[ Even as the image can be seen, it seems like there's still a moment of set up, tiny hands fiddling with the Omni like they're trying to get the perfect shot.. But then there are two faces visible. Two faces that are looking decidedly younger than usually - it's Ange and Ruby, looking like they definitely can't be much older than six years old.

And looking very excited. ]

Um, so, so..! We heard that there's some sort of reaaally scary snake monster out there! So.. we thought we'd help out everyone and get rid of it! Because Ruby.. She's a really, reaaally cool huntress! [ Ange may be Will-Smith-esque posing at Ruby for emphasis right as she says that. ]

[Ruby just stares at the camera briefly until she notices Ange's hands pointing her way. She blinks and quickly starts to flex her twiggy arms to the camera.]

Yeah! We're super strong and awesome and we've got tons of weapons! [Ruby gestures to a sack of potato's and a large collection of sticks that they've gathered up.]

That snack is going to be- a- -uh- a, a piece of snack!

[ While Ruby is saying that last part, it seems that Ange has already moved over to grab one of the sticks for a demonstration. As she's running back towards where Ruby and the Omni are, she's waving the stick wildly. ]

We'll get it just like thi--

[ Ange manages to smack the stick right against the device, turning the view sideways before it just cuts out entirely.

Oops. ]

[ Technically everyone has to wait at some point, right?

But something about the way Mebh says it makes it feel special. Like it was some special kind of waiting. Which is why Ange can't help but wonder.. ]

For how long did you have to wait back then..? [ Longer than now? Shorter? ]

Dunno. Weeks. A month, maybe.

[She'd lost track after a little while, honestly.]

So I'm used to waitin' by now. [She's been here for a few months now, and that hasn't made waiting any easier. She likes to think that once her mother does arrive, they can leave together and find better woods to live in than Trenchwood, just like they did back home.

...of course, there are some friends she's made from Trench. But she won't think about that right now.]

[ Ange, in this form, has no idea that Mebh has already been waiting here for longer than she has back home.

And yet she seems to be thinking anyway. She does know from experience that any waiting on the people important to you, any moment without them, is already sad.

So.. ]

If you want, we could wait together..

Yeah?

[Mebh still isn't quite used to "townies" reaching out to help her like this, but then again, this girl has apparently gone a while without her own parents. That's certainly something to bond over, at least.

Of course, she still hasn't quite figured out that this girl is really just a younger version of Ange, even if she does look familiar. If she were able to catch her scent, she might be able to connect the dots, but obviously she can't smell people through the Omni.]

Waitin' around can get pretty boring. [She doesn't sound too sad when she says that, though. At least this is someone she can wait with.]

That's why we can make waiting fun..! [ Ange sounds pretty determined about that one, though she ruins it a little when she adds a: ] .. probably.

[ Look, she isn't sure. She has never tried to spruce up waiting before. This is a first. ]

You can come over here! Willow made cookies, so you can have some of those too. If you like cookies.

I like cookies.

[The prospect of food will pretty much always brighten Mebh's mood. It's pretty much the only reason she still goes into Trench at all.]

If you need help eatin' town tasties, I can come over.

[ Well, it's not exactly like she needs help, since Ange would gladly eat absolutely all of these cookies - or the ones Ruby can't get to first, anyway.

But since she has found a weird sort of shared experience of waiting for parents in this other girl, she doesn't mind sharing.

Hence why Ange just smiles. ]

Yeah, come on over! We're at.. um. There's a really big green house in the.. I think it's called Gaze..? District..? [ She slowly nods. That sounds about right. ] That's where I am! And where the cookies are!

Ugh, I gotta go through all those smelly districts?

[Mebh makes a fake gagging noise at that. One reason she doesn't like living in the town is because all the smells are too overwhelming for her.]

But if it's for tasties, I'll come by. [She does have her priorities, though.]
