[Maul looks very grim when he starts off the video.]
Since some of you might wonder where he is and since he had messages for me to pass along to some of you, I'm here today to tell you Wesker is dead. I killed him.
[He quickly goes on before any screeching or condemnation can start being thrown his way.]
It was not out of malice, amusement, or anger. It was an act of mercy. The zealots took him and by the time I found him he was little more than a corpse but somehow still breathing. There was no hope for his recovery.
[Maul's eyes shut for a moment, still seeing the eviscerated body lying on the table that looked more like an autopsy victim than someone still alive, lungs and heart able to be seen and still working despite all that had been done to Wesker's body by those seeking his blood.]
I'm not sure how he lasted even that long with what they did to him. I ended his suffering. Hopefully, he will be back in a short time.
[There is a private message afterwards which is only sent out to a handful of people. Vira-Lorr, Luz, Orpheus, and Ariadne.]
He asked me to pass on a message to you.

He asked me to pass on a message to you.

[It's hard to convey over text but Maul puts no pressure into the question. It's just genuine curiosity. He never in a million years thought he would get married, given he was a Sith and all the complications with emotions that came with such a title, but he also never thought he'd be in a stable enough relationship to call someone his mate either. And yet here they were.]

[He won't say no to the possibility, but Reaper also wasn't about to jump into one either. He wasn't exactly the marrying sort, especially at his age.]

[Anakin and Padmé right from his own galaxy, though he didn't even know that about the Jedi's life.]
Well, if it ever comes up as a possibility, I might not mind. I've not loved anyone before the way I love you.

[Reaper just being dramatic about the whole thing. He knew many soldiers who had to live away from their wives and children.]
My, my Maul, it sounds like you're pushing for my to propose to you.
no subject
[It's unusual for Maul to have such optimism but Reaper does tend to bring it out of him.]
Hardly. It's the curiosity of someone who hasn't never thought they ever would end up possibly heading towards marriage. Shall I do what they do on my home planet and challenge you to a fight where I beat you into submission? That's how everlasting bonds are formed between mates on Dathomir.

[He never thought Maul would care much for bonding like that. Marriage was for the whole death-do-us-part nonsense and neither of them could die.]
It sounds to me like your home planet has the right of it. Of course, you can't count you killing me as a win. I'll keep future marriage and battles to submission on my radar from now on.

[Since Maul's wardrobe could fit into his entire closet with room to spare.]
Very good. If I decide to do it, we can battle each other and whoever wins can be the one to propose.

[They were both very, very dramatic people, and Reaper wouldn't have it any other way.]
So that's the way you want to play it? Well, I'll keep it in mind for when I get an hankering for marriage again in my life.

[Maul just wore black a lot of the times and couldn't care less about wearing any other kinds of clothes. But he knew Reaper had designed his own outfit and so knew something about fashion.]
Duly noted.
