I've seen the post with the young lady who was tasting people. My...predicament is not quite so severe, but is anyone else seeing out of their nostrils? I must say that in my entire year here, even when I was turned into a Beast, this is my least favorite thing.

Frankly, I feel ridiculous! And I fear that I'll be feeling ridiculous all month long! As far as I'm concerned, The Moss King owes me a debt and I would very much like to collect. What's the best method of doing so? If it's even possible at all!

Are you seeing ONLY out of your nostrils?

Unfortunately, yes. I also seem to be seeing sounds when I listen to music, but not when I'm talking to others. But every bit of seeing is through my wretched nostrils!

Seeing sounds seems a lot more pleasant than seeing from your nostrils. Don't feel like you need to look at me while we talk. I can switch to voice if that's more comfortable.

Not when they're all olive green and khaki. Awful colors, those. [and she sounds relieved] Yes, I think that would likely be best. I should have done this as an audio to start off with, really. Thank you, mister...?

It's difficult to know what to do when you're suddenly seeing from the inside of your nose.

I wonder if different music would give you different colors.

It is! It's not completely terrible when I'm supposed to be looking at a plate of food, but absolutely awkward when I try to see people. It's like I've turned into mother.

I'm not sure? I only listen to classical, but surely that should give better colors. It's Chopin, for goodness sake, not Wagner. I would think that Chopin would give prettier colors.

I've found that neck pain is the usual punishment for those types. It doesn't look natural on you so I'm not sure if that's a relief or more embarrassing.

I don't claim to be an expert on Chopin's tastes, but maybe those colors were beautiful to him. I think Japanese music would be more pinks and purples.

I'd suggest Ryuichi Sakamoto. It's not a hobby I have a lot of time to study, but he's the one I enjoy the most. Most would say I spend too much time working, but I don't think the sound of computer keys is really the best music.

There must be a way to voice activate this thing, but I've yet to find it. [she says apologetically]

It's kind of an unusual answer, but have you expected it to work? The Omnis seem to adapt to what we need so. I would say you need it now. I don't know how it can change, but it's adaptable.

No, I can't say that I have...I'm still amazed by the variations in magic and technology this place has. It's worth trying? [and she says clearly 'find Ryuichi Sakamoto' and music begins to play] Ah, as you suspected, variations of pinks and purples! How did you guess?

In Japan, we have Sakura trees, named after their blossom. They're so bright pink as to almost look red and with purple centers. When the petals begin to fall, it's almost like it's snowing pinks and reds. But, we're a polite country and red is too bold so most of us would think of the pinks and purples. Sakura trees and Japan are so closely tied together that when I think of our country, it's those colors more than the flag.

How do you see out of your nostrils? Does that involve tilting your head backwards?

My goodness! I hadn't realized that the reverence towards sakura trees ran so deeply. They are beautiful, though, there are some which bloom here and we usually get some kind of special occasion which is actually special for it.

That's exactly what it involves and it makes me rather cross. Also, I see colors when music plays, I'd forgotten to include that part. That part isn't so bad.

Ever since early March! For the life of me, I cannot see the benefit to either the Pthumerians or those wishing to overthrow them to make me see through my nostrils. In case it's to make me royally pissed with each side. In which case, well done![she's fairly sure it's a blood effect as well, but that doesn't mean she likes it]

We have holidays surrounding them. It's common for school or work friends to get together and have picnics while they're in bloom. Even older men like the tradition.

Japan is a place of tradition, though.

Do you like the colors more?

Really? That's a rather lovely tradition. We have nothing like that in the States, at least not centered around trees. Though, people do like to go deeper into New England at fall to watch the leaves change color.

I'm not sure the States are old enough to have tradition, unless one counts Thanksgiving.

In comparison to England and Japan, the United States is a very young country. It hasn't had as much time to create traditions, and I don't think as much of a focus. Japan has a lot of them. You'll even find old shrines in the middle of modern electronic stores.

Are you from the US?

That's amazing! I'd love to see that someday, even if I'm not sure how. I'm from 1912, there really wasn't much to electricity other than lights and telegraphs.

I am, Philadelphia to be exact. Though, frankly if I have a choice in the matter, I'd like to stay here.

Sorry, it's just that you're only 35 years too late to see Japanese men walking around with swords.

There is, but at least here I know the basic rules of how to survive. Back home? There's nothing worth going to.

[ There's no reason to doubt it. Light knows he should prefer home and should be struggling to find a way back, but this world has someone soothed that itch. ]

There are things I miss. My family is there. My job. It's ironic that I spent so long working toward my career and was only able to keep it for a few years.
