[Glancing over his shoulder, his expression shifts from disgust to surprise, as the camera moves sideways slightly. It's clearly his Omen doing the recording, and until now, he had been entirely unaware of it.]

Wait a second - are you broadcasting this to the whole network? Why?

[There isn't an answer, but Martin seems to understand instinctively, because he heaves a long suffering sigh.]

Fine. Does, uh, anyone know how to stop this whole... sense-switching thing? Tasting everything you touch is... well, it's not great. Do you have any idea the number of things you touch in a day that taste awful? I mean, it doesn't even make sense! It's not all the time either. Sometimes it's totally fine, and others... Well, this whole "Congratulations your fingers think they're a tongue now and suddenly you've licked a doorknob!" thing is getting really old.

I suppose that's to obvious a solution, isn't it? I suppose you could strip completely nude to avoid tasting anything, but you'd still have to worry about your feet.

[ Forget how weird the very idea of that is. Ange is so used to weird things at this point that she moves right past it, especially when Martin's own explanation of it is.. so near-deadpan levels of casual.. ]

Is there something after you again? [ It might be more logical to jump to the idea of blood effects first, but Ange's paranoia is certainly at very, very high levels right now. Of course she's instead going to assume this. That there's something out there threatening Martin - again. ]

Trust me, I wish I knew. At least then maybe I could find a way to stop it from happening, or at least figure out a way to predict when it's going to happen.

I don't think this is a monster or anything? I mean, I haven't caught anything following me or anything, and it's happened to some other people too, I guess. I think we'd probably notice if it was some kind of creature or something causing this?

I mean, it wasn't so easy to notice the creature last time either. [ .. until that awful, awful smell happened, anyway.

But maybe Martin could just be missing some smell now if his senses are all wonky in the first place. ]

But even if it's not a creature, this stuff tends to last an entire month. [ Whether it's a creature or a blood effect - they usually don't vanish until the change of the months, right? It would explain why Martin is suddenly having trouble with it now, so early into a new month. ] Do you think you could deal with this for an entire month?

I've pretty much always worn gloves for years and my senses aren't, uh, entirely like human baseline -

Oh, um. I was my galaxy's brand of psychic before I got here.

Vivid example: Someone hates strongly enough, it can feel to me like they're radiating cold, or even leave the impression of cold on an object. Which is...why the glove habit, mostly, although I don't really need them much anymore. Self-defense against mild empathic impressions everywhere, but I didn't know that when I was little. I just knew my head felt quieter.

If I'm really in tune with someone or something, it's like...a bell reverberating or a song.
