[OOC: This is this month's network post for stuff relating to the Outpost Haven location/player plot]

[The video is once again made from the Staging Point in Crenshaw for Outpost operations. This time it's focused on drawings of the current state of the location; there's a blood ward at the outer wall line and a barrier ward around the bunk house and garden. The outer wall is complete except for the gate and the bunkhouse is complete and has places for a couple dozen people to sleep if they don't mind how close everything is.

There are dotted lines detailing the next phase of construction.]

We're working on making an outpost about thirty miles west of Trench. The outer wall is mostly complete and there's a place to sleep but not much else just yet.

I'm providing food and lodging either in town or out there to anyone who helps with the outpost project whether that's construction, fighting beasts, or providing other skills or materials. Any earth or stone related abilities will be very useful and I'll offer trade items for anyone willing to help with that.

In addition to the materials we're gathering so far there's a useful substance made from Vileblood, Darkblood, and Coldblood that can fuse stone together when applied to the surface of a stone wall or used as mortar so we'll be trading for blood as well.

I've used them. Getting more critical difficult resources is fine. I can teach anyone who isn't familiar.

Yes. The revised material lists with the new mortar is at the outpost as well, assuming we can get enough.

When the main hall is finished there will be a celebration for everyone's hard work. If you have ideas beyond food, alcohol, and music I'm open to hearing them. You spend more time with construction and day time guards than I do.

Those usually go well. For a celebration itself, means to relax—games, quieter and more social spaces. Something to take home, end of the day, would be impactful but harder to plan/come by.

I can help with constructing if it's something big, and I can give you a lot of Vileblood at once. It would be heavy pollution though, I think. That's my only worry.

The Outpost is starting to feel like it needs a moat. A drawbridge would probably be a lot of work, though.

Keeping the moat from getting clogged with rotting beast corpses would be much more difficult than a drawbridge.

That sounds like you're volunteering to handle corpse hauling. It's just the bodies, right?

Yeah, sure. I don't mind adding that to my duties. Depends? Sometimes things linger if they had a strong enough desire.

So, the little side project is actually moving forward.
I'm currently still watching the streets this month, since we seem to have more monster activity.
But I can probably spare a bit of blood for the project at the least.

Blood mortar? That is so Trench.

[ .. well. It's the first time Daniel is really hearing about this, as new and immediately busy as he has been ever since arriving here only a short while ago. And it's not that he thinks it's a bad project, but something about it does stand out enough to him to reply. ]

There's a lot of excavation to be done and trees to be moved. Help with that would be very useful.

We're taking measures to keep blood pollution and corruption in check.

It's not what I'd prefer, but manufacturing options here are much more limited.

Sleepers are more durable than humans. I didn't realize that applied to surviving alcohol poisoning.

Normal mortar, yes. But not the kind that fuses stone blocks into a seamless or near-seamless structure.

We're a bit short on the manufacturing technology and supplies to make those.

[D's working with what he has here. He's still trying to find a good solution to plumbing and septic problems in the absence of organic matter reprocessing technology.]

I'm continuing to serve as a guard and a medic, though it's grown difficult: someone who mattered to me returned to the sea. And I have started to sense the pull of the sea myself. I suppose it's especially strong in Mariana's month.

If Vileblood is needed for the construction, I'd be willing to offer some of mine.

Before I came here I met someone who could ease those who lingered on their way.

Let's try not to get the place haunted before it's even built.
