(VIDEO) — UN: BOMBSHELL

(the video begins of a zoom up of a pair of eyes. an animal to be exact. they blink curiously before it gets pulled back -- revealing it's a spider monkey holding the omni. he holds it up above him and even turns it upside-down and other various angles. hopefully the lovely people aren't easily to become motion sickness upon viewing this but if they do, their own fault really.)

(there's a voice coming from off camera; familiar to some or not. but the monkey looks off to the direction of the voice before turning the omni over so whoever is watching can now see jinx sitting in a chair -- slouching with her arm hanging over the top railing. there's a grin that slowly grows on her face, however, it's not... exactly a friendly kind. impish? troubling? dangerous? you'd be the judge. nevertheless, jinx hunches over now with both her arms drape over her knees -- looking directly at the omni.)

So! — Greetings people of.... whatever this place is. Kiiiinda forgot the name but not really important. I've been hearin' a lotta here and there that I've been here before. Don't really remember it, though. (a brief pause as she thinks.) Except the last time. I remember the last time but not the other times.

Buuuuuuuuut ♪! Since I've been here a whoooole BUNCH of times that means I gotta have some friends here, right?

(she bites her bottom lip to hold back a giggle as the video suddenly wavers around. but quickly it straightens up and focus with a closer look of jinx (it seems she's the one holding it now) in a bird's eye view. her spider monkey climbs on her body then curling himself along her shoulder and neck while also looking up at the feed along with her.)

So if ya know me, contact me. OH! And you got like, thirty minutes to convince me why my former self even bothered wasting my breath on you. Don't keep me waitin' too long 'cuz I get bored easily.

(a beat.)

ACTUALLY, NEVERMIND!!! — Decided to change it to twenty minutes. (her spider monkey seems to be screeching in laughter at jinx's sudden time change but resumes on nuzzling it's head against her cheek.)

OH OH! One more big thing. There's someone here by the name of Vi. If you know her, contact me too. So we can aaaaalll be friends and get along. No shame in that, right?

(she says this but there's something about that smile that really makes it... off putting. regardless though, jinx hums quietly as she cocks her head to the side.)

Whoa, a whole year? You and someone else I ran into been here the same length. (a beat.) — Is... this place really what it's cracked up to me? Y'know, the whole... second chance thing.

[siriusly]

A second chance...? [it's definitely not the way he'd have put it, given his own circumstances, but the notion gives him pause.

after said pause:] I think...it's all in what you make of it. There's a lot of things to learn, but...people have found all kinds of ways to live here.

So I guess it comes down to what kind of life you want to live, huh.

[opheliac]

How long does THAT usually take to figure out?

(because everyone would want the typical "happy, let's hold hands and skip in a flower field" life but... not everyone is lucky to have that kind of living. )

[siriusly]

Ah, well-- [with a little laugh in his breath:] There's no solid answer to that. Everyone's different, right? And...we change all the time in little ways. So you might find something right away that you want to do...or it may take some exploring.

Either way isn't bad, though.

Some change for the worst, though. It's not aaaalll rainbows or sunshines. And if you think that, you've never seen what the real world is like underneath.

[siriusly]

Well, sure. I mean-- Ha, this place? It's...I don't think you'll ever see a rainbow here, and if you do? It'll probably try to kill you.

Killer rainbows? OH! Do they jump out at ya and strangle you to death? 'Cuz that's somethin' I wanna see. It'll completely defeat all physics as we know it.

[siriusly]

Physics definitely breaks now and then in this place, so if that's something you're into, you're gonna be in for a ride...

Yes, yes, YES!! (grinning wide, her hair instantly switch from blue to yellow and when her hands hit together for a clap, there's a few minor lighting strikes buzzing along. well, this is one way of letting someone know what kind of blood type she is.)

— I'm all about the breaking!! Okay, since you know the ins and outs, I'm givin' you the honor to pick the first thing for me to break apart. Whaddya got for me?

[siriusly]

[wAIT DON'T MAKE THIS HIS RESPONSIBILITY]

Auh, er...I, I don't...I mean... [UHHHHHH] As far as things...okay to break...the creatures they keep at the Gate?

[opheliac]

Creatures? ... I don't think I was payin' attention. How do they look like again?

[siriusly]

Mn. All different kinds of ways. Uh...do you know what werewolves are?

[opheliac]

Wolves, yes. Were? No. What are they?

[siriusly]

Auh...Mm...How to explain...? [he clicks his tongue and lapses into a beat of thought. leave it to the least creative guy to paint a picture with his words huh?]

Well, it'd be like a wolf standing on its hind legs, but they kind of look a bit like a person when they do? So like...half-man, half-wolf. Covered in old and new blood. Very dangerous.

There's a lot of stuff like that the Hunters gather and lock up at the Gate for training purposes, so it's...it's about as safe a look as you can get of them up-close? But still, you need to be pretty careful. They can mess you up.

[opheliac]

They sound adorable!! I should go see one and make 'em my new pet! Thaaaanks for the info, Know-it-All!

[siriusly]

Ha-hang on a second! Remember the dangerous bit? You really gotta be careful! Have you even gotten the rundown on blood corruption? Because beasts like that'll really exacerbate things.

[opheliac]

Somethin' about we can turn into them and blahblahblah spooky it's painful and we get all regretful afterwards? Am I missin' anything?

[she is going to have to find another vileblood soon, because having to seriously think about (and she's thought about this before) 1. her sister succumbing to beasthood 2. the damage to other people that are and aren't sleepers that beast might cause - is causing her blood pressure to just. fuck. she's got a few things up her sleeves (both of em) besides nuggets of wisdom - she's gotta have options if and when the time comes. but she hasn't noticed her own blood effects so far - just people losing senses and in some cases ...memories?]

A lot. A lot. But whether or not that'll play into your second chance plans is...well, I don't know. I don't know you.

What if my second chance in life deals with rippin' everything in sight apart? To finally become strong and unstoppable? 'Cuz as a beast, I'll be that, right?

[all of a sudden sansa shows up, looking very serious and concerned.]

The Gate has Beasts that are people who look like wolves?

[could they be her ancestors? surely she would know if any of her immediate family was here...wouldn't she?]

Last time I went up there, yeah. But since the Hunters use stuff out there for training, they could already be...y'know. [dead and then some.]

[dohaeris]

[sansa thinks perhaps that might be better than lifelong imprisonment as a beast...]

Do you think any of them could have been Sleepers from before?

[siriusly]

[he sucks a breath through his teeth as he considers it.]

Maybe? But--but given the number of hunters who are Sleepers, I feel like...if they had a sense of that, they'd try to avoid that happening. So that the Sleeper could reform faster, get better soon, you know?

[he hesitates.]

I don't know...if it'd be the same kind of case for the ancient ones, though. The zealots. [he might have a little less sympathy for them, if he's honest.]

I don't think the Hunters that are Sleepers have much of a say as to what they keep at the Gates.

[but the wayward watcher seemed to think of the gate as necessary evil. there were probably other hunters who took it upon themselves to lock the beasts away, the ones that enjoyed that sort of thing.]

That sort of work always ends up in the hands of the ones that like it best.
