As I recall, when I was a young man asking myself much these same questions in a more short-term sense, one of my first steps back into the light was the realization that if I wanted to have cake for breakfast each day I could, and if I were a proper brat about it nobody would bother trying to convince me otherwise. When the big things are awful it's the little things that get you through, you know?
