[ When Zari's face comes on the screen, it's painted like a glamorous leopard spotted cat and her hair is done up to mimic the shape of cat ears. She's sitting on a plush pink upholstered chair with carefully curated items on the wall behind her that fit the themes of light pink and leopard print. ]

Hi, Z Nation! It's your favorite celebfluencer... me! Okay, I know we're all from different times and places and a lot of you don't know me yet, but that's okay. We'll get there. My name is Zari Tarazi and I'm all about clean living, beauty and staying true to yourself. I'm a model, actress, singer and practicing Muslim.

I think I need to start doing regular content here, because I have absolutely fallen off my posting schedule in the last few months and that's no way to live, so think of this as a sort of newsletter-vlog. Or whatever.

[ She sits up a little straighter and then resettles in, eyes glancing to the side quickly to make sure her ring light is still positioned correctly. ]

First of all, I am looking for instrumentalists who would be interested in helping me to make some new music. Just something fun... maybe we could do some little concerts around the city the brighten everyone's days, record a few things. No big. I would be singing, of course, but I'm open to the right collaboration.

Next up, who wants to get mani-pedis t want to meet some people who are down for gabbing and good skincare and I haven't had a facial since we saved the world or stopped with me or do face masks or anything like that? I'm dying for some feminine companionship. Now, I don't drink, but if you want a glass of wine with all that, totally cool with me. I justime from collapsing in on itself?

[ She looks away for a moment. ]

Is that what we did? Oh, whatever. Anyway, you're totally welcome for it, but my skin is a disaster. Time travel rages havoc on the pores.

Oh, and speaking of not drinking, where's a good spot for mocktails around here? Low-cal preferred, organic required. Consume healthy when you can!

[ A small pause. ]

Rest assured, since meat is somewhat dear in this world, due to the challenges of raising livestock, there's a lot more plant-based options. Mushrooms seem the primary source of protein for locals and Sleepers alike. I was raised Anglo-Catholic, so I'm accustomed to fish on Fridays. Not as restrictive, but still something that's stuck with me, even though I wouldn't call myself religious by any stretch of the imagination.

[At least he doesn't mind giving a lovely woman attention: he's fond of receiving compliments himself.]

Hmmm, a good deal. You seem adept at networking, considering the requests you've made, and you have a refreshing zest about you, a joy of living and experiencing life and sharing those experiences. I take it that's the meaning of being a celebfluencer?

Just catch him before his first coffee. He's a little less coordinated and easier to bully into doing things that are good for him.

[ A messy family she didn't know she needed kind of described the team that Laurel worked with back home. ]

Kidnapping, huh? Well, that's one way to bring somebody onto the team. [ She looks amused. ] I know a little about the original line up and how the entire team was brought together by a guy named Rip.

But I'm glad to hear you're happy with them, Zari. Finding a team and a family you can trust in can make one hell of a difference.

[ She won't get into details about her own experiences just yet. ]

Do you have some kind of special ability like the others?

[catchatting]

Ohhhh you're evil. I knew there was something I liked about you.

It's fiiine! We've got Vyng! [ Tuck leans back to look for his friend and shouts: ] Vyyng!

[ And there behind the giant mountain of a man another head pops into view, this one with long, wild gray hair and pointed ears.

"Hey, I'm Vyng. I play the harp! And I beatbox." ]

So that's three! You, me, 'n Vyng!

Pretty sure that'd be like trying to shine brighter than the sun… [And he's being charming and flirty. But then he realizes that he technically can shine brighter than the sun with his powers and clears his throat awkwardly.] Uh, not literally, you know what I mean.

And hey, what can I say? I grew up a romantic. I learned guitar to impress girls and started perfecting my looks to impress girls. Buuuut I stuck with it for me.

[royalfling]

[ Wu stares at her, blinking.

That's. Sure something. ​]

You... wow! That's sure something.

That's really awful, that they lost their smell entirely! That must have been a bad perfume-- ah. [ way to insult her, bud ] But good on you, getting it all fixed and not getting, um, all hell-magic mobbed!

[luckystriker]

Tactical, not evil. He's a slippery bastard and you need to use every trick up your sleeves to one-up him.

Are aiming to fluster him or disarm him?

[catchatting]

Well, I couldn't let the perfume launch once I knew what it would do to people!

[ At the time, it has been more about the numbers, but she wants to think she would have done the right thing regardless. She may not be some perfect entity for Good, but she doesn't want to hurt people. At least not the people who don't deserve it! ]

Can you imagine never smelling again? Though that might be a good thing in some situations...

[catchatting]

[ Zari laughs, because while Nate isn't her type, exactly, the other Zari is completely stupid in love with him and he is a really good guy most of the time. ]

Oh, my brother Behrad kidnapped me because I was going to tell our parents that he was lying about business school. I don't think anyone means to join that team. We all just accidentally fall into it. I wound up helping them a little and then after that, I guess I just... found a family or something. That sounds totally dorky, but I love them. Being super internet famous doesn't exactly bring in the best sort of friendships, but with the Legends, I know they'd all have my back if I needed it and none of them would sleep with my boyfriend.

[catchatting]

Oh, it's definitely a big part of it. You're selling a lifestyle brand by living and sharing a lot of yourself with others, so it's important to be at one's best.

[ She smiles, but the truth is that while she still enjoys all of this stuff, she's well-aware that life is about a lot more than that. ]

It's important to take care of the inner and outer you, you know? That way you can feel your best and do your best at everything.

[catchatting]

[ Zari actually laughs. ]

Too bad my friend Nate isn't here. He can talk about his hair products for hours if you let him--do not let him because it is soooooo boring and that's coming from me. But do tell your gross teen boy housemates to clean under their nails. That is a worthwhile beginner's tip. Boys need self-care, too, especially teen boys. I lived with one for years and at least he smells better now that he's in his 20s. Well, except for when he smells like a walking contact high.

[catchatting]

Harp and beatbox? Oh, boy, this is going to be chaotic, isn't it?

[ She looks slightly afraid. ]

[catchatting]

Hmm, well my family's totem works for both me and my brother, but it's back with him right now. I guess I'm still figuring out my thing, but I am a super socializer, which is a big hole for the Legends right now. Like have you met them? They kind of need me.

[ And Zari needs them, but still! Get some social skills, people. ]

Here, I seem to have some cool powers, though.

[catchatting]

Younger. He'd be a pain in the ass if I didn't love him so much.
Do you have any siblings?

[catchatting]

Well, that's good. It's important to do things for yourself. If it gets you girls, that's just a bonus, because it means they like you for who you are.

Besides, most people are attracted to attitude just as much as looks. Maybe more.

[catchatting]

Do I have to choose?

[rocinantes]

Not that I know of.
If I do, that'd be a pretty fucking weird thing.
But I don't think so.
Probably good considering I'm more than enough.

Although Fern can't really get dirt under his fingernails because he's grass, and Varian rarely every takes his gloves off since he's always doing experiments. Luca could probably learn from that stuff though. I'm pretty sure all of them could use self care, but you'd have a hard time being able to convince 2 of the three of them to do that!

[Actually, even Luz would probably neglect it if she wasn't reminded. She understood personal hygiene but, like Varian, tended to get lost in her own projects].

But that doesn't sound dorky! Family isn't just who you're related to. If you love them, you love them. [He's a big sap.]

Wow, yeah, nobody should do that.

I only met them briefly, and the one person I knew more was Ray. But it's interesting that you have a family object that gives you an ability. Anything I have, is pure tech.

I don't doubt for a second that they need you.

[ She gives her a smile. ]

No powers for me yet. It might take some time. What can you do?

You seem like a capable woman so I'm sure you'd have no trouble doing both at the same time without any help from me.
