it's one of many problems i have
i'm used to it.

Now that's a feeling I understand all too well. And it's not a good one...

There are good people here who will listen to your problems if you allow them to. I hope you can find relief from your problems soon.

yeah, that's what i'm finding.
i haven't really used this whole network thing
but it's been good for this
to at least let me talk some things out.

There's not really anything like this where I'm from, so I haven't used it as much as some others.

But it's very helpful for communicating things to people you might not otherwise speak to.

yeah we have phones and such. things we can send messages to but nothing like this where everyone in the town can read it if they want to.

The closest we have are message boards where you can pin notes. It's... quite different, as you might imagine.

yeah, i think we have one of those too but no one uses it.

It's mostly used for hiring adventurers where I'm from.

yeah we definitely don't use it for that
if people want an adventure they just go find it.

Well adventurers do all sorts of jobs. Mercenary work, protection, deliveries... it varies a lot.

there's that where i come from too
people just get the jobs and such differently
no job board.

people just tend to take them on
hear about them from other people and go

The Adventurer's Guild tends to take care of that. It's a way to make sure people get paid and also don't just... disappear, for whatever reason.

sounds pretty organized

i'm sure there's something like that where i come from
i just don't know about it
it's a little more modern.

It's a relatively recent thing - it picked up steam after the Calamity happened a little while back. There were less military-types to take on things of that nature afterwards.

you typically have a lot of attention on those adventure jobs?

[aetherweaver]

It depends on the job. Mostly no. I tend to, but I'm... not a typical adventurer.

yeah? what kind of adventurer are you?

[aetherweaver]

For better or for worse - the famous kind. I can't really tell people my name anywhere in my home world without someone making a big deal out of it.

You'd think it'd be cool, but it's actually kind of frustrating...

at least there's some anonymity here?

[aetherweaver]

That's one of the things I like about being here.

And the fact that there are other capable people who can help. Not that my friends at home aren't capable, but it's... the bulk of fighting usually falls on my shoulders. It doesn't have to be that way here.

yeah, most of the people here seem to be ready and willing to fight when needed.

kind of makes it nice that you're not facing down these things all alone.

Exactly. I'm... glad that there's enough people to defend those of us who can't or won't fight.

Some of these things really can't be taken down by a single person anyway, no matter how skilled.

it seems to be things that happen have specific things for people to deal with but there's always something bigger.
