[ The broadcast seems to be coming from a Japanese-style garden, though with less greenery, given that it’s Trench. Some people might recognize the man standing in it as Daniel, though he’s not wearing his usual Trench getup, instead wearing a white karate gi, complete with headband. Next to him is a boy some people might recognize as Robby in a similar white gi.
It’s Daniel who speaks up first, his facial expression a relaxed smile. ]
Now, I know that there are a lot of people in this place who already offer help with fighting lessons. But this place can be so dangerous, and there are a lot of people here, so.. better to have too many opportunities to learn than too few, right? [ He shakes his head. ] That’s why I decided to open up the dojo I ran back home here as well, Miyagi-do Karate.
[ Yes, he’s gesturing an absolutely unnecessary amount as he speaks. It’s the Italian within him. ]
Miyagi-do isn’t about learning how to go around picking fights. It’s about learning how to defend yourself and how to protect others, while also focusing on your internal balance. All of which are invaluable skills in this place.
[ Daniel pauses, glancing at the boy standing besides him, before his smile widens a tad and he moves a hand to pat Robby’s shoulder. ]
I’m sure some of you might recognize my student Robby here. He’s been practicing Miyagi-do for a long time now [never mind some stuff that’s being shoved under the rug here, sshhh ] and will be helping out around the dojo.
[ Robby has been quiet up to this point, letting Daniel speak without interruption, eyes cast in the man's direction without directly looking at him. But his lips roll when the hand falls on his shoulder, and his expression turns serious. ]
It's true we don't come from a world as dangerous as this one, or as many of you do, but the dojo will hold to its promise to help protect its students by passing on any knowledge and training that will give each one a better chance out there. I'll be helping to lead some beginner classes outside of weapons training, and I can give any advice to newcomers if you want to talk to someone closer to my age. [ Or theirs, perhaps, but same difference. ]
We welcome anyone from any of the other schools of fighting, just as we'd recommend that people go to others to find what works for them. Sensei Uchiha of the ninja school and Sensei Lawrence of Eagle Fang are good teachers with their own styles I can recommend, and if we can help alongside the other teachers here, that's our goal.

I'm not exactly muscular, and I'm prone to flinching unless I'm really mad, but... I need to help them.
text, continued private;
Hey, don't worry about it. All you need to learn how to fight is just wanting to learn in the first place. You don't need anything else. And no reason to want to learn how to fight is better than wanting to protect other people.
Besides, I was a small kid when I was your age and I won a karate tournament. That proves anyone can do it as long as they give it their all, right?

Has he properly voiced this? Of course not. But the fact that Robby does give a shout out to his dojo is enough to stop him from being outright belligerent about this.]
Great, great. That probably is the best shout out my dojo's gotten here.
Once you guys are done being tricked into doing karate. You're free to come learn real man karate with me.
[Should he be a bit less annoying about this, yes?
Should he specify he'd like to train with his son, also yes.
Is he going to say that?
Nope.]

I wish you success in your endeavour. To teach others is a noble calling.
I did not know that karate might be used in defence. Miyagi-do must indeed be a style that deviates from that of Eagle Fang.

You learn a friend has a praise kink one time..Though, as always, just a slight compliment like that immediately makes Daniel a little more giddy, especially coming from someone he's fond of. Enough to want to show off. ]
You think so? Hold on, I can turn the camera so you can see the entire yard.
[ Despite him sending the message back in text, it switches over to video briefly, just so he can turn his Omni around slowly for a 360 degree view of the outside dojo, switching it off to turn back to text afterwards. ]
Putting this together without falling asleep was a real pain, as I am sure you can imagine.

She looks at Daniel talking about defence and encouraging Robby and - kind of gets the source of Johnny's grudge really.]
So... yours is more like the fancy meditation and tea kind of crap? [It's not derisive, though it's pretty clear which seems more appealing to her specifically.] What kind of weapons are you training with?
Ozpin's also offering lessons more specifically about fighting monsters - and he's setting up a whole school and shit, he might be able to help you guys out. He's kind of a tool - not to mention English - but he knows about that much.

But this is relevant to Peter, and so the snake is showing his own support, in the form of just.... sharing a video of himself, staring at the screen for a few long minutes. His tail is wrapped around a little beaded snake almost like one would hold a teddy bear....
He just sits there unmoving, except for an occasional flicker of a forked tongue, and a subtle little movement of his head that could almost seem a nod of agreement. The Karate Man and Karate Boy are very nice people, and they're doing very well here! )

Beginner classes, here I come? Had no idea you did the karate.
[the karate. well, it's pretty cool that he can fall back on something he likes, something he's probably good at (why else teach?) and that's familiar ...here. oh, he's learning to embrace the weird, but it's in stages, and having a bit of normalcy might go a long way. (ease into the weird.)]
he's out of shape. he can't physically fight with any real skill beyond determination, and that isn't necessarily going to help him here. the whole instance with the zealots, even if he was suddenly transported away from them hasn't done anything to make him feel safer in his own skin, and from the look and sound of them, they'd prefer him out of that skin.
plus: balance, physical and mental. he could use it. it might be a reason to stop drinking some days. maybe he could even surf again. in time.]

Through meditation, mostly. [ Often an uphill battle with teenagers, but.. you know. He tries. ] Also breathing exercises. Physical balance training often tends to help with it too, since it requires a great deal of concentration.

She's already had a sparring session with him, and it was awesome. She's been training on her own since the last two of her martial arts teachers didn't work out, so this is a great opportunity to advance her skills, and learn some new styles.]
If you'll both have me, I'd love to attend the dojo. I know a few styles of martial arts already, as you know ehehe...but I'm always excited to improve, or learn more. Teaching self-defense here is especially important, I agree. Body and mind exercises are a lot more influential in a place like this than people really understand.
