Hello, hello Trench! If you don't know me, I'm Wu, and I run the Raccoon Room, Trench's exclusive Sleeper performance venue.

[ Wu grins at the camera, talking a bit fast, clearly excited about something. The excitement palpable even through the Omni with his paleblood power projecting his emotions. Fritter the raccoon is perched on his shoulder, holding on to some of his hair as he talks ]

I come to you today with an announcement. A very important announcement! I know a lot of us have baggage we're carrying around from back home, and after a while, you might be like, hey, this isn't super important anymore! And then something happens, and it's suddenly really, really important again.

[ Wu puffs himself up a bit, sitting up straighter, putting his free hand solemnly to his chest. Fritter mimics him, doing the same action with her little paw to her heart ]

So, today, on this, February second, of the Egg Moon in Trench, Deer Country, I, Wu, King of the Earth Kingdom back on my world that doesn't have it's own specific name, I hereby formally abdicate my claim to the Earth Kingdom throne and title.

[ As soon as he's done, the formality breaks and he lets out a bright laugh. Fritter chitters excitedly, crawling up into Wu's hair. ]

Whew! That felt good, really good. [ But then his eyes go wide and he adds, conspiratorially: ] Oh, but if you're from home and you somehow go back home and there's another Wu there, he didn't do that, not yet at least! He still has some work to do.

[ We're back to casualness, and a bright, wide grin. ]

I'm glad that's done with. Oh, boy. You know, that super important thing? Mako and I are getting married! And he doesn't want any pesky titles following him around like mine was. So, we're just going to be two regular guys. Just two guys, getting married. [ He sighs happily, clearly deeply, disgustingly in love. Fritter rolls out of his hair and he casually catches her in his arms.

Then he gasps again, sitting up: ] Oh, and you're all invited! February 20th, at the Raccoon Room. I'll see you there!

Thank you! Honestly, I haven't really been a king since I came to Trench, this was just making sure, you know. Poor Mako really doesn't want to be any kind of royalty, and I can't blame him.

We're really excited about it! Even Mako, although I think I've scared him a little bit. But we're going to make this work.

[ Mako really should have expected this ]

I'm just messing with you, buddy! I know it was an accident. [ It's just very, very funny to him ] I'll drop it, because we have a wedding to think about!

Too bad about the royalty thing, though. I woulda loved to call Mako 'Princess' just to see the look on his face. [Because yes, he knows he wouldn't be a princess, it would totally just be for the lulz.]

Well, you can call him that. [ If you want to get punched, and/or to see him very very flustered, This is very funny to Wu, and suddenly, he supports it ]

Thank you! I know, I know, lots of big steps! I've been meaning to find a way to officially step down for ages, and this was just the kicker. Mako really doesn't want to be a prince, or princess, you know.

Right?! That's what I'm saying, and everyone's like oh, no, not everyone can fit! They're going to suffocate! I mean, I'm flattered everyone thinks so many people are going to show up! If the Raccoon Room can't fit everyone, then you know it's a party!

I mean- it is a chance there might be some...crush injuries but if you just opened up the doors and let it spill outside a bit, you'd probably be fine.

They're so beautiful! We have some on the Raccoon Room's door, too. It really is the perfect month for this, with roses everywhere. I think this Doorway is a stand up guy.

Well, the thing about being a king is that royal weddings are a huge deal. And this isn't a royal wedding, but-- well. I still kind of want it.

Yes! The street was hopping during the Black Parade, I don't see why we couldn't use it for this, too.

I suppose no one can blame you when it's what you're accustomed to. Having the option of indoor and outdoor will at least be a compromise that allows you to keep it so large and still not put safety conditions at risk.

[ A beat. He forgot something here. ]

Fight-- no! No, there will be no fighting at my wedding! You can fight in the rest of Trench, but not at or near the Raccoon Room!

[ Why is it always you, Savage... ]

[Ugh, so it was going to be one of those stand around events? He was good at looming in corners, but the potential level of fun had just be reduced to nearly zero.]

So what am I supposed to do aside from stand around staring at you?

[Wait. Wait, he just thought of something.]

Can I physically throw people out if they start fighting? Or become rowdy?

[ Wu laughs brightly, petting down her scales. ]

I'm excited, too, sweetheart! You keep your daddy from getting too freaked out by the idea of a party about him, okay?

[ He grins up at Mako, stealing the mochi off the table and popping it in his mouth. He just assumes this was for him. ]

Baby, it'll be fine, I promise! I have a great idea of what I want to do, and it isn't going to be that hard. We're not throwing a royal wedding here-- specifically we aren't doing that! Really, it's going to be great.

I'm not freaked out.

[ Mako huffs, absolutely freaked out, which Wu can almost certainly tell so it's a moot point. Anyway, the mochi were absolutely for him and all Mako does is pour him some tea to go with them. ]

I'm worried about capacity limits.

[His voice is a little muffled for some reason, but he can't not make an appearance here for the two most important announcements of his best friend's life. --Or at least, an audio appearance.]

Thank you so much!!! I never wanted the throne, so stepping away isn't a terribly hard decision for me, especially here. Back home, it'll take a lot longer, but I have hope!

You know, we got together on Valentine's day last year. It's our one-year and those-extra-months-when-we-were-home anniversary! It's not a holiday on our world, but I think it's a really lovely one.
