( It hasn't been long since their corruption skyrocketed and became out of control, but it feels like it's been weeks at this point. So many awful things had happened to them at once -- all of them becoming a catalyst to helping their partner fulfill their goals and seek power.

They haven't been doing well since. They've used the moondrops to bring their corruption level to a far more normal level for them, but what's done is done.

They don't say much when they address the network. It's a simple, but sincere message. )

Better than boring old nothing. Seeing people say sorry for nothing is usually because they're guilty of something that isn't a big deal. What'd you do?

It's like that here. It sounds like I'm right anyway. If you can't take it back, then you can't. What's the problem? I can't tell you if you're an asshole if I don't know what you did. And from what I heard, being sorry means admitting whatever you're sorry over.

( Those are words that Frisk takes to heart. They felt like they had tried their best to make up for what they had done the last time they had chosen a similar path. But, they don't know if they can make up for any of what they've done here. )

Then who cares? They don't know any different. If you can't say you're sorry, then it doesn't matter anymore. Likely it didn't to begin with.

Who are you apologizing to then? Who cares who you hurt if no one knows anymore. Don't focus on things that don't matter. Tell you what, as the stranger on the internet, I absolve you of all your sins. Is that better?

This is about death then. You can't apologize for death. Apologies are meant to make things better from what I've seen and no amount of "I'm sorry" is going to bring someone back. Better to just move on and not bother. Besides, a vague 'oops' won't do much either.

[Sometimes consequences are worse than the actions leading up to them, which sucks horridly for people with a conscience.]

I wouldn't have been upset to begin with. Kill or be killed and as it looks, I haven't had the Reaper hit q on me yet.

I watched people die this week. Wasn't me, but I watched them die. Let me ask you this way: What does your victim matter? Did you make a post over all the other dead people you don't know about, too? Don't they matter or they don't matter because you weren't there? They only matter to the people who make them matter and if they want revenge, then you have another questline all together. Until then, big deal.

( It's a lot to take in. Their attitude towards all of this reminds them of someone they know well at home. It takes them a while to respond, and they don't say far too much. However, Frisk was someone who said a lot with only a few words. )

even if they're dead now, what happened to them still matters. there isn't any taking back what happened to them or anyone who knew them

It's up to them what to do, not you. If they forgive you? Oh well. If they don't, then they'll get revenge. What is "Sorry" going to do if you are or aren't? Nothing.

You can't change anything. Not for their family, not for you and not them: They're dead.
