[ Even as the image can be seen, it seems like there's still a moment of set up, tiny hands fiddling with the Omni like they're trying to get the perfect shot.. But then there are two faces visible. Two faces that are looking decidedly younger than usually - it's Ange and Ruby, looking like they definitely can't be much older than six years old.

And looking very excited. ]

Um, so, so..! We heard that there's some sort of reaaally scary snake monster out there! So.. we thought we'd help out everyone and get rid of it! Because Ruby.. She's a really, reaaally cool huntress! [ Ange may be Will-Smith-esque posing at Ruby for emphasis right as she says that. ]

[Ruby just stares at the camera briefly until she notices Ange's hands pointing her way. She blinks and quickly starts to flex her twiggy arms to the camera.]

Yeah! We're super strong and awesome and we've got tons of weapons! [Ruby gestures to a sack of potato's and a large collection of sticks that they've gathered up.]

That snack is going to be- a- -uh- a, a piece of snack!

[ While Ruby is saying that last part, it seems that Ange has already moved over to grab one of the sticks for a demonstration. As she's running back towards where Ruby and the Omni are, she's waving the stick wildly. ]

We'll get it just like thi--

[ Ange manages to smack the stick right against the device, turning the view sideways before it just cuts out entirely.

Oops. ]

[oh my god. holy shit. is this how humans feel when they see children in danger????]

Where are you right now?

[ Ange is totally unaware of any alarm here. Instead she just smiles widely at the face on the screen. ]

Hi, mister Michael! [ .. well, apparently there's at least recognition.. ]

We're just in our yard! But we're gonna go out soon to try and find the bad snake! Do you know where it is..?

You should come watch us fight it!

It's gonna be the awesomest!

[Michael, faced with a sudden stressful situation, defaults to his most base of impulses:]

I think there might be some around my place, actually. Eleanor's been barking a lot - you should come over here.

[Bald-faced lying!]

Really?! [ She gasps. GASPS.

Before she's already quickly elbowing Ruby in the side. ]

Ruby, we should go there..! We can't let mister Michael be in danger! He's too nice to get hurt..!

Oh no!

[Ruby rubs her side from the elbow but she's quick to join in fretting over Michael.]

Y-yeah! Just be careful until we get there Mister Michael! And be sure to give Eleanor lots of pets to stop her from barking! We'll protect the both of you once we get there!

But don't pet her too much because we're going to need to pet her too!

Just to be safe!

[Oh, boy, that actually worked? Alright, he'll roll with it!]

Yeah! Yeah, of course, I'll...keep an eye out.

[ It definitely worked. It's not hard to convince these two gullible, gullible girls..

And thankfully - if not just due to how relatively quiet the town is this month - said two gullible girls manage to show up at Michael's place without being eaten by something.

But it does mean that he has a double set of tiny hands pounding on his front door now. ]

Mister Michael! Mister Michaaaell!

[ If he does not answer the door instant, we're talking within a second, Ange will even say: ]

Ruby, I don't think he can hear us..! [ Please don't tell Ruby of all people to use her outside voice, Ange. ] What if something happened already..!

[Ruby's hands keep pounding on the door until Ange turns her way. Then she stops and steps back to look at the door.]

I- I got an idea! On the count of three let's tackle the door with all we've got.

[And she takes a step back. Waiting for Ange to join her at her side.]

One... Two!

...Three!

[And whether Michael has answered the door or not Ruby's charging forward!]

[Michael was waiting on the living room couch, which is what he considers to be a completely normal distance from the front door! The time it takes him to stand and go over to answer that knock is entirely reasonable!

He opens the door and Ruby just immediately charges into his legs. It doesn't quite knock him over, but he definitely stumbles hard backwards into the wall. Hatrick the cursed cowboy hat lets out an ominous hum as his stand is jostled.]

Why?

[ Ruby is just a tad faster than Ange.

Which, in this case, means that Ruby is already running right into Michael before Ange has had the chance to take more than one or two steps, leaving her standing there for a moment.

Mostly to look at this situation. It seems like Michael isn't hurt, nor can she see a scary monster, so.. ]

Mister Michael, you're alright..!

[ .. so instead Ange launches herself at the man too, just latching onto his leg in a hug. ]

[Ruby avoids toppling over by latching onto the leg that Ange isn't currently attached to. Hope he enjoys the added weight of two toddlers on him.]

We thought the monster got you and we came in to save you!

It's not in here is it?

[Oh, god, this is happening now? Michael steadies himself, and rights Hatrick. The cursed hat is mollified and stops humming - at least, quite so loudly. There's just sort of always an ambient Hatrick buzz.]

Uh - no, no, we're good. I haven't actually seen it, but I think Eleanor might have smelled it. Eleanor!

[The Warg hops off the couch and trots over to sniff hard at both of the girls. She doesn't seem stressed out at all. Not a great scene partner here.]</small.

Eleanor..!

[ Apparently this is the only thing that can save Michael from having to walk with two little kids attached to his legs, since Ange lets go the moment the Warg shows up..

To instead smile at the creature and try to pet it. You know. Because Wargs totally look so pettable, right? But maybe Ange remembers it from her older form - or she's just way too careless, that's also a possibility. ]

I don't think Eleanor looks like she's sensed a monster at all.. What do you think, Ruby?

[Ruby sees Ange petting the warg and immediately leaps off of Michaels leg and joins in. She wants the good pupper to know it's a good pupper too.]

Uh... No- I don't think so either.

Are you sure the monster is around here Mister Michael?

Because if not we're going to have to find it.

You and Eleanor can come too if you want?

[Eleanor enjoys the petting! More in a Warg-y way than a dog way, but she'll sit and sniff the girls.

Michael, immediately caught out in his lie, hesitates. Yeah, he...he probably should've seen this coming, this is usually how these things end up.]

Yeah, well, she has calmed down. Why don't we just have a look around here first, to be sure?

[And then...well, getting an invite to go with them is good enough. He ought to be able to keep them out of danger!]

[ Hmmm, that does sound like a good idea. Ange isn't entirely sure how these monsters work, but maybe some of them can be real sneaky! It could be hiding under Michael's bed..!

First Ange glances over at Ruby, as if to see if she agrees as well, but then she looks at Michael. ]

Sure, mister Michael..! Show us the way! I'm sure Ruby will recognize the monster right away..!

[Ruby looks between the two and give a firm little nod. She's ready to go against this snake.]

Yeah! Good idea!

Lead the way Mister Michael, But get back when I say so! If the snake pops out I'll bop it on the head!

Okay, come on. I'll show you around.

[His manner's very serious, even if this is all a farce - that's the sort of thing he's good at, you know? He leads the girls, along with Eleanor, into the living room.]

I was just in here, so I think this is probably fine. The tent is Vyng's, I don't...if anything's in there, they can handle it.

.. you have someone camping in your house..?

[ Ange doesn't sound like she thinks this is Extremely Weird, at least.

But she does seem kind of curious. After all-- ]

We don't have a tent in our house..! Right, Ruby?

[ Even if there might not be a monster hiding in there, it's still interesting! ]

Mr.Vyng camps here!? That's awesome.

[She looks to Ange and then to the tent. And then back to Ange.]

No- But we should get one!

Mister Michael! After we beat the snake you should come camp at our house too.

Ha! Sure, that sounds fun!

[He would totally do this, why not!]

Anyway, uh - the kitchen's here, and the bathroom's down that way. Hopefully there's no snakes in the pipes, like that book.

[ Ange and Ruby will have some explaining to do to the rest of the house once they're back to normal, clearly..

But for now? They're just thinking about this. About fun camping. And - now Michael is pointing it out - about potential pipe danger.

Some danger that seems very real to Ange, since she gasps, before turning towards Ruby with a solemn - by kid standards - order. ]

Ruby! Hit the pipes! Hit the pipes!

On it!

[It does not take Ruby long to totally dash off to the bathroom. There's the sound of clanging as her stick bashes against any pipes she can find.]

Take that! And that! And some of this! Get outta here you weird snakey! We were having a good time until you showed up!

[Michael restrains a chuckle - he's well-practiced at that, anyway.]

Oh, that's a good idea! Sound ought to scare them out, right?
