[The man who appears on the screen almost looks reluctant to be doing so, allowing the shaggy blond hair and glasses to obscure much of his face.]
...Something strange happened at the place I'm told is called the "Sleeper Farm", recently. A...friend and I had been cornered by one of our captors, and I'd tried without much luck at first to reason with them. But the moment they tried to grab me again, something changed.
Suddenly, they became calmer and stopped attacking, telling us to hurry and run, because they wouldn't have long until their corruption returned.
[It's here that his expression wavers, slightly; he is still uncertain about this, about allowing himself to return among people. And yet -- there's a subtle press under his skin, a restlessness. He has to do this.]
I'm still not sure I entirely understand what that means, or what exactly I did, but I've heard people talk about it. It...happens to us, doesn't it? Over time here. If easing that is something I can do, even for a little while...I want to offer it to anyone who needs it.
[There is a slightly awkward silence that hangs after he's finished speaking, and then, after a few moments, the feed simply shuts off.]

...and they're just people who were corrupted?
[Luca had thought of them as terrifying monsters, not anything that used to be people. The fact that all of that was just caused by corruption...]

[Most of the time, you never really know the truth behind a person's actions. Even without knowing much about corruption, Vash has always believed this; it's part of the reason he was unwilling to kill them, despite their cruelty.]

Maybe if you could turn them back for just a little bit, there's a way to make them normal people again?

They have a lot of knowledge useful enough to justify not slaughtering them all - and I think a lot of Sleepers are willfully ignorant about the nature of them. It would bbe good if we could learn ways to prevent this from happening to us.

This sort of capture would be good for the individual as well as the whole.

I have an associate amongst them that owes me a debt. I might be able to get her help in capturing one - though having your necromantic expertise would certainly help. You can manipulate souls, correct?

There are a number ways to try to prevent corruption, and ease it.
Do you...know what your bloodtype is? Vileblood, maybe? Some Vilebloods can physically ease corruption.

["Change us physically" is the most unsettling part for Vash, here. The last time his body was changed against his will, it left a hole in a moon.]
I'm not sure what I did, or how I did it, but if I can help prevent that kind of thing, I would be glad to. Could you tell me more about what causes it, and how it's usually handled?
no subject
I'm a Paleblood. Sometimes I can, um, reach out of to other people empathically, help them find some emotional balance, and that can help a little. But it's much more useful as a preventative measure, before corruption sets in, even close to as much as it seems like it must be in the guy who talked too.
Hmmm. I'm not explaining well. This is a physical component. Shedding blood tends to spread and increase corruption. But also blood ministration is sometimes used to treat it, too.

I realize this was already asked but you only spoke to them? Do you have some form of logomancy?

[But honestly he has no idea what happened, really. Blood magic is a concept that's concerned him ever since he arrived, and up until now he's tried to actively avoid ending up in a position where he might bleed, just in case it was as destructive as the power that Knives had activated, before he arrived.]

Yet I do also comprehend not wanting to be useful, to some extent.

Corruption is something terribly wicked, and aptly named. It blinds us to our own morals, twists our priorities, turns us into dangers to our loved ones. It does build over time, but I have noticed in the year that I have been here that it is easier to fall to it during some seasons than others, and I have known intense emotional upset to cause it to take hold almost instantly.
If you have a power that allows you to ease it, you are very much needed. However, I would counsel you to learn to use it very carefully, a little at a time, before you deliberately attempt something so grand as purifying a zealot again; and, to take just who you use this power for into careful consideration. I have little doubt that this power will have limits which you will need to discover the hard way, and using it on a violent cultist who will simply corrupt again in short order won't save as many lives as drawing someone who will stay healed back before they begin slaughtering people in the streets, you know?

If there's drawbacks or limitations, I'd rather learn them as soon as possible, so others don't suffer needlessly in the interim.
[He's already decided he's willing to accept any consequences to himself. At the same time, though...]
But I don't want to endanger others recklessly, either, if the risk goes beyond myself. But it doesn't seem there's any way to find out ahead of time what properties our blood holds.
[Short of consenting to becoming a science experiment, anyway, and for all his selflessness, that's still the one thing he's too afraid of to accept.]
If it's alright to ask, did you find yourself with new abilities here? How did you manage them?

But if you're offering to purify other people's corruption...for your own sake, I hope you're being honest with yourself about why.

I'm not sure how though. Nothing lasts.
[ But he pauses, thoughtful. ]
How do you think you were able to purify them?

[He'd been desperately afraid of what would happen the first time he bled, in this place. It's part of why he's kept to himself in that little inn, before the trouble came to his doorstep and dragged him over the threshold.]
It sounds as though their condition is extreme, compared to ours. Do you have any idea why?

Until it returned, as in, it was gone? On account of I've been this way since I got here and it's never once let up.
It's not always this bad, but. Y'know.

I don't really mind having an ability that can help, though. I had been concerned when I discovered my 'blood magic', it might be something dangerous honestly.
