Good morning, everyone. [ said a polite but hesitant young man's voice offscreen. ] I might have a problem. Does anyone know how to sew?
[ The Omni hovered over a freshly laundered dark green jumpsuit. There were rips in the side where something with long nails or claws had scratched through. ]
I know it's bad, but this means a lot to me. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out in time for the festival. Thank you very much.

'Snap'...? You're the person from the well! Thanks for your help! Yeah, it was kind of dark, and I was covered in mud...
[ He hopes it was just mud... ]

That's me! Ruby Rose. Kind of a long time resident in this world one way or another. Or at least I was trapped in a dream world that collapsed around the same time we all started washing up here.
Happy to help out! Yeah- Apparently the sewers are not a fun place to hang out in here. Who would have thought?

You can call me Deku. I guess it doesn't really matter among Sleepers, but I'm not really used to giving my real name out on the internet.
[ Granted, his past interactions with the internet involved nerding out on All Might fan forums under a personal account. In fact, this account was his first public one, using his Hero name and all. The first time he thought about his online presence as something professional. ]
A bunch of people were! They were all in a town, and some stuff happened, and now they're here. Definitely not a coincidence.
Are you just saying that, or were you actually hanging out in the sewers?
[ In the short time he's been here, he's met a witch, a classical Greek hero, an adventurer, an internet troll, and a guy from LA, to name a few. He wouldn't be surprised if he made friends with a sewer-dweller as well. ]

[She grins a little at that question.]
Okay- I was-
But it's not something I normally do. I'm kind of a professional monster hunter back where I come from. I was kind of getting a lay of the land- I didn't expect to run into a situation quite like that.
But we'd have monsters hanging around in the sewers back at home too. So I really shouldn't have been that surprised.

Spider-Man? That definitely sounds like a hero name. I have to meet him!
[ He calms down a bit. ]
A-Anyway, I can tell you my real name later. That's crazy how many Sleepers here have monsters and magic back home too, but it's probably for the best. If we hadn't been able to handle ourselves... Once I get some notebooks, let's compare notes. Mine didn't come here with me, but I can share what I remember on capture techniques.
[ He's slightly manic in his work ethic these days, now that he's experienced firsthand the gap between his ability and the dangers of this world. ]

He can do anything that a spider can. He can spin webs, lay like a bajillion eggs at a time and I'm pretty sure he's got no teeth too. It's hard to tell because of his mask.
[Okay. Not all of those are accurate but she's heard his theme song and she's rolling with it.]
That's fair!
Well I'm just glad my world isn't the one- I'd feel pretty ripped off if I was the only one from a weird nightmare world.
Oh- Oh! You actually write all of this down? That's not a half bad idea. I mean I tend to make blue prints and such for weapons- But I've never thought of taking notes on techniques on stuff. That's cool.
1/2 for this face
Taking notes is not... that cool... [ He always got called a nerd for it. ]
2/2

Maybe not- But they can be important too. One of my teammates back home did most of our note taking. You know before our school blew up.
[And she lights up at the mention of her blue prints.]
So I didn't get to show in the sewers because it was pretty cramped, but I've actually got a pretty cool weapon myself.
[From the back of her belt she pulls out a red box which then unfolds out into a huge mechanical scythe.]
This is Crescent Rose. She's a high impact sniper rifle and a scythe- Back where I'm from it's pretty common to have weapons sort of like this-
Either way I designed her myself with a little help from my uncle. I've made a few other weapons around town too. Back in the dream it was kind of a little business I had taken on.

Amazing! Are you a full-blown engineer too then?
no subject
Kind of, Sorta! I'll be the first to admit that my interests are solely on weaponry and other sorts of equipment. But with some time and effort I don't think there's much I couldn't put together.
My world is kind of overrun with monsters so being able to take care of your own gear when you're outside of a city or kingdom is pretty key. You can't rely on a small town still being around if you need a tune up.
no subject
Hang on... You might like these.
[ His eyes light up, and he fumbles offscreen for something. He'd be remiss if he didn't show off Hatsume's handiwork to a fellow gearhead. ]
These were designed by Hatsume-san, a student in the Support Course at my school. They make the support items heroes use.
[ They're parts of his hero costume: White work gloves with hard, circular wrists are placed on the floor in view of the Omni. They are followed by black metal plating in the shape of shoes. The Iron Soles make a solid thunk. ]
They're made to complement my super strength by directing its force. I can't wait to spar with you sometime!
no subject
Woah- Those look so cool. That Hatsume must really know their stuff. I might need to a closer look at those. You know-So I can fix them up if you ever need it.
[And not because she's total nerd for this at all. At all.]
I might have to set aside some time to get a spar in. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do when we're stuck down a well.

[ Deer Country is always an emergency, all the time. ]
They're fully mechanical, no electric parts. I can provide a general description of materials, but I don't have the full manuals with me.
[ He grins. How can he refuse? ]
And a demonstration. Looking forward to anything you have to teach me, Rose-san.

[She nods and jots down a few notes herself.]
Sounds good- Once I get an actual look at them I should be able to repair or duplicate the parts without much of a problem.
Please! That would be fantastic.
