons we choose these places, correct?

What drew you to yours? What merits does it have to have others consider it? Is it because of people you know, or something else?

[He sighs and drums his fingers on the tabletop.] I just never really gave my own lodging much thought...I am wondering if most of us settle where it is convenient, or if we find other reasons to gravitate to where we end up.

I mean-- if it's just a place to sleep at, then it doesn't matter much, does it? But if you mean to spend more time in there...like when you got busted up that one time...then... [y'know.]

I suppose you have a point.but to some people it may be more than just a place to rest when you're weary. A home is...more than that, and if a home is what they wish to make then they may look for more than a mere roof over their head.

Okay but-- you, though? Is it like you said, not thinking much about it still? Or are things changing?

I'm not looking to move anywhere if that's what you're asking. I just...I suppose, if we don't know how long we'll be here, making it more of a home tan just a place to lay our heads wouldn't be so bad.

Besides, I tried moving out once. You two found me on a beach.

But the fact remains that I'm not looking to move now.

Well, okay. Then...you're just looking for things to make what you got feel more...what. Familiar?

Familiar...lived in? I think we might have more books here than most comforts found in a home. [Though that statement earns a fond sounding laugh. They both know who is likely to blame for all those books.]

Yes. That's as good a place to start as any.

Just...given our conversation, it's such a mundane suggestion. It caught me off guard. It's a good suggestion. Truly.

The last time I had to think about that was when I left for England and...[Oh. Well...he already stepped in it, might as well just put it out there.] And I asked Ryuu to come with me.

hastily, to try to make up for it:] Ye-yeah, well! It’s fine. That’s…that was all before and stuff. Not like I can be fussy about that.

People can make places feel like home, even if they aren't from your home originally. If they make you feel welcome and...cared for. The connections are what matter.
