(VIDEO) — UN: BOMBSHELL

[opheliac]

(the video begins of a zoom up of a pair of eyes. an animal to be exact. they blink curiously before it gets pulled back -- revealing it's a spider monkey holding the omni. he holds it up above him and even turns it upside-down and other various angles. hopefully the lovely people aren't easily to become motion sickness upon viewing this but if they do, their own fault really.)

(there's a voice coming from off camera; familiar to some or not. but the monkey looks off to the direction of the voice before turning the omni over so whoever is watching can now see jinx sitting in a chair -- slouching with her arm hanging over the top railing. there's a grin that slowly grows on her face, however, it's not... exactly a friendly kind. impish? troubling? dangerous? you'd be the judge. nevertheless, jinx hunches over now with both her arms drape over her knees -- looking directly at the omni.)

So! — Greetings people of.... whatever this place is. Kiiiinda forgot the name but not really important. I've been hearin' a lotta here and there that I've been here before. Don't really remember it, though. (a brief pause as she thinks.) Except the last time. I remember the last time but not the other times.

Buuuuuuuuut ♪! Since I've been here a whoooole BUNCH of times that means I gotta have some friends here, right?

(she bites her bottom lip to hold back a giggle as the video suddenly wavers around. but quickly it straightens up and focus with a closer look of jinx (it seems she's the one holding it now) in a bird's eye view. her spider monkey climbs on her body then curling himself along her shoulder and neck while also looking up at the feed along with her.)

So if ya know me, contact me. OH! And you got like, thirty minutes to convince me why my former self even bothered wasting my breath on you. Don't keep me waitin' too long 'cuz I get bored easily.

(a beat.)

ACTUALLY, NEVERMIND!!! — Decided to change it to twenty minutes. (her spider monkey seems to be screeching in laughter at jinx's sudden time change but resumes on nuzzling it's head against her cheek.)

OH OH! One more big thing. There's someone here by the name of Vi. If you know her, contact me too. So we can aaaaalll be friends and get along. No shame in that, right?

(she says this but there's something about that smile that really makes it... off putting. regardless though, jinx hums quietly as she cocks her head to the side.)

Tick-tock, tick-tock.

Hah, uh, you're not going to need to do that there.
It's very much a "leave your guns at the door and relax" sort of place.
Look, I'll pick you up later and we can head out?

Cool, cool! I'll get ready. Hope you're up for a lil' jinxin' on this outing!

[threelayers]

I have know idea what a little "Jinxing" means here.
but I'm down for it, one way or another. You're definitely an interesting one.

[And true to her word, she'd be waiting up at the lantern location she sent directions to. They could head out from there just fine.

[opheliac]

Better not chicken out half-way through. It'll be a huge disappointment to see you scurry off like a lil' mouse 'cuz you can't handle me.

(a pause; thinking.)

— It'd be a disappointment and I'll laugh in your face later.

[threelayers]

Be there or be square.

[This was probably going to end in tragedy for someone, given that neither of the girls were exactly mentally stable people (even if Neo'd been doing a lot better for a bit.) Either waay, she'd be there waiting for her when the time came, umbrella resting on her shoulder.]

(OOC: Easy to handwave or play it out. I'm good either way.)

(im not picky either!!! whichever you wanna do. i have a day off tomorrow so i'll have time to tag something.)

[Neopolitan was waiting for Jinx just outside one of the lantern locations, not that far from the Gate. It wasn't a long walk from there to Sapphora's, so it would give her a chance to get a bit of a sense of the girl. she was definitely a colorful one, wasn't she? Neo wasn't quite sure how to react to her just yet.

but hey, never hurt to meet new people.

[opheliac]

(it doesn't take jinx entirely too long to get where she needs to be. there was thought about just going on foot but then she decided against it. if she is going to get use to this place, she'll need to figure out how this place works. and that would mean giving this whole lantern transporting thing a try.

so when she arrives, she spots neopolitan immediately and waves enthusiastically.)

Hey, No Talks! — I remembered what I named ya, finally! Took a lotta brain power but I nailed it.

[threelayers]

[She waved right back, giving her an exaggerated eye-roll. That was definitely not the least flattering nickname she'd ever been given. Snickering silently over at her, she smirked in a way that said she always had good humor about things like this. Her life was, after all, lived in the light of so much humor and levity on the surface.

There went those fingers. Nice little blur of a typist, this one.]

I think I'll go with Blue. fitting enough, eh?
So, how much trouble you getting yourself into already or dare I ask?
Come on, I'll show you the place.

[She motioned for her to come along with as she started. She almost skipped. Almost.]

(she reads along her words before tapping her chin with her index; thinking.)

I haven't fought anyone yet if that's whatcha mean. My stock on weapons are still the same amount. The people are interesting, though. — Some are okay and others I'm undecided with!

(and so far, none of them are a bad influence to vi and that's the most important thing out of the whole discovery.)

[threelayers]

[Arguably? Neopolitan was less of a bad influence than she used to be, though she still had an inner troll that always looked for an excuse. As they walked along, she glanced over at the other girl and nodded.]

Most folks aren't TOO much a problem here.
A few of them can be real pains in the neck when they first show up, but that doesn't last.
We all gotta survive in this town, after all, so most folks make peace with that.

Most.

[The emperor came to mind...]

Yyeeaaah but workin' together will just lead to betrayal and back stabbin' down the line.

(she walks alongside her with her hands behind her head; occasionally peeking over to make sure she isn't messing any written messages.)

Look out for yourself. That's what I was taught.

[threelayers]

[She tapped her lips at that. No, she didn't entirely disagree with Jinx there. Actually, if they were in Remnant? She would have agreed with the singular exception of Roman that eventually the odds of a backstab was going to mount ever higher. That was just the way of the slums of any number of cities. But in Trench?

Well, she'd found that people here were amazingly good at sort of 'sticking together,' which was damned weird.]

Since nobody gets rich, and there's no money, fewer stabbings.
Which isn't to say that there's absolutely none of that crap happening around here.
People definitely do turn on you from time to time.

So it's good to always have eyes in the back of your head. Just in case.

Exactly!! Just like I've got my eye on you. You're takin' me out which is nice and all but don't think I'm wonderin' about what the catch to this is.

(because surely there is one, right? why would she extend her hand out if there's not some sort of deal or favor to a complete stranger? well, they're not complete strangers but still dangling in that stage.)

[threelayers]

[She just laughed silently at that and grinned over at Jinx, winking when she did. So, she didn't trust her? Well, good. She thought that was sensible. Why trust a woman that she just met? When her mirth faded, there was a multi-colored building in the distance, four stories tall, and she grinned over at her almost cunningly.]

Well, it is a lesbian bar?
So maybe I'm trying to pick you up?
I'm not, though. Totally married.
But I could have been!

[She winked and tapped her gloved hand, over the ring finger. There was one in there, snuck away and protected under the fabric.]

Wait, we're goin' to a lesbian bar? Not that I got any beef with that. Girls can be pretty hot. Just y'know, didn't see that comin'.

(but at least if jinx ever feels she wants to fun with a girl or do a little girl-on-girl flirtation when the boys are being dumb as bricks, she knows where to go.)z

— But uhm. Congrats? To the married thing, I guess.

[threelayers]

[A snarky, smirky nod. Yep. Totally a lesbian bar, though not everyone was there to get picked up. It was, however, definitely girls only.]

Well, it's for lady huntresses. No boys allowed. So, it's definitely where folks who prefer women hang out. But if you really want to figure out why I'm doing all this?

Well, few folks say I don't get out enough when it isn't killing monsters. So I'm trying to work on that.

[opheliac]

Huh, guess I can get it. I'm a lil' the same. But it sorta depends on my mood. Sometimes I wanna go out but other times, I rather stay in and work on my stuff.

(jinx then wraps her arm around neo and gives her a very hard and firm pat on the back.)

— Don't worry, Jinx is here to fix that about ya, no sweat!!

[threelayers]

[There was a very obvious, momentary freeze in the way that Neo stood. There was someone's arm suddenly around her, patting her on the back, and the blue-haired girl was in her personal space. It wasn't visible to the eye. She was all smiles, her body looking completely relaxed as she laughed silently, but oh it was there. Her back froze up and her muscles went tight, the reactions of someone very ready to respond just as violently as Jinx. It relaxed a little after, but for all of her appearances to the contrary? She had to turn off the killer in her, to turn off the part of her that was used to keeping people at a distance.

Letting out a breath she didn't realize she had held, she gave a roguish raised eyebrow to the other.]

Me? I have to remember that I don't always work well alone.
Doesn't hurt to have a partner in crime, or monster fighting, does it?

[opheliac]

'Course not! Sometimes the fun is twice as fun. Buuuut it can also be a snag. Dependin' who that partner is.

(naturally with the way, neo reacts to jinx getting physical that way goes over her head. she isn't the one to really spot someone's discomfort (unless it's vi or silco) and even if she does, she ignores it.)

Oh, so tell me more about this lesbian club. 'Sides the babes, what else it does have? It better have some great music and food.

[threelayers]

[If only she knew that it just went right over Jinx's head, she'd be grateful. She hated showing signs of weakness or vulnerability to anyone. And when the contact didn't pull away, she just let one hand slip around the blue haired girl's waist, starting to walk in the direction of the club.]

Four floors. Rough n tumble bar with heady tunes, pool and the occasional fist fight.
Higher class bar upstairs with the good drinks on tap and some actual wine, hard to get around here.
Lounge upstairs for folks to relax, take it easy and hang out.
And, well, the fourth floor's got rooms for if a couple decides they want some alone time.
And ya know, home's just a little too far away and they won't wait.

I'm betting you'll like the first floor.

The first one, totally! I'd love to watch a few scraps and do a lil' bettin', too. But you said the higher class ones are hard to get into, right?

(it seems that little piece of information than everything else she said caught more of her attention.)

You wanna try and break in?

[threelayers]

[She snickered and shook her head. Ah text, always easy to mix up.]

Meant that wine's hard to come by.
So the second floor's one of the only places in town we can get it.
But we can absolutely go upstairs at some point.

I'll show you good break in joints later.

I knew talkin' to you was gonna be the best choice of my life.

(to have someone who will indulge in break-ins and possibly robbing? that's every little girl's dream. well more so any girl with a twisted mind as hers and not a sane one.)
