[ The video flickers on to find Sara perched against her motorcycle on the edge of the woods, looking a little rough around the edges but mostly unhurt. ]

Alright, so... I can't tell if this place is better or worse than the last one yet, but judging from the creepy ambiance, the hopes aren't high. I've got some weapons with me from Deerington, though, so if you're in need of protection or a way to safety, let me know.

[ She chews on her lip a moment. ]

Also, anyone know where the hell to get a drink around here?

[ you know what's going to happen? a drink of sara's choice will appear in a bright red light and seat itself right beside the front wheel of her motorcycle. it's nice and cold and the red magic doesn't disappear until a little umbrella is placed inside of the glass and/or bottle.

with a smile, wanda turns on her device. ]

Beside you.

[ Familiar as she is with Wanda's magic, she's not sure she'll ever truly get used to it. Perking up when she sees the red light swirl into the form of an old fashioned, her eyes light up as the little umbrella drops into it, a bubble of laughter on her lips before she picks it up and returns her attention to the screen. ]

My hero.

[explosion]

[ any other day, she would deny, deny, deny being anyone's hero, but wanda's in a good mood. new place, new surroundings, a pocket full of magic, and familiar, friendly faces. that'd put any sad girl in a good mood. ]

Do you like it? [ she scrunches up her face. ] It could be a little on the salty side. I'm not used to making drinks.

[ She has to admit, she enjoys seeing Wanda in high spirits. It's not the worst welcome to a new world they could've gotten, right? They didn't actually drown?

Sara grins at the screen, taking a sip and chuckling before taking another larger gulp. ]

I don't think salt's part of this recipe, but it's good and strong. And that's all I need. [ She licks her lips, turning her attention back to Wanda. ] Thanks. You settling in okay?

[explosion]

[ all she can do is lift her shoulders in response. is she doing okay? she's doing all right. ]

We're all here in one piece. And this place isn't so bad.

[ wanda doesn't feel so... smothered as she did in deerington. here, she can breathe. she can feel her chaos magic in a way she had only begun to in sokovia. ]

Did you always have a motorcycle?

[ She smiles a little at that. Take the good moments where they come, right? Deerington had taught her that in spades. ]

Not so bad yet, anyway. [ She smirks, canting her head curiously at her. ] You seem different. In a good way.

[ Glancing down at her motorcycle, she shrugs a shoulder. ] Yeah, it was broken for a while, but it's back up and running again. I'll take you for a spin some time.

[explosion]

[ wanda feels lighter. maybe it's the new digs they've found themselves in. she's not at home, she's not alone, and she can exist in a world that isn't haunted by vision or pietro. maybe that's selfish. she doesn't think to tell sara; it's not something to say over the network, and definitely not something to say when she's enjoying a very special wanda-made drink. ]

I'll need to make sure I get a helmet that won't give me hideous helmet hair.

[ she reaches up to touch her hair with a hand, purposefully mussing it up while pretending she's not aware of it. ]

You seem immune to it. The helmet hair.

[ maybe she's just used to the weight that everyone carried around with them in deerington. it weighed on her, too. the horrors of it, the danger that lurked at every corner. a few months away, back home with her family - it'd felt good. really good. as did the promise of something new.

she chuckles at wanda, taking another sip of her drink. ]

Can't you just magic the helmet hair away?

[ she smiles, checking her own reflection in the screen, her eyes lingering on wanda for a moment. ]

Ponytails help. But something tells me you'll look just fine.
