[it's sansa, at the sanctuary this time! because her omen is recording this, she holds her blood hound knight on a leash. he wears a handsome leather harness. for her part sansa wears a charcoal dress with ravens around the shoulders, and lady sits next to her in a matching embroidered collar. this is outside of sansa's usual wheelhouse, both literally and figuratively, and she compensates her nerves with extra poise, her hands clasped together in front of her chest.]
Hallo, this is Sansa Stark with the Sanctuary in Crenshaw. We have noticed a number of Sleepers coming into our infirmary with a strange rash very similar to greyscale.
[greyscale, the common childhood illness everyone knows about. sansa had never seen it in winterfell, as it favors warmer, wetter climates, but even in the north they told stories of the strange, violent stone men of the rhoyne, who had contracted it as adults and never recovered. this new illness reminds her very much of that. she has no reason to believe greyscale is specific to her world alone.]
They have mentioned a sudden increase in strength and stamina as well. These are the early signs of a very dangerous sickness, which can turn people into stony, mindless creatures very like greyscale does when it's contracted late enough in life. The treatment is a blood transfusion, a very large one, and we ask anyone who has noticed these symptoms to seek it here or at the Lumenarium.
These transfusions can take a lot of blood, so we are asking everybody able to come here and donate theirs. You will be fed for your trouble, and anyone may seek additional compensation if they want it. Of course Warmblood is best for transfusions, since anyone can receive it, but we welcome donations of all blood types. We have a number of healers and Blood Ministers already here to retrieve the blood safely and comfortably, but we won't turn away any more help, either.
[she smiles as gratefully as she can manage.]
Thank you for your time, prudence, and generosity. This won't interfere with our usual business at the Sanctuary, and everyone is welcome to stay and rest here as long as they like after giving blood. We hope to see a good many of you soon.
[the log for the blood drive can be found here. it's completely open and will run for most of the rest of august as needed. feel free to toplevel with whatever your character is doing!!]

[Look, they have magic, and while the chirurgeons are good they're not at blood transfusion levels yet.]
Can coldblood or darkblood be collected and transferred to someone else? I thought they became a problem once they were out of the body.
no subject
Blood transfusions are a very common practice in Blood Ministry. I imagine it concerns itself with the extraction of difficult blood types as well. A little magic from the Sleepers themselves should be enough to keep it in liquid form, at least.

[Much to his frustration, but he supposes he can't be great at everything. So he'd avoided the Blood Ministers for the most part...]
I see. I'll assist if you need more hands - I'm a coldblood myself, I don't know if you have much need of that. Though you did say you need all types... I'm willing to help in any way I can.
no subject
Thank you. I doubt we'll have enough Warmblood for everybody. If we can treat a Coldblood with Coldblood, we can save it for someone else.
[she considers a moment.]
It may be that we'll need to bring the blood to other places, and Coldblood magic would certainly be a help. And if someone should need their transfusion performed outside for any reason, I imagine Coldblood magic would be very useful in keeping the blood from spoiling.
Blood Ministry is all manner of healing magic and medicine, anything that will treat sickness or heal a wound. I should think those who struggle with healing magic of their own might find it helpful to visit the Lumenwood from time to time.
[sansa is learning medical jutsu, but some things come easier to her than others.]

[He's had to drive some off from near the house, since it's all the way out in Feed. Not to mention the occasional fights he finds himself in otherwise...]
I'm still working on learning how to use my blood magic, but I can do my best to help. And I can run and get food for those working, so you don't have to go find it yourself.

I have a few vials of cold blood already extracted. [(Thanks Viktor) Light green eyes trail off camera before returning. ] Also I can also drop off some extra meat for Lady too.
no subject
Well, Lady would appreciate that very much, and so would I. Even a few vials would be a help.
[not...very much of one, especially since coldblood can only be given to other coldbloods, but megumi looks tired and should probably be checked for grey patches, or at least made to rest at the sanctuary for a while.]

[Yes, it's the child who went around killing people, here to offer blood like nothing happened.]
I won't give all of it, of course, I need it.
[...]
For the record, Greyscale isn't an actual medical condition on Earth.
no subject
That would be very helpful, thank you. Anything you can spare.
[she might have offered to make a less dangerous person bloodstone instead. she won't turn them down, if they ask. but then she frowns gently.]
Greyscale is a common enough sickness on my world. I imagine it might be so on some others, as well. It turns your skin to something like stone. Children survive it well enough, but it's said that no one who catches it once they've grown has ever recovered. Their whole body turns to stone, and it's said they lose their minds as well. Those that suffer this sickness long enough certainly do, and they seem to grow tentacles, and become very strong.
[would it be helpful to say greyscale spreads from contact, when she isn't sure how this illness spreads? sansa is reminded of the useless squid statues she'd pulled up from the boats as a seal, but she doesn't know quite what to make of it.]
It's very important we treat it quickly, when the patches first appear, or we'll have a much more difficult time of it.
no subject
[Medically, it's a bit insane!!]
I hope you aren't treating these conditions like they're the same.
no subject
Oh, of course not. I'm not a Blood Minister; they just taught me how to do the needles. I've never even heard of anyone doing a blood transfusion in my world; it would be very useful on the battlefield.
I just thought it might help people to know what to look for, so they could come in for treatment.

Oh, we could always use more healers at the Sanctuary. We care very much about all forms of suffering, and we have our own infirmary here. You can come whenever you like, and if you're interested in more healing work, I have some friends that could use the help as well.

I don't know that it's any more of an emergency today than it would be tomorrow, but we should be glad to have you whenever you'd like to come.

That would be wonderful, thank you. I'm afraid even Sleepers can only donate a pint of blood at a time, but a good night's sleep should be enough to replenish your stores so that you might give it again the next day.

Warmblood is the best for blood transfusion, it's the universal donor. Just by giving blood you're doing more to help than most of the rest of us can. You might ask the healers if there's anything else you could do for them, though. We have a kitchen staff, but I've been helping to bring people a little food and drink before they have to stand up. And you mustn't forget to eat once you've given blood, either.
no subject
Oh! Is it? I hadn't a clue! I'll have to be sure to donate as much as I can then! It's so nice to know I can help that way! Thank you for telling me, truly!
This is very so kind of you. I hope someone has brought you something to eat and drink with all the hard work you're doing as well.
no subject
I should think the Lumenarium would trade a good deal for it. They'd certainly be glad of any donations.
[she smiles and leans forward conspiratorially.]
They give me all the biscuits I like, in the kitchens.
[sansa's not one for physical deprivation.]
It's all easier than it was last month, anyway, with the corruption and the fighting. I hardly had any time to sew.
[she's making this appeal now because she didn't have many appointments today, but really the blood drive doesn't need her to do very much, now that she's set it up. they've made the sanctuary so that it more or less runs itself, though they do need allen to actually cleanse the beasts, and sansa does most of the administrative work.]
no subject
Oh yes, I quite agree! Last month was so terribly tense... ah, that makes me realize I should ask: a broken arm won't be a hindrance to donating, will it?
no subject
So long as you can use one of your elbows, there shouldn't be any trouble in finding a vein.
[perhaps someone around the sanctuary would be able to accelerate the healing, but sansa doesn't like to get people's hopes up if she's not sure she can deliver.]
I'm very sorry to hear that you were hurt. I hope it finishes healing very quickly. Sleepers are said to be sturdier now than we were before we came here, and we recover quicker, too.

Thank you, I'm afraid someone was just very rough in July. I was pushed right into a storefront window. But I'm much better now. All the little cuts and bruises are mostly healed.
