There are open tomes around him, but he isn't reading any of them; instead, he's considering the camera with a quizzical look, chin in his hand as he leans on the table he's at.]

Before the patrons of this place decide to plague us with more of the same, I have a mundane question for all of you.

We have many places we can choose to make our homes here. I am currently in Crenshaw, previously in Willful Machine...I moved with someone I know well. The point being, there are reasons we choose these places, correct?

What drew you to yours? What merits does it have to have others consider it? Is it because of people you know, or something else?

[He sighs and drums his fingers on the tabletop.] I just never really gave my own lodging much thought...I am wondering if most of us settle where it is convenient, or if we find other reasons to gravitate to where we end up.

I chose Cellar Door since that's the home of Night Walkers and because I could get this gorgeous house for a steal. There's room for me, my Omen, my kittens, and my batkitten with room to spare for those who might need a Night Walker's more...intimate treatments. [she shrugs idly] It made sense at the time and it continues to make sense.

My house in Gaze was a simple choice. Room for roommates should I choose--and I do, though no one has taken me up on the offer--and room for myself and my Omen, a canary named Melody. I've since added a batcat named Muffin to the household, but he's gentle and cleaves only to me.

During my travels through England, I admired their cottages and was happy to find this: rather far more roomy on the inside than on the outside. If you know of anyone who may be in search of a roommate, please direct them my way!

England does have its charms with housing and cottages. I can hardly blame you for such a choice, especially when it sounds so accommodating to your needs.

I must admit, I haven't taken much time to explore the area around Gaze. Perhaps I should.

Well, um, I chose a house in Gaze 'cause I figured I'd be spending most of my time there since I'm an Arcane Scholar. But I've decided to open my own bookstore and comics shop in Willful Machine and the commute's been a pain in the ass.

Though, one floor of the house I use for the Satellite is for books and the second is for comics and manga, so it's not like I could move there if I wanted to. Besides, it's kind of cool waking up in my own bedroom without seeing Cassie across from me every day.

You would think with the time I spend there, I'd know Gaze's charms rather well. But I haven't explored it much. I go where I'm needed and that's...that.

Having ones privacy is novel. Though...why not look for something close to the shop?

I work in Cellar Door, so I found a place here... I think I might move, though. It's too loud for my tastes, and in too much disrepair.

Ah. The level of disrepair is why I left the place in Willful Machine for where I am in Crenshaw. I don't mind a little work, but it...was more than minor repairs.

Then we had similar reasons to go where we did. Familiar things are safer, aren't they?

I moved to Cassandra because that's where the first people I met lived and I wanted to move in with them, but if it wasn't for that I'd probably live in the Gaze. There's so many books there and it's close to the ocean, so it would have everything I need!

If a friend of mine hadn't been here already, I likely would have chosen to stay where those I first met were as well.

I'll admit that Gaze has a draw to it. If I were to move again, I'd go there, I think. I'm fond of the books as well. Ah...is there a reason the ocean being close by would be a selling point for you.

Honestly, I moved to Willful Machine initially because of the people. It was busy and reminded me a bit of London, though it could be quite a bit rowdy. It was difficult to sleep without the noise at first. Crenshaw is... more similar to the housing in England, isn't it? Quieter than most places in Trench. Not that anything is really quiet in Trench.

[And Manabu recommended it. Moving to something more familiar to him just made sense.]

This is why I was willing to follow along and let you make the decisions. Crenshaw is...quieter than the center of London's chaos, but it is familiar enough.

The home I had in Deerington was brought here and already placed in one of the districts when I arrived, so I didn't get any say in the matter. Not that I minded, I was merely glad to have all of the things that went with it still inside of the house.
