un: lady; video (semi-accidental)

[sansa means for this to be anonymous, unfortunately she hasn't really figured out usernames yet, let alone how to hide hers. she also means for this to be text, but the video is already recording when she starts speaking.

she's visibly younger, though not much (a little over three years, now); smaller and slighter and more wide-eyed, with her clothes not quite fitting right and her hair braided simply to one side. lady remains the same size, half in her lap on the couch, with blue ribbons around her neck rather than her fancy padded collar. sansa, too, wears the silvery-blue dress she wore to the rinne festival tied very tightly, her padded collar slightly askew.

and she looks somber. something has clearly been troubling her. she's not quite looking at the camera. her voice is low and a little bitter.]

What happens to us when they come back?

[danserai]

[ does lady sansa look younger? ahiru squints, trying to parse that. ]

Are you worried about someone?

[dohaeris]

[oh, a friendly girl close to her age. sansa smiles self-deprecatingly.]

It's me. [sansa's the problem it's her] I don't want to go back to where I was.

[she pauses briefly.]

There might be other people. Nobody would want to be in King's Landing right now, or any other place with a stupid war.

[danserai]

[ oh. ahiru briefly clasps her pendant. sometimes she misses gold crown town. like an ache, like a wound. mytho was there. rue was there. pique and lilie was there.

but this place had given her so much too. ]

I feel that way, sometimes. It's hard. And there isn't a good answer.

[dohaeris]

[sansa smiles sympathetically.]

Oh, are you from the Seven Kingdoms? I know the fighting's much worse outside the city. My mother and brother are in the Riverlands, I think.

[it's hard to tell where they are from what she overhears, and some of what the lannisters yell at her is clearly nonsense. robb doesn't even have an army of wargs...]

[danserai]

Oh, no, I'm just from a small town. Nowhere special.

You're from a kingdom? That's amazing.

[dohaeris]

[sansa laughs as gently as she's able.]

Kingdoms are full of towns!

[wait.]

Your town isn't sworn to any kings or lords or anything?

[that would really be amazing...]

[danserai]

[ ahiru thinks about this long and hard. mytho is a prince but he certainly doesn't rule the town. and she can't recall anything like that. ]

No. I think we just sort of . . . rule ourselves?

[dohaeris]

And no one's named themselves king?

[robb didn't name himself king...sansa wonders if someone else named bran the builder king of winter, or if he did it himself. he would have had good reason, given the boltons also called themselves kings and flayed people in those days. aegon wouldn't have conquered westeros if the storm king hadn't been so horrible, after all.]

That's impressive. Your people must be very peaceful.

[danserai]

[ ahiru seems perplexed by this. ]

I guess. I mean, everyone wants peace, right?

[dohaeris]

[sansa tries her best to sound like she's laughing with ahiru, and not at ahiru...]

Only if they're not stupid.

[she reflexively catches herself and glances around...her own house...though of course she would just say that she knows joffrey wants a quick end to war if caught.]

[danserai]

You're right! People can be really silly about these things.

[ knights and wars . . . what's the point of it all? ]
