[The video starts with a very close-up view of Mebh's face as she tries to figure out if her Omni is even working or not. She hasn't made much of an effort to use the Omni up until now, since she's not familiar with this kind of technology at all. Eventually she pulls away; though the camera is still at a noticeable angle, the backdrop looks as though she's somewhere around the Waystation, since the windmill can be seen. She's flanked on either side by two grey, yellow-eyed wolves, one of whom leans forward to sniff at the camera for a moment before Mebh rolls her eyes and nudges it away.]
Robyn said I could use this thing to talk to people. [Her expression briefly changes to a sadder one. Mentioning Robyn hurts. Robyn had said they would look for their parents together while they were here, but now she's gone and Mebh can't find her. Though she can't dwell on that right now, because she has a Complaint.]
So isn't there a real forest around here? Not like the Trenchwood place. There's nothin' good in there and it smells all nasty.
[And there's something about it that seems even worse at night; she can't bring herself to go in when it's dark out, because even she can tell it's not safe, though she's not going to admit that easily.]
But I'm not livin' in the town. Not ever. Dunno how anybody can stand all those smells.
[There's a very stubborn look in her eyes when she says this. Even if this world is more dangerous than the one she remembers and there are far worse things living here than people who hunt wolves, she hates the idea of caging herself in. And she can't live in a town when it reminds her that the only friend she had from home has now disappeared.
For a moment, Mebh goes quiet...and then she suddenly bares her teeth and lets out a guttural growl, the screen shaking violently as she takes the Omni and throws it on the ground in anger and frustration. The screen shows the sky for a few moments before it shuts off.]

Do you not have any place to stay, Mebh? Can't you stay with Robyn?
no subject
[She couldn't have possibly gone into the water...could she?]
no subject
That...I mean. She may have woken up, Mebh. I hate to say that, but it's happened to people I know before.

Sorry dude, there's only the messed up woods around the city. Um.... [Since she's talking about it....]
If you're not living in the city, where're you staying?
[Because even though she seems pretty capable, this place is still really dangerous.]
no subject
[Mebh is honestly not very good at thinking rationally when she's angry or upset, and Robyn's disappearance was the last straw for her. All she wanted to do was get out of the city, and she hasn't really taken other options into account aside from confirming that being in Trenchwood at night is a really bad idea.]
no subject
[Sounds like it sucks, actually.]
What about Robyn? Is she with you?
[She always seemed pretty responsible, surely she'd be finding housing for them that's safe?]

However, there are more rural areas stretching beyond the city. The area known as Ache seems promising if one desires to escape the overwhelming presence of the city.
video
[After all, back home most people seemed preoccupied with cutting down forests to increase farmland for the towns. Before Mebh found herself here, she remembers that she and her pack were finding a new place to live, where their way of life wouldn't be disturbed...and now this.]
video, but like awkwardly angled because he's not yet comfortable with handling the omni.
Should one presume that you were raised in wilder corners of the world?

And while Ange is inclined to try and answer some of the girl's questions, it's that growl at the end that catches her attention more than anything. Is it just because she hates the idea of a city? It wouldn't surprise Ange, considering the way she acted when they spoke before, like she used to live outside of one. Or maybe there's more going on.
Who ever knows in this place. ]
Are you angry about the lack of a forest?
[ Maybe asking bluntly is just the best way to go about this, she figures, considering how feral the child is. ]
no subject
[Naturally she's angry that this place isn't what she's used to, but Robyn's disappearance has added a whole other layer to that. After everything they went through back home, Mebh thought she'd at least be alright here as long as she had Robyn...and now she's gone.]

[ Ange repeats the name, trying to think. She doesn't think that it's someone she knows - but then again, there are so many people in this place she doesn't know. Ange isn't exactly the most social of people.
But she is pretty good at logical thinking. This girl is new, yet this Robyn seems important to her. And there was a last time, meaning Mebh must know Robyn from her own world. ]
.. ah. [ She slowly says, her voice turning a tad softer, like she can feel sympathy for this sentiment. ]
I'm sorry. That happens here sometimes. People just.. go back into the ocean, for some reason.

The soil here isn't so great for plant growth, unfortunately. I don't think it could sustain a half-decent forest without a lot of work to it. Maybe eventually we can make it workable, but not just yet.
[And she doesn't want to stay in the city, which is understandable, but worrying. ]
Besides, lots of really big monsters out in the sticks. Are you sure you're safe?
no subject
[Mebh doesn't much like how people in towns keep cutting down forests without much consideration for how much is left, but at least she can understand that they live off the land as much as she and her mother do. At least, in her time period.]
Nobody can catch me. [She says that, but with the emotional roller coaster she's going through right now, she only sounds half convinced of that herself.]

[Varian's further along in the general timeline of things than Mebh is, but he's also from far beyond a time where big industrial farming would take place. What happens in Trench is far more familiar to what he's used to back home. Small farms, eeking out whatever they could form the land. ]
Maybe- but there's always a chance. It's got to be safer with someone else, right?

[Truthfully, Mebh hasn't thought this through very well. She's not very rational when she gets upset, and being unable to find Robyn hasn't done wonders for her mood.]
I've lived on me own before. I can do it again.
[Except last time she did that, she was waiting for her mother to come back. Now she's not sure when she'll see anyone from home again.]

Video; UN: Willow
[Willow's pretty sure they've already talked about how the forest was dangerous, though, and Mebh wasn't quite this upset about it. It's pretty clear there's a lot more going on.]
Did something happen?
no subject
[Mebh has held onto the incense because she found it at least smells pleasant, but she's had no idea what it's for.]
...Robyn's not here. I can't find her anywhere.
no subject
[Willow moves off camera for a second to gather a couple of the incense sticks she has in her room, and brings them back.]
These. You can burn them and they smell good. Just... you know, be careful you don't set anything on fire that you didn't want to.
[She frowns at the news that Robyn seems to be gone.]
Not here as in missing, or not here as in went back to the ocean, or...?

We live in the Trenchwoods, if you've got a safe house or den or whatever you can sneak through the creepy parts with those weird lanterns.
[ From the background, Alice does seem to be in the woods. Most of what can be seen is gnarled tree trunk and dull red leaves - she's blending right in, intentional or not. The ambience is creepy as all get out here, but she does have to rank it as a little better than the Abyss. ]

Then I need to find a den. I can't stay in that town.
[Not without Robyn.]

Nah, that's about all we've got for woods. It's either that or Stinky Town.
[He's trying to be friendly, but isn't about to blurt out that he's fretting over some kid he's never met before.]
You got food out there, kid? And a safe place to sleep?
[That's what matters most here.]
no subject
I'll find somethin'. I'm good at smellin' food out.
[She's not above stealing food, either, even if she'd rather hunt for it. Fortunately she isn't too far from the Waystation.]
