With all this Hali business going on... it made me think. I'm curious as to what sorts of gods you have in your worlds. Mine has a... complicated system, and who you worship depends on where you live. Where I grew up we had the Twelve - and each person has a patron. Mine, for example, is Thaliak the Scholar. ... Appropriate, in my opinion. But my clan and others like them also worship Menphina, the lover - she's also the moon.

I can explain some of the others as well. There's also Hydaelyn - the Mothercrystal. But she's more... complicated.

What sort of deities are in your world?

Seems like there's a new religion and new deity turning up everyday where I come from. Can't keep track of them.

I know the feeling. I keep meeting new species that worship new gods... I just tend to end up fighting them.

I don't enjoy that part.

There are thousands of different gods in my world. The one I'm most familiar with has... well, a lot of different names but she's mostly referred to as God or Holy Mother.

She doesn't fit in well with other deities I've known back home. Humanity gave birth to her, not the other way around.

You had the Twelve back home.. But aren't there twelve important Pthumerians here as well..? [ From what Chizuru knows, anyway - she sure won't claim to be an expert, but she's heard this much before. ] Is that just a coincidence..?

Hm... maybe because there are twelve moons in a year? They're... named quite differently here, but it's still the same number. And each of the twelve watches over a moon, just like the patrons here.

So it's a coincidence in the sense that it's the same number of moons in a year, I suppose.

They were brothers. One of light and one of darkness.
They created our world and then abandoned it after someone they had cursed tried to rise up against them.

Well, I'm not any kind of expert in comparative religion, but I know back home is a big galaxy, and yeah it's complicated.

Basically, whether any gods in stories across the galaxy actually ever existed, or maybe a specific being did, or does exist, and was a powerful Force user that people decided was a god? Who knows. Some people who believe in particular gods may straight up say, 'so and so is an avatar of the Force or an aspect of the Force'. Or...whatever they call it. Ashla. The Life Current. The Unity.

I have personally met a being who called himself the Bendu, or the one in the middle. He seemed to want to be left alone, not worshiped, but I could see how he could be called a god.

Also, iconography pops up in Jedi Temples of figures called the Father, the Son, and the Daughter. I, uh, have heard a first hand account they were also real and powerful entities, maybe aligned with aspects of the Force, but that person also witnessed their deaths.

Lothal, where I'm from, has some hmmm, folklore, that most people will tell you at this point is just stories. But I can tell you for a fact that some of it is real, and other evidence points to Jedi having visited Lothal on and off for, well, as long as there's been hyperspace travel in that sector, probably. So, tens of thousands of years. That might account for some of the stories.

That's true. I know of a lot of worlds as well, and I don't know... their stories. Not those kinds of stories, anyway. I know how things ended, not... what they believed. In large part, at least.

If people believe in something enough then they very well might have become gods. At least where I'm from. That doesn't mean that it works that way in your universe. And I can imagine that someone that old might just want peace!

Stories over that amount of time would get diluted and changed, yes. Even histories that happened a few hundred years ago get twisted in my world.

When the cats of my Clan die, they walk to Silverpelt and join the ranks of StarClan. StarClan controls the weather, and sends messages to us that our medicine cats interpret. They aren't patrons, exactly, but the cats we knew in life watch over us and grant blessings to those who earn them.

Either! I'm interested in both. I know some worlds don't have gods that physically manifest.

Well, as far as immortals go, you've got the Judge. She's the oldest, sort of the final authority on any afterlife stuff. Then Shawn's in charge of the Bad Place now, and I'm running the Good Place. Some other folks on the council, of course, Janet's the head of the Janet Union these days...

But none of us are actually gods or anything like that - I mean, we didn't create the Earth. Anyone who calls themselves a god is just trying to start some kind of weird human cult, and they need to be knocked down a peg. And humans make up fake gods to weaponize against each other, I guess.

Oh, well mine has many, many different gods and can be really hard to follow too! Though I had originally only known and worshipped one back home, before I started traveling. Um, but like I said there are so very many that I am not certain where to start, or where to end!

Only one, or so I was brought up to believe. There's a great deal of fighting over what that one deity is really like, though. You could almost believe different groups are worshiping different divine beings.

... It sounds like quite a lot of work for it to be just one god. Even gods must get tired! I don't understand why people fight over what a deity is like, though. Can't people just let others be?

The world I'm from has many different belief systems. In my country, there are various gods that played part in the creation of our world...Through we do not worship them as other religions might, we do show them spiritual respect. We are more focused on the honoring of the spirit than the worship of gods, including the spirits of our ancestors.

A country I traveled to, and live in now, is mostly comprised of people that worship a singular God, one that has manifested in three ways...Though they are all part of the one whole, the Creator.

But I'm aware that there are many more besides...I'm just not as versed in them.

Honoring the spirit... I know of a place like that. So like the kami, then? I know Yanxia and Hingashi share that sort of belief system.

... Manifested in three... uh. Is... isn't that then three gods? That's very confusing.

Oh, of course. I'm just curious... there's likely more in my world that I'm not aware of! There's still plenty of places I haven't yet been.
