[ Even as the image can be seen, it seems like there's still a moment of set up, tiny hands fiddling with the Omni like they're trying to get the perfect shot.. But then there are two faces visible. Two faces that are looking decidedly younger than usually - it's Ange and Ruby, looking like they definitely can't be much older than six years old.

And looking very excited. ]

Um, so, so..! We heard that there's some sort of reaaally scary snake monster out there! So.. we thought we'd help out everyone and get rid of it! Because Ruby.. She's a really, reaaally cool huntress! [ Ange may be Will-Smith-esque posing at Ruby for emphasis right as she says that. ]

[Ruby just stares at the camera briefly until she notices Ange's hands pointing her way. She blinks and quickly starts to flex her twiggy arms to the camera.]

Yeah! We're super strong and awesome and we've got tons of weapons! [Ruby gestures to a sack of potato's and a large collection of sticks that they've gathered up.]

That snack is going to be- a- -uh- a, a piece of snack!

[ While Ruby is saying that last part, it seems that Ange has already moved over to grab one of the sticks for a demonstration. As she's running back towards where Ruby and the Omni are, she's waving the stick wildly. ]

We'll get it just like thi--

[ Ange manages to smack the stick right against the device, turning the view sideways before it just cuts out entirely.

Oops. ]

Yeah. I'm a sea monster. At least, that's what people back home call us.

[Because of the connotation, he'd mostly been avoiding it here, but he still can't help but identify with the term when people say they're hunting monsters. It's difficult to be certain of whether or not they're talking about people like him.]

You don't.. seem like a monster though.

[ Sure, Luca does look like it right now. Ange won't deny that.

But.. ]

Monsters.. are supposed to be all scary. They like to scare people, or even worse, hurt or eat people.. That's what they always do in the stories.

Well none of the monsters back home ever did any of those things. I mean, people were scared, but that's because they saw us, not because we were trying to scare them, and we just ate fish and seaweed and stuff.

I wonder why people were scared of you guys then, back where you come from.. You sound more like animals. Or.. maybe animal-people.

[ Luca does kind of look like something you'd see in the water, right? But in fish form! ]

If you ate fish and seaweed.. then.. did you live in the water too? Maybe you're just some kind of mermaid! [ Of course that's where Ange's mind goes to.

Little kids love mermaids. ]

Yeah, we live in the water. You know, someone else mentioned us sounding like mermaids, so you're probably right!

[ So he is a mermaid! ]

That's so cool..! I wish I could be a mermaid!

Yeah, I wish you could be a mermaid, too! It would be nice if there were more people to swim with. Of course, it's so much colder right now than the water where I'm from that I haven't really been swimming, but...it would be nice to have more people to swim with when it warms up.

[ Ange seems to still be considering this suggestion as she's saying it, but she can't help it. She doesn't want this poor mermaid guy to be all alone, after all..! ]

I'm.. um.. I'm not really good at swimming. [ Ange admits the #1 problem here. ] B-But I could learn! So you don't have to be all alone..!

[ .. at least she's got the right determined spirit, despite lacking the main skill necessary for this entire idea. ]

Yeah, it'll be fun! And I'll keep an eye on you so you don't drown.

[Sure, he knows it won't be the same as having someone else who could swim like him, though there is at least one other person who has gills in this place so he at least has one option for that if he really needs it, but it could still be fun.]

[ Ange nods. Apparently she's totally willing to trust this other kid-monster-person she has only just met with something as important as, you know, making sure she doesn't die. ]

Then.. it's a promise! We're gonna go swimming together when it gets warmer out! You're not going to forget, right?

I'll remember! It'll be fun!
