[the camera isn't shaky so much as wheeling, as if held by an overeager film student with more tricks than taste. the camera is sansa's omen. she wears raven makeup again with a black woolen cloak, and there is a cacophony of barking wolves and dogs. she seems very frightened, and she's holding an obsidian dagger chained to the chatelaine between her cloak. it's a busy street in cellar door, but the locals look a bit...blank-faced. sansa's direwolves are sitting and barking at spaces between them, while her hellhound scampers from person to person, frankly yelling.]
There are corpses, invisible corpses, and they're walking around everywhere! We'll have to burn them––I'll need every Coldblood mage, and anyone with any other kind of fire ability. I could make cold bloodstone to help, if I had any Coldblood––we'll need to get the fires hot enough to burn bone to ash.
The direwolves can track them––we could make two groups, and Smores can go with the other one. If anyone else can do it, you might post here and find some Coldblood mages to work with.
[sansa's wolves and wolf senses have spotted the draugr. she doesn't know anything about draugr, but fire is how you get rid of burning corpses, according to pthumerian-sent dreams and memories as well as the ancient books on her own north she's been studying in the archives. she'd already tried the dragonglass dagger, just in case, but it hadn't worked. it hasn't even occurred to her that fire might not, either.
fortunately in this case she happens to have stumbled onto a solution.
sansa does have a prompt for this up at the event post but I'm happy to handwave whatever!!]

[Like, he's all set for this extremely specific use case, actually.]

Oh. That's very good. We must be careful not to let the fire spread, though. Cold bloodstone should help with that, I think.
[another, more awkward pause.]
Is your wolf trained to scent for corpses?
[sansa's are more trained to scent for dangerous magic, but it works.]
no subject
[So it's not the best ranged option. Maybe he'll get a stick or something.]
Don't think so. Mostly live people. She was trained to be a war mount by these...guys that attacked Deerington, a while back. So she's very good with...you know, living people.
no subject
Well, she can come along with us and get the scent. Wolves are clever, if we see enough of them she should be able to pick it up.
[and there are plenty...]
no subject
Works for me. I'll dig out the armor - it's been a couple months, I don't use it quite so much here.
[Threats in Deerington felt...generally much more manageable by Warg than threats in Trench do.]
no subject
[her pretty feathered-and-embroidered collar is probably not the best choice!! s'mores is already wearing a leather armor-like harness that has 'MEDICAL SERVICE' carved into it with a few small calligraphic flourishes.]
Winter, would you fetch it for us, please?
["oh, very well," says a young man's voice very like sansa's but a few octaves lower, and the camera abruptly switches from omni to omen (that is, about a foot away from sansa's face.]
no subject
[Michael doesn't usually have his Omen out and about, he kinda forgets about Omenvision!]

voice;
I'm afraid you're going to have to come into town. They've all been following people around.
Do you have someone [wolves and dogs count here] with you that can track scent? I don't know if omens can do it, Winter isn't much help.
[a muttered "I'm helping you right now!" in the background.]
Switch to voice
Kage has done it in the past but I have another canine better suited for this.
He's invisible to most, but he can track just about anything.

Thanks for the warning, I see town just up ahead.

[lady swivels her face towards sansa and yips a polite assent.]
Good luck, and thank you for doing this. If there's anything at all we can do to help, you need only say.

[He has a back up plan for extinguishing large amounts of flames but he doesn't want to use it if he doesn't have to. Here's to hoping everyone can maintain self control while playing with fire. Fingers crossed. ]

[it's very helpful that fushiguro seems to have some sort of plan for out of control fires. she'll have to keep that in mind.]

He also sits so close to the camera that his pupil-blown eyes practically swallow it whole, a telling that this is Paimon.... Peter's far too anxious to get so close. Besides, what comes is calm and cold in a way Peter could never be. There is no fear at all; he knows what he can do. A body melts away easily enough when it is violently consumed by flames and given no chance to recover. )
I will burn them.
( Of course, when you earn favour with an ancient demon, it will come to your aid... And while it is usually not so easy to earn favours with a demon of Paimon's ranking, he's such a strange lost thing still, that all that was needed was a polite manner of speaking, and mutual respect and titles exchanged, and the appreciation of a skill — Sansa Stark of Winterfell (Lady Protector and Warden of the North) makes very fine clothing and knows what it is to be methodical and thoughtful. She is held in very high esteem for a demon of his sort. )
Are they harming?
( He doesn't know if these corpses are attacking her or others. It hardly matters though; she asked for them to be burned and so he shall assist. )
no subject
I can't say for certain. The people they follow look a little...unwell. Something strange is passing between them. [she draws a breath.] But there isn't a person in the corpses, and there used to be. They should be put to rest. I would appreciate your help very much. Can you tell where they are, or do you need help?
no subject
I will find them.
( His scope is growing in this place, thriving, the more he reconnects with his true self, his powers. He can feel his way where he needs to be, and he'll arrive shortly enough. )
I will come to you.
( And once there, inevitably sticking close to certain people. Sansa for a time; Michael for another. There's also Sharon, whom the demon is forging a camaraderie with. He'll keep a close watch over them. )

That sounds like it could be a great a help, but we can't allow the fire to spread to town. Cold bloodstone should help us to control it, at least. You can come with me, once I have some. Lady can find the corpses by scent alone.
no subject
[Plus she very much doubts that her Omen will allow her to go into a dangerous situation alone.]

voice;
Are you all right? You sound as if you don't have enough blood to go around. Perhaps you might come here and burn these corpses, and then you can rest at my home or the Sanctuary before giving any blood.
voice;
But I can do that. How many corpses are we talking about?
no subject
[she draws a breath, wincing slightly at the odor.]
They're all over Cellar Door. I haven't looked anywhere else, but I don't see why they should only be here and not the rest of the city. They're all following different people.
[sansa frowns. she and lady had been catching hints of rotted flesh here and there for the past week or so, but there are so many scents in a city, and the ever-present smell of blood under everything.]
I don't think we need to burn all of them in one night, though. It should be all right for Coldbloods to take it in turns, at the very least.
no subject
I haven't really noticed any undead things around but... This month has really worn me down. I probably wouldn't have noticed them anyway, especially with everyone dressed up for the Black Parade.
I should be fine if we do it in turns, and spread out the burnings.
no subject
[unless you're a carrion bird...the wolves continue barking. sansa sighs.]
They've been catching strange scents, but there was some kind of vileblood magic experiment down in the sewers for months. We tracked Gideon there, once. I suppose I just thought it was rotting.
[she glances back and forth.]
We will have to spread out and take it in turns; we don't have enough people to do anything else. Back home, we had a separate army for this. My brother Jon was Lord Commander. I just wish he were here.
[tears leak out of sansa's eyes, unbidden. lady ceases barking at the corpses for a minute to go and nudge her hand. sansa pets her absently and the tears trickle to a halt.]
no subject
I bet he'd be impressed to see how you've taken charge with this——especially if he's got an army to take care of this kind of shit.
What's he like?
no subject
Quiet, but droll. He could make you believe any stupid thing he said, just from the way he said it. He was always training...we never had very much to talk about...
[she clenches her fingers in lady's neck ruff.]
He's still alive, I can see him again. Not like Robb...they were almost the same age, and they were always together. But Jon left for the Wall when we went south––he's a man grown, now. Older than––I imagine he's changed as much I have. A lot of people would have had to die for him to be Lord Commander, even our uncle. I didn't even realize it––I suppose I knew in my heart he'd make it one day, and Robb being lord––and then they made him a king––but then they killed him––
[lady whines and turns her head to lick sansa's wrist.]
no subject
But her smile fades quickly. Her heart pinches. ]
Was it... Was it because he was made a king that he died? [ She knows bits & pieces of Sansa's life. So much of it is hard to process, so many traditions and titles that she gets a little lost in it, but she knows about the Lannisters. She didn't know her brother Robb became a king, though. ]

I'm not a mage and I don't have any fire abilities, but my Omen is a phoenix that could help from the sky.
no subject
Oh, can they breathe fire? [but then she frowns a little.] The trouble is the corpses are very hard to see, and they follow people very closely. We all must be very careful in our aim, and we can't let fire spread in the city.
no subject
Not breathe fire, but it can ignite itself. [ A serious nod of her head. ] My Omen is careful, and since it doesn't need to aim, nothing should get set on fire by accident. I can also sense things that others can't, so finding one of the dead won't be too much of a problem for me.
[ Tiny death goddess and all. ]

Will lightning help at all? If they're invisible I might have something to help find them too.
[If she used flower hurricane the petals would reveal their corpses when they were struck.]
no subject
I don't know. It's very hot, but I don't think people burn to ash when they're struck by lightning. Of course, you would know better.
[yeah she has no idea what she's doing]

[sansa pauses, smiles faintly.]
That's kind of you. I think the Coldbloods might need tea. They've been cursed to be very tired this month.
