Yeah, Vi was telling me about her before. And it sounds like another girl's ready to throw half her wardrobe at her. [ That widens his smile into a grin, a chuckle brushing over his words. He lifts the small bag he's carrying, a simple thing on strings. ]
Chizuru recommended this for your aches. Turns out she knows a few of the remedies 'round here - it'll start heating up the skin after we apply it.
[ A liquid heat pack, good for being massaged in during a massage.
But with that said, there's a pause, and with an expression that's definitely remembering their earlier conversation: ]
Ready to get started?
[ No, there's no sultry voice, but there is a tease in the question. For you know what. ]
no subject
Why yes, Dr. Robby. I can't wait for you to ease my tension.
[She even flutters her eyelashes before she can't keep up the act any longer. She snorts and laughs.]
Wow, that was awful.
cw: semi-sexual language
Wow. Oof. [ Ooof. ] I think my stuff just decided to take a holiday for a week. I'm not recovering from that. [ His grin is wide though, dimples at either side of his mouth. He's got the bottle out, and he gestures with a hand, a nod of his head. ]
C'mere, show me which shoulder. I'll be a professional.
[ A professional, as opposed to your sexy porno variant. ]
no subject
[She's not laughing anymore, but it's clear in her smile and tone of voice that she's highly amused.
She motions to the areas on her left shoulder that hurt.]
It's here and here. And also on my right ankle.
no subject
What do you think?
[ A bad night? Bad luck? ]

[If there's one thing that's pretty consistent about the chaos of this place is that people of the same blood type tend to experience similar problems in a month. There's some small reassurance in knowing the problem isn't a mystery ailment experienced by just oneself.
For now, her reassurance comes in the form of knowing that Robby is here to help her. Help isn't something she readily asks for. With him, she can let herself be a little more vulnerable.]
no subject
[ 'And now this?' is left unsaid, but implied. He's complaining for her, but he does seem pretty unfair. Why does blood just do this? And does it happen less to warmbloods because they're just not magic? Nothing's changed about him yet -- nothing to the extent Tory needs to keep dealing with.
He feels he's warmed up his skin enough, so he opens up the bottle, lets some of the liquid drip onto a hand. If this really warms up and works through the skin, then he's going to be feeling it too, Robby realises it, but he doesn't really mind, starting to spread it along the skin from shoulder to blade. ]
You've always had to deal with this?
[ He asks it softly, in that sympathetic way he can never quite help. Not when it comes to the people he cares about. ]
no subject
There's a slow intake and exhale of air before she replies.]
...yeah. Weird things happen almost every month to me. I'll take the mystery aches over the bug thing, though. I'd just randomly warp bugs into existence and what appeared depended on what I was feeling at the time. Like if I was angry it was wasps.
[Given her temper, it was wasps a lot of the time. Especially since she kept getting frustrated that she couldn't stop making it happen.
She doesn't want him to worry overmuch about something that's in the past, so she goes back to the present.]
At least with the mystery aches, I've got a cute guy helping me deal with them.
no subject
No, but maybe they should invest in bug spray.
The upside expressed does make him smile. He can feel the warmth of the liquid starting to kick in on his own hand, a blossoming heat. ]
Lucky for you, a cute guy was prescribed with the massage oil to be at your beck and call. Though, [ and his voice dips into something fun, ] this guy would hope he's more along the lines of-- handsome? Good-looking?
[ He pauses with his fingers pressing into the muscle, somewhere at the crook of her neck. His head tipped where Tory might be able to seen him if she turned her head, the smile still playing on his face. ]
'Specially to this one girl he likes.
no subject
Hmm...no reason he can't be all three. Generally good looking, extra handsome in a suit...but those dimples in his smile? Best word for them is cute.
[Retroactively, she realizes that just rhymed. With a small chuckle, she adds,]
Apparently his looks make me distracted enough to spout off bad poetry. Hopefully that girl he likes is someone cool who deserves him.
no subject
Well, little do you know, her bad poetry drives me crazy. [ He nuzzles the side of her hair, then brings his hand to cup the side of her cheek, to help her look his way. He's to the side of her shoulder than level with her back, making it easy for him to linger closer into view.
As long as she lets him. And if she does, he rubs at her cheek with a thumb, adds warmly, lowly, ]
And the rest of her.
no subject
Sounds like a pretty lucky girl. Hopefully she only drives him the good kind of crazy.
[It's said affectionately enough, masking the tiniest bit of genuine concern. She hopes if she had a habit that genuinely annoyed him that he'd just come out and tell her.]
no subject
[ The good kind of crazy. With a grin that shows his teeth, a chuckle that interrupts it before his mouth falls into a smaller - but still genuine - smile. ]
I was starting to wonder if you found someone else. [ Even if -- they could be doing this as friends, sure. But Robby isn't just thinking that he's holding a friend, and he can't so easily slot them into only that, as if they never had history. But he'll speak honestly, adding: ] I'd get it if you did. No one knows who's going to show up here.
[ And she's had months in this place, and their own relationship was still fresh. It isn't the same as with him and Sam, a few months turning into finding her in Miguel's arms.
But even now, he is being careful: leaving room for the possibility that she has, and she can tell him so. ]
no subject
But right now, Robby's making everything crystal clear, and she knows she owes him the same honesty.]
I almost did. At first, I wasn't looking. I had you back home, and I was trying to just make friends and get my powers under control.
[Dating simply wasn't a priority for so many reasons.]
After I'd been here for a few months, I started getting a crush on a friend. But then when I decided I was going to find a good time to talk to him...uh. Well, without getting into all the details, he got a big heap of the kind of trauma that this place sometimes dishes out.
[Ensuring that it wasn't going to be a good time to talk about it for quite a while. What he needed was someone to support him and ground him in reality..]
So I decided I'd just be a supportive friend. Then you showed up not too long after. I figured I'd sort through my emotional shit and be a supportive friend while you got used to life here. Didn't want to push anything at you that maybe you'd changed your mind about.
no subject
But he appreciates that they're talking about this. Robby drops his hand down from her cheek, letting it rest against the crook of her neck; like he's holding her completely now, an added comfort. ]
How is he now? Is he doing better?
[ Because if he matters to Tory, Robby's going to ask, the concern in his voice genuine. Put aside the parts involving him to the side right now, and focus on them -- because how this guy is doing would obviously have some effect on Tory. ]
no subject
[It's a relief. No matter how resilient and strong someone may be, everyone has their breaking point. While the impulse to go and get revenge had been there, she suppressed that in favour of being a friend to offer distractions, a supportive ear, and connection back to reality.
It's in this conversation that she's reminded once again of what a kind person Robby is and how fortunate she is to have him here with her. It's enough to prompt her to say something to help answer any lingering questions that Robby may have. Even with therapy, mushy feelings talks are hardly her forte.]
I'm planning on just being friends with him. But with you...I'm up for seeing how dating goes here if you are.
no subject
Instead, it's about them. Where it started, where it's ending, a fluttering in his chest at the idea. He likes that idea, likes her, and he would have settled for friendship - and still will, if that's where they end up - if that had been her choice; disappointed, sure, but keeping a friend longer than that would last. ]
I'd really like that. [ He feels goofy saying it to her, where it isn't lost on him how mushy this moment is, especially with the smile in his voice, on his lips. But he likes it too, angling his head to look over her shoulder. ]
Does this mean I need to pick a better first date than prom? Because I don't think I'm topping that night.
no subject
She shifts around so that she's facing him directly, draping her arms over his shoulders and around his back in a hug.]
That can stay as our first date. We can have other relationship milestones here. Maybe first double or group date for starters?
