Hey there!
Ruby Rose here. If it's your first time seeing me around then it's nice to meet you and if it's not it's probably great to see you again!
So it turns out that this place is about as dangerous as the dream was. That kind of sucks, doesn't it? I mean- I'm used to all kinds of monsters in my original world but I totally get that it's not everyone's jam. which is kind of why I'm here today.
Back in the dream Mako and Wu had set up a safe house and supply cache system. I think it worked out really well and I've been speaking with Mako and we've agreed it might be a good idea to get that going again. I tried to convince him to get up on video with me but he got all grumbly and walked away. Introverts, am I right?
Ideally it would be super great to get one of these set up in each district but I figure that's going to take a lot of work. So I propose we set up the first one in either the Willful Machine or Cellar Door districts so it's in a central location and we can branch out from there.
Next we're going to need ways to defend and protect the area whether it's people actually actively hanging around, magical protection or whatever cool skills people might have. I'm open to any ideas here. Medical care and any sort of food or other supplies are also going to be necessary too.
Okay I think that's about everything-
[There's a buzz that comes from Ruby's Omni and she glances down at it.]
Oh-Oh! One second- It's Mako.
He's saying "We need to tie this into the network. Ask about extra lamp skeletons." Okay! First off! Rude. They're Cute Little Lamp Friends, don't call them skeletons.
But he's got a point! If anyone has any extra C.L.L.F's to lend that would be a huge help too. Being able to quickly access the locations would be a huge help.
Anyways that's all I can think of at the moment. If anyone has any questions or suggestions I'd be happy to answer them.
Since you're listening to this Mako, you can too!
[She points to her eyes, then back to the camera.]
Watching you.
[OOC: Ruby and Mako will be responding to this post. I've made a handy dandy page for the safe houses here. If you want you can post with how you're character is contributing there.]

So Ange figures she doesn't want to linger on that, instead trying to find something a bit more positive in all of this as well. ]
Okay, but aren't we going to talk about how sweet it is of you to do all this in the first place? It's so much like you to already be looking out for people, even though we haven't been here for long.
no subject
Still she feels a dopey grin play on her lips as her cheeks heat up a little.]
I mean- I guess we could. I'm just trying to help out, you know? It's what any monster fighter slash protector of the people would do, right?
no subject
[ Even though Ange knows it's a more common thing where Ruby comes from - perhaps it's why the other doesn't think that much of it, she figures. It's just a job where Ruby comes from, whereas in Ange's sort of world, she'd probably be seen more as a superhero. ]
There are plenty of people who don't step up to the plate when it's necessary. But you always do. [ (Which might be part of why Ange likes Ruby so much. Ssh, don't tell anyone.) ]
no subject
Okay and the countless monsters back home and here.
But you know what I mean.
[She rubs at the back of her head sheepishly as Ange says that.]
I guess I do. I don't really think of it like that though. I have the ability to help out, so I do. I think that's just the responsibility you have to bear when you have the power to.
And I hope by acting that it'll inspire other people to do what they can to. Doesn't have to be throwing down in a fight but there's plenty around that can be done.
no subject
So she just takes it in with a slight smile, before moving on to: ]
Have you seen any monsters here yet? What are they like?
no subject
The next question does her a touch more serious.]
More than a few here and there. There were people eating crabs out in the caves. They weren't big or anything but there were a bunch of them.
The Arena had a big variety of them. Wolf like monsters, some huge things with claws and horns. It was hard to keep track of 'em but I imagine they're running around out here too.
I don't know if they count as monsters but there were pirates too. They definitely weren't human but they were sentient enough to try and kidnap people.
no subject
.. It sounds a little generic, huh. [ The wolf monsters, mostly. ] You weren't having too much trouble with them, were you?
[ Ange doesn't recall seeing Ruby wounded this month, at least. And thank god for that. ]
no subject
[This isn't a video game, Ruby. They aren't saving monsters.]
No- With some help I've been doing fine. You should see this new guy here, Flynn. Really cool magic swordsman type.
no subject
Flynn?
[ Ange repeats the name, like she's trying to think about it. It somehow sounds familiar, but she isn't sure why - especially since she can't recall having met someone with that name. ]
It sounds like you're making new friends already. And of course you're going to remember them by their weapons, huh? [ Ange knows how Ruby works. ]
no subject
Yeah. I think he's a knight or something.
[She grins and rubs at the back of her head.]
Better to make allies than enemies, right? Plus if their my friends then I can totally check out their weapons at some point. Easier to admire them when they aren't trying to slice you in two.
Bet you've made some new friends too, huh?
no subject
[ .. okay, granted, Ange does.. have a lot of friends here! B-But don't misunderstand, b-baka! ]
I've mostly just been talking to the people I already knew from Deerington. We can't all be social butterflies like you. [ Not that it sounds like she thinks that's a bad thing. It suits Ruby that she is one! It makes her even more charming.
But Ange definitely doesn't get close to people as quickly. ]
no subject
[She smiles sweetly. She's just teasing on dear girlfriend.]
That's fair- I'm just glad there are people here you can lean on. Whether new or old. I guess you can just make your own social butterflies, huh?
Get it, because of your magic.
no subject
But then she does end up giving in, letting out a brief laugh. ]
Yes, yes, I get it. [ That was the worst possible joke. Ruby, please don't make her laugh with this material. ]
And I'm sure you're aware most people aren't as persistent with you. There's a lot of people who would just give up when they realise that it takes way too long to become friends with me, you know.
no subject
Oh phew- I was worried it might be a bit too high brow.
[I was the lowest of low brows.]
Maybe a little. But I'm sure if they knew how worth it was, they wouldn't give up so easily.
no subject
I'm stuck between the hard place of my girlfriend making awful puns, and the rock of my girlfriend saying way too nice things to me.
no subject
Wish I had some tips on how deal with it. But I think you're trapped.
no subject
But then the corners of her lips turn up as she has an idea. ]
Don't worry. I think I have an idea of how to deal with it.
[ And with that, she shuts down the feed. Look, Ruby, she has a solution! You can't say nice things to her when she isn't here to listen in the first place. ]
no subject
[And then the feed shuts down.]
Did- Did she just hang up on me!?
I can't believe she just hung up on me!?
