Hello, everyone. My name is Hotaru Tomoe.

I was wondering if anyone else here played a musical instrument. My mama Michiru has been teaching me the violin and it came here with me. So I was curious if anyone else had one too, and if you wanted to play with me sometime.

[ The phoenix makes a trilling sound. ]

My other inquiry was if anyone had any music that they would like added to the Entertainment Feed. I've already been adding everything I know how to play, and wouldn't mind learning more for everyone to enjoy. It's okay if I've never heard the song before, I'll learn how to play it! A lot of what I know is classical and anything from Earth's 1990s and before.

[ Hotaru looks excited over that idea, learning to play songs. ]

Lastly, I want to know if anyone would like to learn how to play the violin. If there were enough people for me to give lessons to as a small job when I'm not helping out with my friend's businesses. I know teachers for music tend to be older, but I'm very good, I promise.

Oh! I can play the cello! And I'm learning the guitar, though it's a little slow - always something going on, you know.

The cello! That's a beautiful instrument. How long have you been learning the guitar?

[ Propping her chin in her hands. ]

Started maybe fifty years ago? But there's been breaks in there, of course.

Breaks are good. Sometimes doing something else can help when you're trying to learn.

I like to read when I take breaks from learning the violin. Or play with Papa Haruka. I made a simulation of the galaxy that started at the very beginning and made it grow until it was current.

That must've taken a while.

Six months or so. I guess you could say I had it on fast forward to condense the length of time.

[ Doing it in real time would be more time than Hotaru has technically been alive. ]

Yeah, I think that's one of the older galaxies, too. Didn't spend a ton of time in the area myself, until things got weird.

Thirteen point six billion years. Where did you spend your time, then?

[ She looks a little surprised, but believes him. ]

Other galaxies. A ways across the universe. There's some cool nebulae shaped like this - [weird hand gestures] - I spent a while there.

[ She looks utterly fascinated. ]

Will you tell me about your time in the other galaxies, sometime? I bet there's a lot of stories to tell.

Eh, not all that many, to be honest. Not like there was any life in them, unless you want to hear about my run-ins with other immortals.

Yes! [ Immediate answer. ] I'd love to hear about your run-ins with other immortals.

Well, I used to hang around with this guy named Dennis then...he wasn't called that at the time, you understand. None of us had human names then. Anyway, he was a dick, demons are, but we'd compete to see who could build the biggest nebula. Boy, haven't thought about that in ages...

[ She nods in understanding about the names. He could have existed long before human names came around. ]

What was the score? Who was winning?

[ an adolescent himself but just a little older than her, falco waves at the girl. his omen joins in on his shoulder, too— a pygmy falcon, so she is nowhere close to the size of a phoenix. now, this too some consideration, but . . . he wants to try. he wants to try a lot of new things, lately! ]

I think I'd want to try. I just don't have . . . Any background with music. Is that okay?

( It's been a little while since Peter's seen someone show up who looks this young. It's a strange feeling in him, the way it always is; he takes a few moments to gather himself before turning on his own video feed, though he can't completely hide the worried look to him as he gives a soft smile. )

I play a couple things, too. Guitar, piano... sometimes drums. I don't think I've heard of the Entertainment Feed yet, though. Is it a place people can hang out?

[ Hotaru will wave back at him, a smile at his words. ]

It's okay. So long as you want to learn, then I'm willing to teach you.

[ Her head tilts curiously at the worried look to his smile, but she gets it. Young kid in a place like this, it isn't a good thing. ]

I've been here since the beginning of August. Mostly just settling in and spending time with my friends.

Playing multiple instruments must be fun. It is a place you can hang out. It's over in Cellar Door. There's more than just music there, too.

[ A nod of understanding. ]

If you ever want to play a game, I'd be happy to play with you.

Even though I just said we suck to play with?

[Though he's just teasing, a little; he likes to think he's gotten better.]

I think you're a pretty nice demon. So far.

[ From the twinkle of mischief in her eye, it's clear she's teasing right back. ]

I play piano. I would be happy to teach you some songs on it, and to give you music to learn.

[It's a lot of the Undertale OST, won't lie.]

And I've never learned the violin. Is it similar to the piano?

[ approving and eager, he nods to the prospect— and happy to get a new teacher! ]

I think it'll be fun . . . Should I get a violin?
