[The video opens low to the ground with a snuffling sound - a clear sign that this is from an Omen. There's the sound of someone crying - a child - and the Omen's head lifts a bit more to show... well, it's a catboy. Or a kittenboy, as the child is very small. He looks to be somewhere between five and eight, but short.]

I want mama... I want my sisters... I wanna go home. This isn't the Wellwick Wood.

[He is, in fact, sitting in the woods. At least there don't seem to be any beasts around...]

[The 'video' tilts down, where the Omen has scratched a word in the dirt. 'Help'.]

Is... was I bad? W... what's going on?

[Ice starts to spread around the child, though he hasn't seemed to have noticed it...]

This...happens sometimes. People just finding themselves here. Or not remembering coming here. It doesn't mean you were bad.

[The Omen has wandered up to the kit and is projecting the image and the little boy is terribly confused.]

I don't... know where that is. A - and yeah. I'm Nara'a. Do you know Nara Sunvara? She's my mother...

[Keeper of the Moon names are confusing, sorry Ezra.]

Ez... ra? Um... okay. Wh... why am I here? I want to go home... I don't know these woods.

Hey, are you lost? What's the last thing you remember?

Um... um... mother went out hunting and told me to watch the house. And then... and then I was here.

Yeah, I know. It's probably a little scary.

Is there no one around you?

Just this lesser panda...

[He gestures towards the omen.]

I saw one in a book once... I've never seen one in person...

( yeah, he doesn't like the look of that. he frowns. )

Maybe stay away from that. Especially if you don't know what it is. You hurt or anything?

[The Omen huffs in annoyance. He's broadcasting, he's doing the best he can!]

No... I just want mother to come back... I'm scared.

[Oh, geeze. This child looks way too small to be out in the woods on his own, especially with the beasts and monsters and god knows what else lurking around out there.]

Hey. Hey, it's okay. You didn't do anything wrong - I don't think that's how any of us got here. Maybe I can help you find your family, though. What's your name? Who are your parents?

Um... I... I'm Nara'a. My mother is Nara. She's a really great huntress... I'm not. That's... why I stay at home.

[He's had some accidents... even at this age he already has a scar over his nose.]

I'm Martin. Don't worry - I'm not much of a huntress either.

[He gives a little smile as he cracks the joke, trying to set the boy more at ease.]

I don't know anyone named Nara, but I can still help you look for her if you want. Do you know where you are, or how to get back to town?

[aetherweaver]

Uh uh. I'm... I know my way around the woods, but not these woods. It's a lot darker and scarier and also it's cold? What's all this... um... white stuff on the ground? Is that snow?

[gotaknife]

Yeah - there's a lot of snow here. Okay, well, maybe it's not a lot of snow for some people, but it feels like a lot to me. Do you see, like, a path or anything around you? Or anything that stands out, like a particular tree or rock or anything?

[aetherweaver]

Um... there's a big rock over there!

[The 'camera' turns to where he's pointing. It's a.... large rock. Not nearly big enough to be called a boulder, but big for a child. The omen looks back at Nara'a.]

There's a little bit of a path... but I don't know which way to go.

[ .. okay, so maybe Chizuru isn't 100% sure that this is who she thinks it is..

But on the other hand, really, how many catboys does Trench have? It surely can't be many, and Chizuru only knows one. And with so many people suddenly changing back into kids for some reason, there's a chance it really could be him. ]

Um.. sorry. [ Chizuru's voice is quiet and gentle as always - though definitely on purpose this time, hoping it might help soothe the child a little. ] But is your name Nara'a..?

[aetherweaver]

I... um... yes. Do you know my mother? Do you trade with her?

[He knows the faces of some of her trading partners, but not all of them.]

Are... you from Ul'dah, maybe? Or Gridania?

[The last word is said with a bit of caution - he knows full well what the opinion of Keepers of the Moon tend to be in Gridania. Or at least, what he's been told.]

[ Maybe she should have thought about her excuse as to why she knows him a little earlier, huh. She doesn't want to lie to him, and even aside from that, Chizuru is pretty sure she can't even convincingly claim to be from the same place as him when she knows so little about his world on a daily life sort of level..

But then again, admitting that she knows his older self-- would a kid even believe that? Wouldn't it be too strange? ]

Ah.. no. I'm from a place called Japan. [ She decides to just going with the truth as far as she can. It's better than lying, and easier too. ] It's really, really far away.

[ And rather than mentioning anything directly about knowing his mother, she can just.. ]

I've heard a lot about you though. [ From.. Nara'a's own mouth, but.. ssh.. ] Only good things, don't worry!

[ Chizuru smiles. ]

Do you maybe want me to come over and help you? It must be scary by yourself.

Ja... pan? I don't know what that is... but I dunno about a lot of places. I - I can read a map, don't get me wrong, it's just... hard to put everything on a map...

[W-wait, what? His eyes widen.]

What do you mean, 'good things'? W... what good things?

[What is self-confidence, we just don't know.]

Um... maybe... I don't have anything to trade in return for it. Maybe an interesting rock...

That's okay! You don't have to trade anything for it.

[ Chizuru sure hopes that sounds reassuring - especially since she's trying to say it with a tone as bright and cheery as she can muster. The last thing she wants is poor Nara'a freaking out when he's so young and without anyone he recognizes.. ]

How about I explain all that other stuff to you once I'm there? You just have to tell me what you see around you right now, and then I'll be there to help as soon as I can.

Okay. ... I see a lot of trees. Maybe some buildings off in the distance? I... don't recognize them.

[Translation: he's in the Trenchwood, near town. But he doesn't know about lamp travel and he doesn't know about 'modern' buildings.]

A - and snow. I think that's what this is. I've never seen it in person before but my books say that it's cold.

Oh. Um... um... just a little bit ago. Mother took my sisters - most of them, at least - out hunting with her. She left me at home...

[He sniffles a little bit.]

I just want to go back to the Wellwick Wood...
