Video; un: darkness (Backdated to November 28th)
[Maul looks very grim when he starts off the video.]
Since some of you might wonder where he is and since he had messages for me to pass along to some of you, I'm here today to tell you Wesker is dead. I killed him.
[He quickly goes on before any screeching or condemnation can start being thrown his way.]
It was not out of malice, amusement, or anger. It was an act of mercy. The zealots took him and by the time I found him he was little more than a corpse but somehow still breathing. There was no hope for his recovery.
[Maul's eyes shut for a moment, still seeing the eviscerated body lying on the table that looked more like an autopsy victim than someone still alive, lungs and heart able to be seen and still working despite all that had been done to Wesker's body by those seeking his blood.]
I'm not sure how he lasted even that long with what they did to him. I ended his suffering. Hopefully, he will be back in a short time.
[There is a private message afterwards which is only sent out to a handful of people. Vira-Lorr, Luz, Orpheus, and Ariadne.]

He asked me to pass on a message to you.

But... again... thank you for informing me. I tend to check up on him from time to time, so it's good to know.

[Maul tries to smile but the expression doesn't even make it to his lips.]
You know he is the only one in this town to have ever heard me sing?
[When he had done so to Julia Sodder at her gravesite, an arduous task for both of them which had again helped bond them closer together as friends and allies.]

It's unexpected, but you do keep some things very much to yourself.

[It's still good to keep people on their toes even after knowing some of them for close to two years now.]
It's not something I generally advertise. I'm not very comfortable letting most people hear me sing.
[Singing was a very vulnerable, honest act and it peeled layers back on a person. Maul rarely wanted anyone to get that close and see what lay under the surface with him.]

And special things are for special people in our lives.

[Never say never. There might come a day when Maul feels the need to sing here in Trench, at least for his friends if not in public.]

[He gives her a final nod before he clicks off the feed. Maul is going to go to sleep for half a day to make himself feel better.]
