Oh, well, there are beings and mythical monsters that do eat children and people. But my mother was actively trying to murder me, and succeeded. So that was the most dangerous part. But there were creatures like the Nachtkrapp, a raven-like creature that go out hunting at night for children. They don't have any eyes, just empty sockets, and if you look within them, you die instantly. But that's the much kinder death. If it caught any children at night, it would carry them back to its nest and rip it limb from limb with its beak until it finally rips out the heart as dessert.

There are other creatures as well, like the Alp or Nachzehrer, all sorts of things are trying to kill or eat people.

Oh no no, I've had nothing but the kindest of interactions and help here. More often than not, my friends are upset if I DON'T ask for help. I'm still not used to that.

Grumbling, kvetching, complaining, it can all act as a release valve for stress and worries. Sometimes letting it out can reveal what one's honestly feeling when before it was opaque. Sometimes it makes a terrible or boring task more bearable. It can serve many positive actions, though they are too frequently the exception and not the rule.

Oh, then I suppose my "valve" for stress and worries is singing. Grumbling was something I wasn't allowed to do. [And then she internalized it because of trauma.]

When I sing or hum, everything gets done must faster as well. I love to clean so long as I hum a merry tune or whistle while I work.
