[the last sansa saw of shouto he was stashed away in the sanctuary somewhere...she doesn't even know if he knows ochako and bakagou are gone...and now he has eggs? mystery eggs??

sansa wears her black feathered collar with silver direwolf caps from madame generosity over a grey linen dress; lady wears an almost identical feathered collar. they both peer worriedly into the camera.]

Shouto, do you know if the eggs are alive? You should be able to feel it, if they are. They'd be warm to the touch, and you'd need to keep them warm, like a mother bird would, but you'd have to be careful they don't overheat.

[unless they are...dragon eggs?? could totally alive dragon eggs wash up on shore??]

[ It's been two months for him. He spent the whole of January as a five-year-old and February inside a cocoon. Returned from his month-long coma, he hit the ground running. He's aware of the departures, spoke to Midoriya regarding their lost friends and both agreed they were better off at home, if indeed that's where they went. Given that, they're not trying to mount a rescue party to find them. ]

They're alive.

[ Which is why he won't hand them over so easily, considering he doesn't know if they indeed belong to anyone or what's growing inside. ]

You how to take care of them?

I know a little about birds.

[well, a lot about relatively few bird species. somethings are very different from species to species, but some fundamentals remain the same....mostly that eggs need to be kept safe and warm if they are to hatch. and dragon eggs need to be kept very warm, so it probably isn't just birds.

......she thinks she could probably get proper baby bird food out of her lunch tin, if she had to....]

I look after the ravens by my house, and I help people here with their chickens, sometimes. I could help you make a coop or a nest.

[she suspects the tricky part would be keeping it from getting too warm. unless it's dragons...]

If they are birds, I can use my magic to determine what they need once they hatch. And I raised Lady from when she was very little, so I know what to do when they're small.

[ Ravens are relatively intelligent birds, large too. He suspects they are difficult to take care of on your own giving him every reason to listen to her advice. ]

Did you raise the ravens?

[ There's a tilt of his head at the mention of magic. He forgets sometimes that magic isn't a tale in book but real in some worlds. ]

You can use magic for something like that?

[sansa's mouth twists, remembering maester luwin explaining the links of his chain. one was for ravenry. all the wild ravens had been a bit of a shock after sulking in the eyrie's rookery.]

They're wild ravens, but my magic lets me communicate with them. I think a good dreamwalker could learn to do it, but it comes from Westeros. I know how they raise their young.

[sansa's white raven omen winter swoops into frame.

"Baby ravens are soft and useless; I shouldn't like to be one," he says. "They need feeding all the time."

sansa rolls her eyes at him.]

All babies need feeding all the time.

[she glances back at shouto in the frame with a wry half-smile.]

I could help with that, too.

[swellter]

[ Oh, like Koji's quirk. Anima. The ability to speak with animals and be understood. He looks a bit surprised wondering if that quirk was common in her world. ]

I have a classmate with the same quirk. It makes him a versatile hero.

[ He says, gaze averting to the familiar omen that Kizu once chased around when she was still young. Now that her mind had developed closer to how she used to be she no longer tries to chase it, but observes it very carefully as if planning to pounce if it ever comes near. Kizu as usual, is around, sleeping inside his chest with no interest in coming out unless there's a good reason like stalking either Wolf or Tim. ]

You think something will hatch?

[ He didn't want to leave it in the caves when he discovered there was something alive inside but aside from keeping the egg warm and safe, he doesn't have any further plans than to find it's mother or keeper. He's returned to the cave twice now, returning the eggs to the spot he found them in but even with Kizu waiting there for hours, no one came to claim them before he decided to take them back home for the night. ]

Please tell me that they are not multi-colored and about knee high. I'm not missing any, but I just wanted to be sure.

[ A slight tilt of his head. What kind of eggs are you hatching??? ]

No, they're not multi-colored or knee-high.

[onerthes]

[Looooong story.]

Oh good. They're not bringing those backs. That would have been bad. Where did you find these eggs though? Usually two eggs are ... well, I mean it's a little strange?

[swellter]

[ He wants to see these eggs now... ]

Bringing what back?

[ He nods his head at the summary. He wasn't expecting to find them either. ]

In the caves. I was looking for a special gift and I found them down there.

[ Undisturbed and still intact. They looked a little too fragile and would have left them there if some kind of care giver had shown up in the hours he searched for the gift and kept coming back to a particular area with no one in sight to claim them. ]

It was a nasty little monstrous curse in the nightmare. They had filthy little acid blooded monsters in them. Very unpleasant.

Huh. So, you might be careful, but maybe they're meant to be hatched?

[swellter]

[ Acid blood? He blinks. It sounds like Mina's quirk, except she called it a monster. It helps him picture it though, what it might have looked like, a pink alien queen maybe? ]

I waited to see if anyone would come for them. Monster or not.

No one came.

I don't know if someone is supposed to hatch them but I couldn't leave them there without someone to take care of them.

[There was a definite similarity, though she didn't have nearly the level of control over it that Mina did.]

That's understandable, and commendable. You might just want to be careful to be sure that nothing bad happens. Still, I do hope you find who they are the eggs of.

[ He nods with a definitive understanding of what is being asked. ]

I plan to go back.

No one wants to grow up without a mother.

That... That's actually a commendable attitude to have. Even considering the risks, however small they might be, to want to make sure they know their mother.

I do hope you don't go alone, and that it works out well.

I have my friends.

[ That's always been enough for him. ]

Good. You have people that you can travel with, and that's the important part. Everything here is better if you're not alone.

[ That is... very insightful, enough that it makes him pause before answering. ]

Hah, well. Yes. Almost everything. I'm quite certain that if you give me time I can think of one or two things that are best alone. But they're rare.

Regardless in this world, it's doubly true.

Shouto, what's going on? Eggs need to be at a consistent temperature if they're expected to hatch. How long have you had them? Do you need help?

Two eggs.

[ Straight to the point and completely unaware of how it sounds coming out of nowhere, Shouto nods at Waver with that ever-unemotive face. ]

They're fertilized.

[ So no, not for breakfast. ]

I found two eggs unattended while searching for a present in the caves. No one came to claim them after a few hours so I took them.

[ Afraid they might be damaged or get too cold. ]

Two days. I've been keeping them warm with my quirk.

[He sighed. This was....a day, already. ]

Shouto, please. You're not constantly carrying them around, are you?

Eggs aren't my specialty, but there's enough chickens in town that we can either find one or find the instructions to make an incubator.

Timcanpy is sitting on them when I have to go out. Kizu is also keeping them warm. She still has her winter coat.

[ All in all, he has it all under control... or so he thinks. He's, at least, not worried about breaking them, but there's a pause at that suggestion. He looks down at the camera for a second longer, pondering how that might affect the eggs. ]

You can make an incubator?

[ He's very interested, even if he doesn't look the part, maybe if you squint. ]

[ A subtle shift of his brow. Is that a guess at a size? ]

I don't know what they are.

[ Said very matter-of-factly not even a bit offended that he might think he doesn't know what a chicken is.

But what he meant by that is: ] I don't know what the eggs I found are.

[Where is this conversation even going... serves him right for thinking he could talk to a kid.]

...What makes you so sure they belong to someone then? There's a lot of wild creatures around.

[ He's a young adult thank you very much, one with a Hero Provisional license so adults should not be afraid to bring their concerns to him. It's a hero's job to listen to all concerns, even of the chicken variety. ]

I don't know if they belong to someone. But I haven't seen any evidence that any animal has returned to the spot that I found them in. I set my omen to wait at the location in case someone turns up. It's been a week, and so I'm expanding my search in case they do belong to someone.

If it's a prey animal it might not have been willing to come back while you were around.

There's also a good chance the mother would reject them since they've been handled now.

[ He has to think about that for a second, looking every bit like he's contemplating that question before making up his mind. ]

[ Nodding to himself in affirmation. ]

Okay, good. I'd hate for someone to lose an egg that was going to be a baby.

I have the same feelings on the matter.

However, it's been a week and neither the mother or father have returned to claim them.

[ Hence, his network-wide message. ]

Well if they're bird eggs, I wouldn't expect that they would.

[How would a bird know where they were or how to communicate that they wanted them back if this guy had them, after all?]

And it's easy to tell people eggs from bird eggs, because people eggs are larger and the shell is soft.

[ Congratulations, you have completely stumped him. He blinks, eyes widening slightly at the idea. ]

Why wouldn't they return?

[ Oddly, this is not the first time this question has been posed, not that Shouto thinks is an odd question, so he takes a second to confirm he still has the same answer as before and answers slightly affirmatively. ]

Similar, I believe. Though, I can't be sure until I find their mother or they hatch.

Isn't doing such a thing difficult or dangerous here? If you don't know what's inside the egg. Perhaps that's also why no one has claimed it?

I can't tell what it is, but they're alive. I want to return the, to its parents or caregiver before they hatch.
