Thanks, Peter! [a mock-stern expression followed by a grin] I'm looking forward to seeing you both! The selection is amazing, there are things from all kinds of Earths and other planets. [in a whisper] And in one world, my favorite book series has been finished.

[what could she say, she had no faith in George R.R. Martin to finish the series in her world. in another? she was slamming those last two books like the first of an angry god]

And you can meet my girlfriend, Luz! Unless you've already met her?

Really? Oh man, that sounds like a wild experience.... Luna's going to have a field day. ( Books from future timelines... the possibilities are endless.

...And admittedly, he can't stop his train of thought from going to someone else he knows who would enjoy poking through some new books. )

Is there anything for uh... younger people? Like little kids?

And yeah, I know Luz! Wait, she's— you two are dating? ( God, he's been out of touch. He really needs to check back in on Luz, stat. ) I'm so happy for y'all. ( He means it, smile lighting up. ) How long have you been together?

It really was, but I found some great stuff I'd never heard of until I found it! [especially where science, history, and pop culture were concerned.

and it's understandable, there's such a huge range in ages in Trench]

Sure do! It's in the basement and we'd like an older person to accompany them there, but there are gonna be storytimes and maybe some more interactive stuff, too, I just need to think of things which are appropriate for the children brought here.

Uh-huh! Three months? I think? Wow, I'm the world's worst girlfriend! I don't remember our anniversary!

( Funny story: this doesn't involve an Actual Child, but the demonic entity possessing him.... Paimon struggles with reading Human Language, but loves to learn and have books read to him. It's... a weird, uncomfortable thought to help out the demon, but he gets so bored... Maybe Peter could find some nice picture books or something for him. )

Oh, that's perfect. I could accompany him for sure. ( Considering they're in... the same body. It's kind of awkward!! ) Storytime? Oh man... I think he'd really like that.

( He grins at that, something empathetic in his features. ) I get it — I forget a lot of that stuff, too. But honestly, time's super weird in this place anyway... I'm just glad that even Horror Mc'Freaksville can't completely kill romance.

[they have those! and she wouldn't bat an eyelash at them, it's not her place to judge. she doesn't know about Paimon, but if so? she'd want him and Paimon to be taken care of]

Great! We'd be happy to have the two of you there! And, we're planning something a little spooky since were getting closer to Halloween. Which I hope won't be awful, I've heard horror stories enough about Deerington Octobers.

[she smiles crookedly] Oh, good, it's not just me. And I know, it seems like everything which has been going on has taken us at kind of the speed of light. So, I'm a dork who forgets her anniversary.

( While he hasn't exactly advertised it, he has been telling more people about his "condition", as he seems to call it. There was a time Peter was actively hiding it, but now... it feels like people have a right to know. Besides, it's (unfortunately) a huge part of his existence, and eventually.... more people will have to find out.

Including Lexi — Peter's painfully aware it'll inevitably come up if he shows up to her shop for storytime and there's no one else physically with him. Oh, actually, there's a demon possessing my body and I brought him because he likes being read to! ....Actually yeah, that's probably how it'll go. )

Last year, October wasn't too bad in this place, so maybe we'll get another break this year. Something spooky would be cool, yeah! I think a lot of people would love that, since last year... we were all still kind of shell-shocked by this place. I couldn't even think about decorating or anything like that.

( This year, it'd be really nice to actually get into the spirit. )

Maybe all of us can hang out sometime. A double date next to the butcher shop downtown. ( He's joking about the butcher shop, kind of; there has to be places for young people to go to that doesn't involve... bloody ambiance. )

[if or when he chose to tell Lexi, she wouldn't judge or be weird about it. since Trench seems to be built on weird. most people she knows seem to have some interesting past or another, her world seems to be one of the more boring ones.

and in a weird way, that will be kind of adorable. even though she'll have a hard time not asking more about the demon, the possession, and how it happened]

I'd love to get to really celebrate Halloween. It's always been one of my favorite holidays and Luz says she's planning something cool for our costumes. And, that must have been a huge shock to leave from, well, what I've been told was like an old small town. This is just kind of the polar opposite.

[it would be! they'll have to see what happens and how it happens, but a plain, ordinary holiday would be a godsend]

I'd love a double date with me and Luz, you and Luna! And, there's uh. A place to eat next to the butcher shop? I guess that counts as farm to table.
