I have discovered it. The most magnificent batcat to ever exist.

[He turned the camera to face the batcat in question. It looked like....well....there was no denying it bore a shocking resemblance to a cat which had inspired a popular twenty-first century meme. The only difference was the batwings this one possessed, currently in a relaxed stance as it eyed Maul with feline curiosity. Other than that, the grumpy little cat was exactly the same as its long-ago predecessor.]

I will hear no arguments to the contrary. This creature is perfect.

This is truly a king among batcats...you should keep it and love it and name it something cute, like Tartar Sauce. <3

I plan to befriend it by feeding it some of my blood over a period of time until I have gained the creature's trust. It is so small though, much smaller than other batcats I have seen. Do you think it might be a runt?

Tartar Sauce sounds like a food. Why would one name a creature after food?

It seems healthy enough to me. If it is a runt then I'm sure Lord Maul's blood is exactly the boost it needs. I wish you good luck in this endeavor and hope someday I'll get to meet it and give it scritchies behind its darling little ears <3 <3 <3

But you know, I'm actually not sure? It was common for people to give pets food names in my home world, like Peanut Butter Sandwich or Egg Tart, but I'm certain none of those people had any intention of ever eating their pets. It just seemed cute, I suppose.

Lord Maul should post more pictures of the batcat, to help us come up with a name that really suits it. <3

Perhaps. Or maybe it is simply a dwarf feline. My brother has a dwarf rathtar for a pet and it is much, much smaller than a normal rathtar would be.

[Thankfully for all of Trench, given a normal rathtar could have easily swallowed a human being in three seconds flat.]

I prefer to give mine the naming conventions of the Nightkin. Strong, fearsome names for the creatures so that those who see them will fear their very presence.

Indeed. I've never seen so unique a batcat. What an amazing little face it has.

[Maul could definitely relate to a creature that looked permanently grumpy. His own resting face was more like "wants to murder you for breathing too loud in his general direction" though he couldn't really help it.]

I think I shall once I fully gain the trust of the beast. It's not nearly so bad-tempered as the appearance would lead one to believe but it still is a bit wary of me as of right now.

Ever see what looks like a little statue of a cat with bat wings sitting on one of the buildings around Trench? That's usually a batcat that is simply being very still at the moment.

I hadn't decided but a number of people have called them Grumpy Cat even though they are rather mild-tempered. I'm not sure why although the name does suit the appearance, don't you think? They just have a face that's permanently like that.
