[sansa looks...worried. she wears her new things from madame generosity, including a long sleeved dress covered in iridescent leather pieces that could be scales or feathers, and a feathered padded collar with silver direwolf caps (lady, at her side, has one to match). her needle necklace hangs from a silver hoop and clips into the side of her wide leather belt with the rest of her chatelaine.
she's quilting something in her lap, and the direwolf tapestry behind her couch no longer has antlers. there are silver scales on her face and hands, which are looking very well-moisturized.]
Hallo, this is Sansa Stark. I was wondering if anybody has had any luck in finding mushrooms for Madame Generosity. Winter and I went to look at the place where got them for The Tower, but we couldn't find any there. I wanted to know if anyone has looked at any of the other places and found mushrooms. I suppose we could always use the compasses to try and scout more of them, otherwise.
[mounting an expedition of unknown length during winter is of course not ideal...even if the weather seems to be easing up, and there's only going to be one month of it left. she sighs and sticks her needle in her pile of quilting.]
Madame Generosity has always been very kind and helpful, and I don't like to see her suffer. Besides, I imagine it could be very dangerous if The Doorway falls ill, and we had best be well-stocked of the mushrooms for treatment.
[hopefully someone has discovered an abundant new source of mushrooms, perhaps in a mysterious city of some kind with a temple dedicated to an enemy pthumerian who has been behind the mysterious plague all along!!!]

Thank you, Lady Delmira! I'm afraid Madame Generosity and the other Patrons need the special mushrooms that we harvested for The Tower, but i should be glad of any useful mushrooms you have to give me. I am at the Rookery right now, but I can meet you at the Sanctuary if you like. We have plenty of cheese for you.
Thank you,
Sansa Stark of Winterfell

That's very brave. If we must use the compasses to track down more of the mushrooms, I should be glad to have you with me.
Did you have a good holiday with your friends?
[sansa is not particularly used to holiday season small talk but she is going to try her best!!!]
no subject
Of course! I'm happy to help.
And I did. I mean, I didn't do much because I'm not used to holidays still but it was nice! I got to spend time with people.
no subject
Oh, me neither! Especially not in winter. I thought they were very sweet. It wasn't very different from our nameday celebrations, except for the trees and things. Some people said it was a tradition to wear horrible sweaters, but I think they were playing tricks.

[ Alice has not been paying attention to anything whatsoever but if something is important to Sansa? Alayne? She's going by her secret name in public now so that's six fewer letters to keep track of. Whatever, Sansa gives her stuff so Alice is inclined to listen to her when she wants stuff in return. That's friendship. ]

Pork is the most tasty. Then chicken and beef. Maybe beef and chicken. I am a maturing lady and my tastes vary.
Fish isn't as good as proper meat but there is a lot of it here and there are lots of flavors.

It's the sickness The Tower had. They say she caught it from Dorothea. Never Mind found rare mushrooms to treat the symptoms, but they can only be harvested by Sleepers.
[maybe?? at least, they can't be harvested by pthumerians, or ravens...]
They were all very far away. If we do have to venture out again, I should be very glad to have a powerful mage like you with me.
no subject
Oh, well, I'll go and protect you from wild creatures if you do it again.
You think that's why everything's so messed up here, all the big patrons getting sick with stuff?
no subject
That would be a great help. Thank you.
[looking at the conversation above, she will have to fetch alice a pork pie from her lunch tin. it is very hard to find pork pies here. she frowns a little, thoughtfully.]
It was the reason the buildings and the Omnis weren't working properly, and the Zealots did try and take more of our blood because they thought it would fix it. Dorothea and Madame Generosity don't have as much to do with the daily business of the city, and I can't say I've noticed anyone having trouble with kindness or trickery. [sansa's two moods] But The Doorway is in charge of bonds and oaths, and it could go very badly if she falls ill too.

[She's not sure she can be bothered to help with this. This still isn't her world, and the amount of fucks she has to give about it's wellbeing are in the low decimals. But on the other hand she might be stuck here a while, and Ianthe has always been pragmatic rather than cruel, so who knows.]
no subject
I imagine something might happen to the blood bonds she maintains, just as the city's structure became difficult and strange when The Tower was ill. Some of them allow people to hear each other's thoughts [couldn't be sansa], so it might hurt their minds.
[a pause, because this seems less medically likely, but it's worth considering. she draws a breath.]
The bonds have something to do with blood, and they've found the germs in Madame Generosity's blood. If The Doorway gets infected, the germs might perhaps find their way from her blood to the blood bonds. It's a magic sickness, and we know very little about it, save that it resembles a plague Sleepers could catch sometimes in the Dream that made Trench.
The mushrooms did help The Tower, though––and the troubles with the buildings went away.
no subject
What she describes is certainly bad, since it seems as if there are people who need to drink blood to survive, which would mean the plague would spread and spread, potentially killing so many of the locals, and the part that actually matters is that Ianthe needs blood to drink for her necromancy. Could be a problem.]
What sort of idiot signs up to a marriage where you can read your partner's thoughts? What an absolute nightmare. [If it were just them, she'd say "that's natural selection at work."]
And from the blood bonds it would spread to the blood and from the blood it would spread everywhere, is that it? I suppose there's no way to tell with a magic disease.
no subject
It's certainly a concern. [a really big one!!! but not one that has very much evidence behind it yet.] If it gets into any Sleepers at all, there's no telling how it would spread. Madame Generosity and Dorothea aren't very interested in getting blood on their hands, so it must be spreading among Pthumerians through ordinary means.

The kind we harvested to treat The Tower's illness. It's been spreading among other Pthumerians, and now Madame Generosity and Dorothea are sick.
no subject
I didn't get a chance to get that far. [for... reasons.] They're not local to the city, I'm guessing?
no subject
It can be found in the Trenchwood, but some ways out from the city. We used the compasses to find it, last time.
