If it gets on the Omni too, I don't care what John taught us about hubris, I'm going to- ah, there.
[Sayo is sitting on the rim of her bath with a robe tossed around her shoulders but otherwise wearing nothing else aside from an ireful expression. Fragments of Sleeper cocoon are strewn across the bathroom floor—a shard can even be found on her shoulder. The most eye-catching feature of this broadcast, however, is the sticky fluid that's still gumming up Sayo's hair.]
Cannot believe that after weeks of nothing but napping I'm still feeling exhausted... Ahem. First of all, today is August 25th, which is Jessica Ushiromiya's birthday. Everyone, wish her a happy birthday or I'll lay a curse on you so foul even the rats won't dare to pick at your corpse. [It's hard to tell whether the deadpan affect is because she's cracking a joke or if she means it and is too discombobulated to give her threat the proper weight. Hopefully it's the former, but the latter is not out of the question.]
Now, while it was already a minor miracle that I woke up in time to wish my dear girlfriend a happy birthday and I should be thanking my lucky stars for it, this, [she gestures at the mess of cocoon fluid in her hair,] is absolutely unacceptable to be dealing with today of all days. I'm given to understand that it breaks down on its own after a few hours but I need to get it out of my hair RIGHT NOW considering the date, and it seems resistant to normal haircare products.
Does anyone have any advice? I'll take anything at this point.

[Break -- who, to be fair, currently has a loose ponytail flopped over his left shoulder that would obviously hit his waist if let free and who was definitely still only shaggy at best a couple months ago -- is helping.
Probably.
Maybe? ...probably.]

[Break gets a distinctly unsafe feeling as Sayo's face changes, switching to a perfectly polite (and eerily familiar if he remembers that one time sand got dumped in his hair) expression as she raises her hand and poises her fingers for a snap.]
But aren't you forgetting something~
no subject
[He does not think he is forgetting anything at all, though he does eye those fingers a little as though they were a threat. If he's about to learn the hard way that Sayo can cast nasty spells across the network, the ensuing grudge will be long and lovely.]

[Snap.
The good news is that Sayo may have been been exaggerating when she was blathering about the exact degree of foulness to her curses.
The bad news is that, while it's not corpse-desecratingly bad, Break will now always feel like he's just about to sneeze at all times but never actually get release from the sensation until the curse is broken.]
I'll release it once you've given her a proper birthday present and an appropriately heartfelt card.
Private
And just what do you believe is going to be "heartfelt" coming from me? I've never met the young lady. All I know about her is that her recent actions have been one of the many ways you lot have hurt Miss Ange these past few months.
I bear her no ill will, but surely you know where my loyalties lie in all this.

Happy birthday, Jessicaaaaaaa!
[ Hmm. ]
You should just chop it all off, then regrow it with the Golden Magic.

That was always your domain, not mine. And considering it's still your turn in our ongoing game, I do not trust you to regrow my hair, as sly as you are
no subject
Can't you trust me~?
Action
But that doesn't mean that it's been easy for her either. Life in Trench never is, but now she's more aware than ever that she could lose the girl she loves, and even surrounded by Himiko and other people that she loves, it's a profoundly lonely feeling. Not least of all because she knows that this could happen to them too.
Jessica is still in science class when the message hits the network, so it's a good half hour before she actually sees it. She might have forgotten entirely about her birthday if it weren't for the people around her reminding her, and right now it's hardly the most pressing thing on her mind she finally sees her girlfriend's face again, tired and vaguely grumpy, but awake, moving around, really returned to her.
She's at the nearest lantern in a flash, and once she's warped to the house they share, she's still running, overcome by excitement and relief. She sees her there in the living room, and tears come to her eyes at the confirmation that she hadn't just hallucinated that message. She outright charges her, laughing joyously as she throws her arms around her girlfriend, her oldest friend, heedless of any nasty goop that might still be in her hair, and holds her as tight as she can. Nothing in Trench is certain, but after all the ordeals that they've gone through, through mistakes and ignorance and sins and forgiveness, they have each other. ]
Sayo! You're really, really back!

She is Sayo in her whole, not just sullen Kanon, not just playful Beatrice. It may be buried by scars most of the times, but that innocence, that wholehearted naiveté... it can still be found in moments like this.
Eventually, she calms down enough to look Jessica in the eye and say,] S- Sorry, I, um... just wanted to fix myself up a bit before you and Himiko came home, but... [She gestures at her current state of affairs helplessly.]
no subject
Oh, come on, I don’t care about that, silly! You're back, and that's the best present I could get!
[ Her birthday was shaping up to be a bittersweet one with Sayo cocooned, so it's that much harder to hold back her exuberance at the gift she's been given. But after a moment, she relaxes her hold a little. It won't do to give Sayo such a start so soon after she woke up. She giggles, looking away with no small embarrassment of her own at how carried away she'd gotten. As energetic as she sometimes is with her feelings, she doesn't compare to Himiko's almost superhuman inability to be embarrassed. ]
I-I, mean, uh, sorry, ahaha… I’m just really happy! And hey, it's not a bad look for you!

[ One of his favorite cousins, really. ]
Can't help you much with the hair, unless you think the golden magic will sort it out.
