Hey guys!

Your resident aspiring witch here just saying that I'm glad to see a lot of you who came back, and a big hello to those who I'm just seeing now! My name's Luz Noceda, and for right now I'm living in a pretty nifty house with some of the best guys you'll ever meet!

I also know that we're all kind of living pretty far from each other and we're only just getting used to where we live, but now we all live in fairly different places. So I figure why don't we take this time to give a quick rundown of the type of place we're living in and what you can expect to see!

Our house is located in Cassandra, which seems to be a little rich in magic. The disciples here are really into their faiths, and I think that kinda lends to strange things walking around the street. Kinda helps to have your omen around, I've learned. My wolf Tempest keeps most mean looking monsters away, so I'm usually pretty safe, but they also sell lots of incense around here too. I think its to help keep the beasts I keep hearing about away, and to ward off corruption. I'd say if you're going to Cassandra with a mind to focus on magic, you've some to the right place. As Fern's observed though? Not the greatest place to grow things.

But that's just one part of Trench! What does your city have to offer?

Ever the little explorer...

[She was seated on her porch, sipping some tea as she greeted the morning light, looking out towards a forest and the distant spires of Gaze, just past the woods.]

So, there is very little of note to report in my home. I've set up shop here to tell fortunes to those who wish it, or give some counsel on mystical matters. I might be able to help identify things found. The house you've seen. It's small. Just the right size for two to live, but not much more. I can offer a little crash space for one, from time to time. I'm at the edge of the Cellar Door, though, if you need a jumping point to walk to Gaze.

Cellar Door is the entertainment district. Much larger than anything in Deerington. For a town that is just trying to survive, they're insistent on a lot of diversions. I'm starting to suspect there's a reason for that. There are a great many places here and sorts of diversions. The Red, I'm told, is very popular. I haven't been quite yet.

[As for the Moss King's dicing parlor, he could go suck a railroad spike. She wasn't advertising for him right now.]

[Luz was also starting to get that restlessness of her new blood, and was attempting to balance that with her own usual enthusiasm].

I still love that as a name for a city, Cellar Door! It is a small house, and if things get better with you and Minako, who knows? It's definitely a lot cozier than the place you had in Deerington, although I'll miss being able to just knock on your door and see you super easily!

I'll keep that in mind. Lamp Locations are still a trip to use!

Ooh, good idea! Entertainment! I should snag Mabel and maybe Luca and we can go have a fun time! Unless of course, it's one of those adult only kind of places?

I... [She coughed. Did her cheeks just go a little red?] I'm trying not to move too fast with things. I don't want to assume things before they happen, but I think... yes, that might be very nice.

[She might not have picked out the size of bed she wanted just yet for a reason.]

Ahem. There's adult only places within, but it's clearly meant for everyone so I want to say there are places for all ages within. Or there should be anyway.

No, of course not! You should take your time and let things develop naturally!

[Luz DID notice that and was, of course, happy that yet again someone she knew found something special with someone she met. Also, seeing Vira blush like that was the cutest thing].

I sure hope so. Not that I think there are any adult things at this point that surprise me. Not after Deerington and the things you see there.

[It was happening more often lately. Just having a normal relationship, one that developed gradually over time, was so different from what she was used to. It felt nice.]

Heh. It was rather eye opening wasn't it?

[Luz was jealous really. Now that there wasn't so much danger, people were pairing up, and Luz wondered what it was like to have someone that special to share that time with. It sounded nice].

Well take your time! I'm sure if she's right for you she won't mind at all!

That is an understatement as big as a sinkhole.

[Stress did tend to increase the desire for comfort and closeness. Vira-Lorr was no different. And now, she was just... a little happy to be where she was. It really was nice.]

Exactly. And if I let her set the pace, we can ease our way into things.

Ngh...

Please, gods, no sinkholes. No more sinkholes.

Yes, really. Let's hope we can avoid all of that.

Thanks. I just... want her to be happy and for me to find a way to be happy, and if it works out that we can do it together? Even better.

[She put it that way in part because she didn't want assume that she 'was' the right one for Minako. But it was a nice thought at the same time.]

With any luck, never again. We'll have to see what comes won't we?

Right, and trust me, I am hoping that the both of you can find that for yourselves. Keep me posted on that the next time I see you, ok?

[She knew that Vira tended to have a few different relationships, and imagined that Deerington life tended to begin and end due to various circumstances. Luz would hope for nothing but the best for Vira there].

Yeah. I guess all we can do is try to make things livable for all of us. I think we've both made some good steps there so far though: you living by yourself, and me with my new housemates!

And I think they're good steps. We have to begin somewhere after all. Might as well begin with the living conditions themselves, right?

I agree! I guess the next step really is figuring out what all this blood magic stuff can do, right?

Definitely one of the first steps. The first in understanding the powers of this world, absolutely. Around here, there's so much that we don't know. We'll be studying it all for a long time.

That's why they have scholars here, right? I think Varian might be one of those.

I still am not sure what I'm going to do yet.

I doubt he likes the term "Arcane" scholars, but yes. I believe he is almost certainly joining our ranks. It's in his nature to better understand the world around him, as it is mine. We just have different methods and approaches.

You will figure something out. Don't worry. It's not one of those things we have to decide the moment we arrive on the beach. In my case it's just a little obvious.

I doubt he likes it either, but it makes sense. Varian is one of the smartest people I know, and he'll want a job that lets him expand what he knows about this world. I'm sure you'll both be able to help each other when it comes to expanding your knowledge.

That's true! I always figured you'd still want to be on top of things. I'm going to have to keep exploring my options, I guess.

Within limits. We can definitely assist each other, though we don't always share a ... perspective on how the world actually works.

[Ever the classic magic v science debate.]

It's in my nature. Knowledge is power. And you'll find something, no question about it.

No, I can see that you guys would have things you disagree about. You both do have a quest for knowledge though, so that's something!

[Heck, even she disagreed with Varian about magic despite having a deep appreciation for science].

I know that's true! I'll keep looking. Who knows, maybe one of my hobbies might turn into something bigger for me?

Precisely, and I've got enough experience with men like Leonard that I know how to work with the more scientifically inclined of researchers.

[She'd gone a few rounds on the topic of magic with Wesker, Moira and McCoy in the past. She could handle a few more with Varian. There was more than one way to skin a cat, as the saying went.]

You'd probably not be surprised to know a lot of people ended up getting jobs doing their hobbies back in the nightmare, so perhaps it will.

Right, there are plenty of other sciencey types around here. I mean, you've probably even met Stanford Pines, right? I've only talked with him a few times, but he seems to have a big fixation on science and dabbles a little in magic.

[She'd ask who Leonard was later. Luz was pretty frustrated at looking dumb all the time].

Maybe I would have if I had to find a job quickly back then. I was living with Eda and we were still operating the shop, so we weren't too bad off.

Stanford is absolutely the kind of man who will be at the forefront of this research, without a question. Like you said, there's several like him.

[she nodded.] I think that we're going to find good jobs for everyone. Sure, there's the school in Mummers, but it's probably better for you to have a chance to work on your own too, right?

This suit comes to mind.

No wonder Dipper idolizes him so much. But to be fair, he's pretty smart. I feel that way about Varian, just don't tell him that. He'd get a big head, and his barely fits in the house.

[Which was just a joke, mostly: Varian tended to not be as boastful as he could be].

I think so! I just have to figure out what I think would suit me best. Still trying to figure that out.

Hah. He already has a big one. He doesn't need too much help. [No, he really wasn't that boastful, but he had his ego when it came to what he was good at. So the comment definitely had a good natured ton to it.]

Honestly? How are you at making things? You might have a look amongst the artificers in the merchant district. With your runic spells, I could imagine you enchanting things more or less easily.

I will never not love the Owl house crew for making that drawing

Yes it does! I've seen it inflate and deflate depending on the situation!

[And discussion. Varian did NOT like admitting that Luna could hex him to kingdom come if it came down to it].

I'm...ok at it? I'm more of a literal person, and the only thing I tend to make is art. But you know, I could probably take a crack at that anyway! I am able to make spells more easily now!

Mmmm. the humility is good for him when it comes, usually. He'll learn from it.

See, there you go. Enchantment and artifice seems like the sort of thing that everyone will have use for. Perhaps you can find ways to make your runes last even longer than they already do in some cases.
