Hello everyone! Ladies and Gentlemen and.. people who aren't either but.. are other things I guess- ANYWAY! I'm Bolin, you might know me, I was in Deerington for a little while before we made the journey here. Mako's brother, earthbender, at your service.

[Bright! Excited! He's got so much to say and it's all great!! Bolin is sitting in a booth in The Raccoon Room, it's all very fancy and newly opened as you might remember from the big party on Halloween. Heck, you might have seen him there performing tricks with his omen Pabu the fire ferret, who is currently draped around the back of Bolin's neck like a scarf, only mildly interested in what's happening but squeaks every time Bolin gesticulates particularly big.]

Firstly, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to the Raccoon Room's opening night, it was great and I know it meant the world to Mako and Wu. And hey, if you had fun you should come back which is what brings me to my next point!

We're gonna do a musical.

[Jazz handssssssss! His eyes are very bright. Is this a good thing? Should you be worried? Remains to be seen.]

Wu has asked me to direct it, with music by Ryan from Chicken Choice Judy aand I know what you're thinking: Oh- Bolin [In falsetto, because that's how you all sound and you know it.] but a musical we don't know-

Wrong-o, it is going to be amazing and you're all going to love it. So good news, we're casting!

There's going to be auditions.. and costumes and music! And sets! It's going to be like a live action mover with songs, I can't actually think of anything better.

You're trying to lure me in! I won't fall for that so easily. I'm pretty sure I can find out how it ends in a different way.

But.. Why would you do that?

Ange, I hate to be the one to break it to you but this is how story telling works. It's a whole experience where you're given a bunch of questions at the beginning and the answers along the way. That's what makes it fun.

[entreats]

I know how stories work.

[ Because, oh god, if she has to get stories mansplained to her one more time-- thanks for nothing back home, Featherine. ]

It's just-- can you really imagine me sitting through an entire musical? Give me a serious answer.

I don't know you well enough to know why you hate fun.

[entreats]

That's fine with me. The 'why' isn't important, after all. The important thing to know is just that I do.

[ .. apparently she's just okay with being known as a fun hater, huh. ]

Wow.. it's amazing how much you sound like my brother. Freaky Friday, for real. No wonder you're such good buds.

[entreats]

[ For a moment Ange pauses, probably wondering what Friday has to do with it.. and why said Friday ought to be freaky..

But then she shrugs it off as just another Bolin-ism. ]

That's funny, because you act a whole lot like my brother. Maybe it's a rule that if there are two siblings, one of them has to be the introvert and the other the extrovert.

Huh. I've never considered that before. Maybe? I don't know too many pairs of siblings.

But if I remind you of your brother you'd think you'd be a little nicer to me, Ange. Sheesh~

[entreats]

I thought I've been perfectly nice to you.

[ Just.. by Ange standards..

(Bolin, you don't want to be treated the same way she treats her brother, trust me.) ]

Or are you suggesting you have some sort of feedback for me?

Nope! No no nononono but if this is you being nice then remind me to never get on your bad side.

You know you kind of remind me of this girl I almost married, too.

On a scale of one to ten how murdery would you say you are?

[Really Bolin? From your brother to ex just like that? Apparently. Yikes.]

[entreats]

.. Are you publically asking me if I've committed murder? Or are you saying you're attracted to me?

[ Look, if he's awkwardly going to compare her to an ex, then Ange would like to at least reserve the right to make that dry joke. ]

[ This is about the LAST response Ange expected.

It speaks volumes about her pokerface that she manages to not even twitch, despite definitely doing a doubletake on the inside. ]

I have a girlfriend.

[ Without missing a beat. ]

And you also seem like too nice of a guy to murder, so it seems like we're all out of options.

Well that is.. that's good. That's good on both of those things. The lady love and the.. The not killing me..thing. Thank you for that, I appreciate it.

She must be a very lucky girl.

[entreats]

[ Cue Ange trying really hard to not think about that latter remark, lest she gets very flustered. And she definitely doesn't want that to happen right now.

So instead she sucks in a breath and says: ]

[ See? All cool. All casual. This is how she would like to be perceived. ]

.. and for the record, I don't actually randomly murder people, you know. So don't worry about that.

Oof, well that is a relief. I mean.. I don't really want to be murdered. And some people have really tried!

[Don't sound so proud, Bolin.]

[entreats]

[ Some people have tried, huh.

It's not really that fact in itself that surprises her - she's had a similar experience, after all - as much as the implication that he somehow survived all that surprises her. ]

You must have defended yourself pretty well then. [ Which is kind of a surprising thought, considering how.. Bolin.. comes across.. But still. ] Do you have fire powers like Mako?

[ They are brothers, after all. ]

[Bolin chuckles and shakes his head no. It's an easy assumption to make.]

You'd think so but no, I'm an earthbender. I take after our dad and Mako takes after our mom. It's kind of the only thing we've had that connects us to them.

[Aand moving right along. Bolin is that sort who will openly, easily share something incredibly sad or candid without even thinking about it.]

But yeah, I'd say I can fight pretty well. [pronounced pre-teeee]

I mean it's no big deal but for a while Mako and I fought professionally and then after that I was an actor, and then in the army and even a cop for a little while. We've fought against some of the biggest bads there are.

[Humble brag? A little bit. But he is also just genuinely happy to tell her.]

[entreats]

I'm not sure. I think someone here might be trying to make it sound like a big deal.

[ Yes, sure, Ange heard the first part of what he said too. And she understands the implications of it very well - and just how sad those implications are. But perhaps she's purposefully choosing to not comment on that part of it and potentially drag the mood of the conversation down, instead shaking her head to continue: ]

But firebending looks pretty cool, so I guess earthbending must be cool too. [ She's definitely putting emphasis on that 'guess' on purpose.

Just to tease him a little. Bolin started it by bragging, clearly!! ]

[He pauses for a moment before a huge smile blooms across his face.

Is she... she is! Ange is playing! Play!!]

Oh it is way cooler, don't let Mako blow smoke in your eyes. He might be able to lighteningbend but I can bend lava.

[entreats]

[ Oh god.

Mako never mentioned his brother was basically a puppy in human form. Just look at the way that face lights up - it's enough to make even Ange look surprised for the faintest moment before she manages to get her facial expression back under control again. ]

Is lavabending really special where you come from? I know it probably sounds like a dumb question, but I've got no clue, since bending doesn't exist in my world.

[pabugotmoves]

[It's too late, he saw the face. He saw it and there is no going back now that he's starting to understand how Ange is.]
