if you had the choice, would you stay alive eternally and watch everyone you love eventually die or would you die young and miss out on a life lived?

Far, far away from most worlds I would think. Everywhere I look, it seems there is pain and suffering in most of the places we have come from.

can't really control when i leave, can i?

Interesting. Do you have unfinished business at home or do you simply prefer there to here?

i have friends at home. family.

i would like to see them again.

I can understand that. If I had that waiting for me, I would want to leave eventually as well. But I don't. Everyone I care about is here and so I have no desire to leave.

there used to be a lot of people here from my home and i felt the same way.

but most of them are gone now.

I can understand that. There's been a number of them who have come and gone from my galaxy as well. Fortunately, the most important ones to me have remained.

i guess it means this feels a little more like home when that happens

Yes. It is one of the reasons I have decided to stay.

even if you can't control that? that you might end up being sent somewhere else anyway?

There is very little one can control in their own life. I will try to make the most of the time I have here whether that is another day or fifty years.
